Seems our board have finally finished their task of going all our to make a mockery of us.

First there was the fire sale of every asset not nailed down

Appointment of Dean Saunders

Playing ineligible players in the FA Cup

Sacking of key long serving staff members without so much of a thank you

The Player Progression Pathway - front by some dodgy Italians linked to Match Fixing. This PPP also owes thousands of pounds out to familiies for trips planned then cancelled + also charging silly amounts for new kits only for a few months later to demand the same again because of a new sponser on the shirt. All this whilst claiming no links to CFC despite playing in their kit and being front by our CEO Mr Chris Turner - http://www.express.co.uk/finance/crusader/637636/Footie-fiasco-goes-into-extra-time

Then there was the shaming of record goal scorer Ernie Moss's family after agreeing to host a charity game only to slap the club with various charges for the event and witheld the funds for a few weeks - http://www.derbyshiretimes.co.uk/sport/football/chesterfield-fc/legend-ernie-s-family-devastated-by-club-s-silence-over-charity-game-total-1-7981068 to which the fans eventually came to the aid to cover the costs of the stewards - http://www.derbyshiretimes.co.uk/sport/football/chesterfield-fc/family-of-spireites-legend-ernie-moss-overwhelmed-by-fan-support-1-7984197

Now there is the debacle around the clubs pre season tour to Hungary. The club ran a comp to send 2 fans to Budapest with the team, it all went quiet and nothing was said. Club then announced a winner + when the club travelled nobody saw anything of our winner - turns out this was now fabricated and fans who entered were lied to and defrauded by the club - http://www.derbyshiretimes.co.uk/news/breaking-news-full-review-of-chesterfield-fc-s-marketing-to-be-carried-out-after-misleading-competition-1-8020941

+ official club statement here - http://www.chesterfield-fc.co.uk/news/article/2016-17/club-statement-3193104.aspx

Literally couldnt make this stuff up.

And in the backdrop of all this the videos of the players in full club kit + board members and management (????) getting smashed and breaking shisha pipes in Budapest are surfacing on the internet showing the players being chucked out of a bar and the rest of the bar being so pleased about it they are chanting Cherio at them all (and a picture of Ched chatting up a couple of women too). Amazing stuff really - http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3695882/Ched-Evans-new-teammates-thrown-bar.html

Well worth a read of this lot if you have 10 minutes. The board have lost the plot, this could genuinely end in a Blackpool II. Season ticket sales 30% down already with many more already saying they aren't going for one or a culmination of the above.

if i've missed anythign else please fill in the gaps fellow town fans..

Quite apart from all the shenanigans around the PPP etc, what has worried me the last few years is despite this recent period being one of our best on the pitch and players being sold for £1m+ (haven't we sold nearly £5m worth of players over the last few years?) our debt in relation to the new ground has not gone down, and incredibly seems to have risen! If multiple Wembley appearances, play offs runs, league wins and record breaking player sales has not reduced our debt, then we are being appalling run financially. What kind of state would we be in if we hadn't been able to sell the likes of Clucas, Doyle, Cooper, Darikwa etc for big fees? There doesn't seem to be any mass panic in relation to the debt, and it does seem serviceable, but surely we should have been able to make a decent sizes dent in it?

Massive concern for me is what do we sell when everything valuable we have has gone? After Aryibi I think the boards pay days are going ot be few and far between. Do we flog the ground? What if the council start pushing for the £1m loan back?

All worrying, they literally are clueless. Every decision made is done it benefit themselves and with no thought of the fans, the community, the staff or anyone in general.

I think signing Ched Evans is basically in the hope he bags a dozen by Christmas and the Sheffield Mafia can flog him for a few quid in January

I don't like any of the people in charge of my club. It's difficult to say more than that as DA has a history of taking people to court who talk shit about him online!

What gets me most about this whole competition fiasco, is that the club released a 'spare a thought' statement saying the winner was 'ill and couldn't make it' when asked to provide photographs of his 'trip' when he was in fact made up all along. I just can't get my head around how incredibly disingenuous and breathtakingly stupid that is! Chris Turners position as COE is untenable now, surely.

I can't understand how there were only four people interested in this raffle.

FOUR?

 I just like the fact there was a meeting between people/an ingenious thought by one person that they could blow all this off by suggesting that the made up bloke had suffered some sort of illness or what have you.

Unbelievably bad PR.

Town fans have viewed Turner's position as untenable for years, but he carries on bumbling from one costly embarrassment to the next.

Meanwhile there're those who believe the initials PPP, the acronym for the company he jointly runs with Liam Sutcliffe, a former bankrupt who's tried to airbrush his years at Rotherham from history for some reason or other, could stand for 'Perks, Privileges and Pounds'.

And of course there're absolutely no conflicts of interest between the CEO and Head of Player Recruitment at CFC running an enterprise closely associated with that same club...

I'm sure most folk will have a laugh at this but forget about it in a day or three.

However our fans know it's merely the latest in a catalogue of scandals, questionable relationships and gaffes that'll only continue whilst Turner's around.

Because then they would have to actually pay for it.

James Higging isn't a real person, he was never in the draw, never bought a ticket and as far as everyone knows doesn't actually exist. Hence him being Surrey based, even though the only way you could enter was buying a ticket from the ground.

Shambles, and this isn't anywhere near the worst thing we've done this summer. My OP should open a few eyes if the other stories get around. We've been on ITV news, bbc, guardian, sun and even as far and wide as NZ so far, such an embarassment.

Hahahaha

I've only just remembered the commercial head at Chesterfield who will be behind this is the one and only Kevin Fitzgerald. Our forums are full of tales of his antics at Vale.

What a helmet

Sacked earlier today.
