In the past we've blown it on nights like this....tonight we were superb!!

Said the same to my mate after the third went in. He'd got money on 5-0 before ko so was considering helping out their keeper for the pen.

6 chuffing nil. Went to my first game in 1980 and started going regularly in the late 80's but i've never seen that scoreline. That was just flamin' mega. So many motm performances. Roberts is just the talisman and the heartbeat of this team. Enjoy Sam Morsy while you can, because he won't be with us much longer at this rate. Jimmy Ryan must have successfully cloned himself cos he was everywhere. Sam Clucas is a pleasure to watch and whatever we paid them for him, we ripped them off. I could go on...Gardner, Tendayi...

Dave needs to sort it out and get Cookie onside pronto. This could be something major and the club need to support what's happening here.

What an absolute disgrace. As has been mentioned, we looked disinterested tonight. We actually (it seems a long time ago) had a couple of chances before the first goal which could have led to a different story completely, but we were embarrassing. I thought Saturday was bad enough, but this was MK part two. I left when it got to 5-0 at MK but I stayed until the end this evening and it could easily have been double figures.

Did we even have a defence out there? I have never seen a defence so helplessly sliced open time and time again. We stood off Chesterfield, gave them as much time to play as they wanted and generally applied no pressure or made any attempts to tackle apart from occasionally dangling a leg out half-arsed.

I honestly don't know how it was only six. I feel sorry for our goalkeeper too. Ok, the one that slipped through his hands was a howler and, admittedly, not sure how he wasn't sent off for the penalty, but five of the six goals weren't his fault at all. The only other time he played for us though we lost 4-0, so you just know people will now be blaming the dodgy keeper. He made some really good saves tonight to keep it under double figures, and fair play to him because he had absolutely no help in front of him.

Completely useless, and completely relegated.

If its any consolation bud you looked better going forwards. It's been a while since i saw a defence as poor though...the centre half with the hunchback and the beer belly had his work cut out managing to complete his turning circle on the pitch?

As I say, we had a couple of chances early doors before the first and it could have been a different story, but to capitulate the way we did was pathetic.

The first goal had a hint of offside when the ball went out wide, and then the defender who should have been marking Roberts slipped over when turning, which is unfortunate I guess. Clucas was left unmarked on the spot for the second because the defender marking him didn't follow him away from the six yard line. Then the third immediately after was a sloppy sideways pass straight to the opposition - that's three VERY preventable goals, but the game has completely gone by then.

To be fair, we could easily have scored one in the first half and the goalkeeper didn't really have any saves to make other than the goals. It could quite easily have been 2-1 at the break or something, but instead it was completely over inside the opening 20 minutes. The other 70 were just embarrassing and men against boys.

As for Tom Eastman, he is a world beater some games and would keep you out all day long. Probably POTY too. Other games he looks like a pub player.

I was surprised by Colchesters lack of bottle and fight. Two wins could well be enough to stay in L1. Surely they've not accepted their fate already?

A quote from our manager: “There were a few bits and pieces for them to cheer about but I’m sure they admired Chesterfield’s quality.”

Is he having a laugh? There was nothing to cheer about, and I didn't go to watch Chesterfield.

I was surprised to see one or two clapping as I exited. I'd have been going wild at them or more likely have left the ground.

I remember being at Plymouth when we lost 7 nil and being stood in the away end absolutely baffled by the amount of people clapping them off at the end.

I also wondered why so many were clapping, I stood with my hands in my pockets - any anger for me had passed about an hour before the end, but they certainly didn't warrant any applause. There was only three of them big enough to properly come over anyway.

I was exactly the same, I didnt particularly want to scream and shout but clapping seemed ridiculous.

It's like thanking someone who's given you an STD.

Thanks Mila Kunis :sna:

Don't fancy any of the sides in the play offs right now. Sheff Utd are probably the best bet I suppose.
