Move 2 yards out of the way of oncoming celebrating players like anyone would do and does do in 99.9% of any goal celebrations?

He absolutely does nothing but stand there, blatantly in the way. It's quite noticeable how all of our players bar Demetriou brush passed him and celebrate together, its only because Hird physically grabs Demetriou that the entire melee ensued. Sorry, if you disagree, but the be all and end all is that Donohue completely losing the plot, over an incident that had absolutely nothing to do with him is what cost Chesterfield. Had he not got sent off for being an idiot and Chesterfield had got an equaliser, with the game finishing 2-2 - then the entire incident wouldn't have been mentioned ever again.

The fact it did cost you the game and it ended 4-1, is why fans are taking notice of it.

With regards to action after the game from any sort of panel. What help is that going to have? It's not going to win any points back or take Donohue's red card back? Anyone who accused our players of anything, could take a look at the fair play league (which we have won twice recently and are one the best behaved list again this year)...then they could go through thousands of hours of celebrations where players are in the way of the celebrating team...who simply move out of the way. Then they could zoom in and look at our players faces, who, were blatantly not aiming at scrumming the lad, blatantly not intending to cause any harm. No way anyone is going to get fined, no way any cards are added or rescinded.

Whilst I will agree, that some of our players could have moved around Hird, or not concentrated so much on trotting in a huddle together - this entire incident comes down to the stupidity of one Chesterfield player and IF he hadn't of been stupid and got sent off, you may have come back into the game - and if that did happen, nothing would ever be mentioned again and no eyes battered.

Stinks of excuses and sour grapes at a home defeat. If the rolls were reversed or we had drawn the game, I'd be in exactly the same stance on the entire incident. I'm sure you will all have differing opinions, of which everyone is correctly allowed, but we can agree to disagree.

Good luck for the rest of the season.

Mate I'm not looking for a fight here, but the Walsall players could have ran literally anywhere else and avoided Hird. Even if they were intent of running through him, just let him through rather than pick him up and drive him behind the net. It was disgusting behaviour. Although Donohoe was a twat for throwing a shot, trying to blame him for the fracas is like... 'shit, y'all see that smoke? Motherfuckin c***, we wouldn't even notice the fire if it wasn't for that smoke! Fucking smoke, hope it gets the book thrown at it'. You understand? He was a dick, and we'd have lost anyway, but don't pick Hird up and take him behind the net (why even? Baffling) and there's no problem. The fact that fans of other teams have come in here and called out the Walsall players for that shitty celebration says more than I ever could

"Their celebration" was just running to our fans, nothing bad about it. They accidentally got caught up with Hird, that's it.

Fuck sake

Give over... How do you 'accidentally' pick a guy up and drag him 10 yards... Take the blinkers off pal, really.. It was a dick move, pure and simple... Defending it just looks odd

Me either pal, as I say - we can agree to disagree. If everyone had the same opinion, football and the world in general would be boring! I just think it's something of nothing and had Hird carried on walking, as most players do, it's a total non event. If the game ends 2-2, it's never mentioned again IMO. It's not the best from our players to scrum him in the end, yeah they could have moved around him or just avoided him, but I presume they were probably distracted celebrating and expected him to move out the way, not intentionally dragging him into the celebration or trying to wind him
up.

It is what it is, something out of nothing on both ends, unfortunately, the lad Donohue has lost the plot. No issues for me, I've said all I'm going to say on that issue and I wish Chesterfield the very best for the remainder of the season.

I don't want to take away from the 4-1 victory, which was a massive confidence boost for us and a good victory overall. Let's hope we can go on and push the top 2 again and strengthen our position inside the playoffs.

It could have all been avoided for sure, I'm guessing our lot got caught up in it somewhat seeing as that was a bloody important goal, could see how much it meant to everyone.

I'll stop and frame by frame it for you if you like.

Mantom scores and runs to the right towards our fans. He gets engulfed by Rico Henry and Tom Bradshaw who grab him as he runs. He is running towards Hird but since Bradshaw and Henry grab him finds it hard to get our of Hirds way. If you watch it you can clearly see him try and duck under Hirds arm to go past him. Rico Henry grabbing him however means he cannot do this and he and Henry run into Hird.

Both Henry and Mantom hit Hird but manage to get through past him, with no eyes anywhere other than going towards our fans, and then run past him to celebrate on their own. You can CLEARLY see this on the video. During the collision between Henry, Mantom and Hird it gets a bit frustrated from the collision and thus grabs Demetriou as he runs past. Demetriou, Sawyers and Hird then have a bit of a wrestling match followed by Bradshaw, Chambers, Tommy Lee, the referee, Olly Banks and then later Dion Donohue.

Watch and pause it yourself. But if you still can't see this and have your own blinkers on to believe the Walsall players for some reason wanted to take Hird with them after scoring a goal to send them into the lead then so be it. If Donohue hadn't come in and swung a punch or two at Demetriou then we wouldn't be here wasting our time talking about this accident.

If you want image proof I can provide that too.

This is basically what I saw when I watched it earlier. Absolutely nothing in it, accidental from the Walsall players and then stupid from the Chesterfield player.

Not sure how he was meant to get out of the way when, if they intended to or not, about 5 Walsall players surround him from various directions to celebrate with the scorer who for some reason with the whole of that end to run to decides to run to the bit directly behind Hird. Whatever his intentions it was always going to lead to issues. Hird gets wrapped up by the celebrating players and thats never going to go down well and he actually does well not to react to it all...just a shame the young lad doesnt follow that lead.

Surely anyone can see there was nothing accidental about it? You don't accidentally drag someone by their top 10 yeards in the opposite direction and oyu don't accidently swing a left hook at someone either.
