I would love to see Benteke as a "lone striker" in and just around the penalty area with Sturridge used in a much more fluid role slightly behind him.

I think both can benefit a lot from each other and the link up between them would be very interesting as Benteke is a strong header and proven goalscorer and Sturridge got speed and movement and is also a proven goalscorer.

Gazzetto Delboy Sport are reporting that we are interested in taking Bentekkers off of you!

He's probably an option somewhere in line after Slimani. If we can get him for £20milll I'd have him but he'd essentially be an Ulloa upgrade and so wouldn't be a first 11 player and I don't think he'd want that.

What teams would he be a first choice striker in that he'd be prepared to move to? No to mention who could afford the money we'd want in order to sell him, which I'd guess would be a minimum of £18m.

I'd imagine everyone is hoping a Chinese club will swing by and drop £40mill on him and pay him a disgusting amount.

He'd be a great buy for Sunderland if they stay up

Bump. What are people's opinions of him now? Palace are probably one of the most suited clubs for him and he's had a good start and he scored the fasted qualifying goal for Belgium last night.

It was clear he was good but it didn't work out for him at Liverpool.

Any Palace fans on here?

He was a good player at the wrong club. He needs the team to view him as the primary outlet and Liverpool no longer work like that with everything, including the scoring of goals, being viewed in terms of a collective. This is also why Sturridge is no longer as effective as he was although he has more outfield skills on offer than Benteke so still has a role to play.

Its good to see Benteke doing well, with the right team it was always likely, and Palace fit that bill.

He's a class above the rest of our side.

As Pags and yourself have said, wrong player for the wrong side at Liverpool, his quality though was never in doubt. He alone significantly increases our chances of staying up.

I think it's a perfect move all round really.

It'd be a shame to see him wasted on our bench because he doesn't fit our style of play. To play to his strengths it means we'd of had to of missed out on players like Firmino, Coutinho and Mane not playing to their full strengths.

It's annoying to see him do well because the talent was always there, but pleasing as well because it wasn't really his fault why it didn't work out at Liverpool. He will still get a good reception when Palace visit Anfield though.

Maybe he's the kind of marquee signing Palace needed to strengthen their Premier League status and attract other bigger name players.

No way you'll go down with him leading the line, he kept our crock of shit up pretty much single handedly for 3 seasons. Look what happened when he went. 17 points.
