Suprised a thread hasn't been started for this one.

I'd imagine we will start with the same team as Tuesday( hopefully Mathews is fit and will replace Little). Need to start sticking to line ups so the players can gel. We arnt creative enough atm so hopefully things start to click. Imperative we start to get Tomlin on the ball in more dangerous areas. A decent start which I think we can continue with 3 points. Think a sell out crowd will have a part to play.

Important we put in a good performance to encourage people to return.

City 2-0

Newcastle will be strong and I find it doubtful we will keep a clean sheet here, hopefully being the first bumper crowd will push on City to getting something from this. Even if the result doesn't go our way hopefully we put in a performance to take into the Villa game.

Not expecting to win this by any stretch and I would take having 4 points from this and Reading. We were vastly improved in the latter and wasted a lot of chances which is better than having the none in the first two games. Just read somewhere as well that there is a certain set of results that can put us up to fifth with a win.

1-1

Think Newcastle are starting to find their feet a bit, and we've only played well in patches so far, so think a 2-1 defeat is on the card. Gayle to score both because of course he will.

Said anything from the games against Norwich, Newcastle and Villa would be a bonus because we're not at their level just yet. Would take a point now.

Matthews has to come back in, Little would get taken the piss out of by Ritchie or whoever plays on their left.

O'Donnell
Matthews, Flint, Magnusson, Bryan;
Pack;
O'Neil, Reid;
Kodjia, Tomlin;
Abraham.
1-3 loss. Gayle to have an absolute mare and get subbed after 50 minutes, similar to when Gray visited AG with Burnley.

They keep seeing there'll be 22,000 there tomorrow, but the capacity of the build is 26,000 odd. Guessing not all of the upper Lansdown is being used.

They've staggered the ticket sales, found out today at 2pm they could put more on sale. We've sold all the tickets available until today, another 700 left. 22,350 sold currently.

Think we can get something out of this. If Dummett plays he's gonna be in for a tough game, whether it's either Kodjia or O'Dowda up against him.

More changes from Rafa today, seems surprisingly attacking. Dummett dropped, Lascelles, Diame and Colback returning.

Their team is ridiculously strong. Gayle hat-trick, the little c***.

Pretty even first half, both teams having periods of pressure and moving it well without creating much. Newcastle had the only decent chance and scored from it; tidy finish from Gayle but acted like a bellend going towards the City fans instead of his own.

Next goal key, think Newcastle will comfortably close/kill the game if they get it.

Jesus, following that on Twitter was horrible. Sounds like we were camped in our own half for the entirety of the second half there but doesn't sound like there were too many chances despite Selz' best efforts.

First away win for 8 months - massive relief!

Wank. Dull. Shit. Lack creativity.

No cutting edge when we go one down against an organised side. We're better than the bottom few, not good enough to compete with the top few.

More interestingly, the off-the-field antics in the south stand were interesting. Fair few Toon around me go up when they scored; they should know that you can't do that at Ashton Gate. Took the stewards about 5 minutes to remove them, they got absolutely swarmed by a plethora of City fans.

Fuck off dan, deserved a draw out of that at the very minimum.

Pretty much the same 2nd half, Gayle the difference in the 2 sides.

Thought we should have been more direct in the last 10 minutes and the switch to 352 nullified Tomlin.

O'Neill rightly man of the match, but I thought Goldbourne and Magnusson had good games too.

Ref had an odd game; good with the advantage and delayed whistle, but some odd decisions.

We certainly didn't look out of our depth, just need a little more in the penalty area.

No we didn't, we literally didn't create a chance, and the one shot on target was Tomlin from 25 yards that took an age to reach their keeper.

Agree with that, but thought Kodija almost scored at the death.

Gayle the difference and they deserved the win, but only because of him.

Yeah, should've scored, tried a volley when he had all the time in the world to take it down.

What about magnussons goal bound header that hit the back of Flint's head.

And the shot that flint blocked on the line first half. We were no worse than Newcastle and the ref was atrocious

On the line? The six yard line, maybe.

Disappointed but not disheartened, deserved a draw out of that. The one bit of quality won it, and that move must have featured £20 million worth of talent. We dominated a lot of the ball second half but lacked that little class which Newcastle had. Freeman is not good enough for this level - such a shame, thought he'd set the championship alight.

Surely 'you fat bastard' chants to Tomlin were ironic? Never seen such an over weight travelling support as today.

I feel frustrated today, a draw would have been a fair result. Though Newcastle had a more potent cutting edge.
We had we penalty shouts in the first half, however 2 of those would have been harsh if given. That said there was a more obvious handball than the one Reid was penalised for minutes later and a tug on Kodjia where I think if he had gone down a penalty would have been given. Those are the 2 that would have been harsh penalties, however, when Aden Flint has one defender climbing all over him and another pulling him back I have no idea how the referee couldn't spot it, it was blatant.
For the entirety of the first half the ref seemed to have different standards on what was a foul for us and what was a foul for Newcastle. Second half he was better in terms of fairness, but still utter turd. O'Neil should have been booked after clattering a player after the ball was gone and there was a point where either Tomlin should have been sent off (second booking) for kicking a Newcastle defender when he missed the ball, or the Newcastle player dived and should be booked.

Lee needs to have a word with Tomlin about his arguing as he's already been booked twice for dissent, and against Burton could easily have gone on to be sent off for it.

Oddly our 3 worst performances have been wins and our 2 better ones defeats, but that's just football.

Bring on Villa

Was heading in either way. Don't just conveniently forget things so you can spread your misery.
I'm not miserable, we lost to the side that will win the league. I'm not arsed at all.

Where were you sat out of interest, for I was directly behind it and the keeper was moving across to it.

Your earlier post suggests you are arsed, we put in a decent but not great performance and if life was fair would have picked up a point, certainly wasn't "Wank. Dull. Shit."
I was sat directly behind it, S22.

I was observing, it doesn't mean I'm going to suddenly slash my wrists because we lost at home to a side that have spent 40 odd million this summer.

I thought we lacked any sort of idea in the final third, hence the lack of shots and chances.

Pray that Matthews isn't crocked, Little is utter gash. He planted his first touch straight into the stand with no one around him.
