Yeah I hate to say it but if we continue to play so openly, Reading will turn us over. 1-3.

I'm going 2-1 Reading too, I don't expect us to be completely overrun or anything, just expect Reading to be too strong in the end.

Looking forward to this. 10th visit to Ashton Gate. Not sure how we will line up with Sa suspended. Hopefully Ferdinand will be back fit. Think it will be a draw.

Don't know what to expect in this, thanks to Orlando Sa for helping us out in advance, though Vydra is still quality and Blackman is firing...

Need to win this really for our ambitions of top 6.

No idea what we'll do without Sa, he was the focal point of the attack. Who comes in? McCleary, Piazon, John or Hurtado? Lots of options..

(Though we all know it will definitely be McCleary and a shift back to 4-4-2)

Fair play Dazza, 10 times to any away ground is a good effort. The old Gate has long gone now so you will be seeing a different place tomorrow.
FYI you are back in the end nearest the park nowadays. I've seen a fair few away fans at the wrong end and it's a bit of a walk due to building work and access.

You are a bunch of pessimists suddenly, eh? Lighten up, ffs!

You had a hard start to the season with a very good L1 side facing up to some battle-hardened Championship sides. You had few fresh faces, and other teams came at you hard and fast. But you got a few decent points and an unexpected win up on Teeside. Cotterill probably underestimated Brentford and Birmingham City, in particular, but other than that, you've done OK.
I think you'll go into the Reading game determined to stay solid at the back, with 'not conceding' a lot more important than scoring.
Reading will be a bit overconfident with their early wins and so the game will probably end up 0-0 which would be a point gained for you, maybe even 1-0 to you.

I agree with most of that Herts.
We are actually playing some great stuff. The main difference between the divisions is the finishing IMO. Whereas last year we could miss a few chances and leave ourselves slightly open at the back, this year we can't. We are still missing chances while our opposition aren't. If we weren't making those chances I would be concerned but we are making loads. We DO however need a clinical finisher in our side. Kodjia is looking very good but we need to start taking more of the chances we are making. That is our main issue at the mo and I'm sure it will be sorted.
The defence is starting to look a bit better but we are far too open at times and we are being punished savagely for it. This is a great league TBH.

I admit I love the Championship. It's tough, and you are right...it's about the split second of finishing...the clinical approach. We had that the first three months last year and the last two months, but not in between.
If you look at the stats for Brighton..the game could have ended Brighton 0-3 Rotherham, but Brighton finished clinically. We had twice as many shots as Bolton last week, and almost twice as many on target. It could have been Bolton 0 - 9 Wolves. It wasn't.
I think both our clubs will focus on keeping the back door shut over the next few games.

I think the problem for us is to find a happy medium between our attacking style and keeping the back door shut. Personally, I don't think we have found that happy medium yet at this level but I'm sure we will.

You did on Tuesday night to be fair, the only reason you didn't win was because of a screamer of a goal and the superb Jordan Pickford.

Nice to hear for us City fans and we appear to be getting there TBH.
Tough up here isn't it? Bloody great though!

Will we get away with drinking on North Street?

Yeh should be fine. A couple of home pubs only but plenty of places further on up.

I keep going into every game fancying our chances. We really are playing decent stuff for large parts of games but as been said we miss our chances and the opposition will score with their first.

We will get there. And we will give someone a bit of a hammering soon. I'd take 1-0 mind you. Sounded a lot better on Tuesday night defensively.

As David says there are a couple of pubs you just won't be allowed in but generally there's no issue. From the Tobacco factory up (going away from the ground) you'll be fine. In all honesty, the pubs that are home only aren't as bad as they were and it's a bit OTT in the modern era IMO.
It's the same as any away game, behave like an idiot and you will draw attention, behave normally and you'll have no issues at all.
It's been a lovely day in Bristol today and if tomorrow is the same, down by the river could be extremely pleasant.

I reckon at some point we will thrash a team. Sooner or later Kodija will 100% get into English football (if he hasn't already) , and hopefullly either Wilbraham gets back to good form or Cotts eventually see's sense and starts Agard instead. I'm also confident for this one (so basically that means we'll get thrashed 6-0 and end the game with seven men) , so i'll go for a 2-0 win.

No Anton Ferdinand which could be a big loss.

As expected McCleary comes in for Sa, so could be 4-4-2 with Blackman/Vydra up front, or stick with the 4-3-3 with one of those two central.

Only other change is Danny Williams comes back into the starting 11.
