SO we have gone from 4th at the end of November to a genuine relegation six pointer following a disastrous run of 2 wins in 16. Weirdly I fancy us tomorrow night though, based on pretty much nothing more than Paddy McCourt's debut on Saturday.

Col fans - are you any good? How do you think you'll do?

Oh please don't fucking lose this Notts. Win a couple and let me ignore the rest of the season.

We blow hot and cold - can either look half decent or appalling. Our home record is an embarrassment, but then we finally switched to playing two up front at home against Bristol City and looked excellent in going 3-0 up. I have no idea what to expect from us game to game.

Massive, massive game though, and one that we really need to be winning. Surprised to see that Notts have slipped down so quickly - I was expecting Derry to really help you kick on to be honest, perhaps not quite to the extent of your start to the season, but then certainly not to fly down equally as drastically.

We have a lot of crap players, lack of real quality bar injured saviour Sir Jimmy Spencer.

There is a real lack of quality in our team. I don't think bar Carroll, Mullins and Hollis many of the rest of our 11 would walk into many league one starting 11s

Edit - our defence isn't that bad actually, Adams and Muzzy are also good enough for most league one teams

Its when you get to the midfield the quality really drops off

Curtis Thompson's great although his assets aren't really attacking apart from the odd powerful driving run forward. I do think the defensive frailties are blown out of proportion, it doesn't help there's no faith in scoring more than one to win a game - last season when we went 2 down to Vale we beat them 4-2 and no-one remembered the shite defending, on Saturday we defended well and Carroll/Edwards blunder was the only real decider. Hollis getting dropped was ludicrous and nothing more than Derry pandering to the idiots who thought he was the problem.

I'd like to think that'll change a bit though with the likes of JCR and McCourt giving opposition teams something to think about. We just need a striker to put away the chances we WILL create (because our main problem for the first half of the season was we hardly created any and still found ways to score and now we do and find ways to not score). Hopefully Murray is back soon - and I remain convinced Spencer will be back, he's training with the first team now, he can't be that far away. I'm not expecting him to back and fire on all cylinders but even if not fully fit he'd at least provide an intelligent presence who holds the ball up and gets himself in the right positions.

I don't think we have many crap players at all, we just lack good ones too. They're all just meh from the first team through to those we haven't seen for months. The only properly awful ones have been loanees like White and Dawson.

With Spencer I just hope we don't panic and rush him back ahead of time.

Well last time I thought Notts would beat Vale, that backfired.
So Colcester win, but to cover that I am using reverse psychology and to cover that I am using reverse psychology

Hmm I think there is some truth in that, I don't think we have any "exceptional" talents like we have had in Judge etc. I do think our "average" or "meh" players are towards the lower end of league one teams. Most of our midfielders would probably get a club at this level but would they start? Not so sure...

We also have an in balanced squad - too many central midfielders of the same quality.

A draw would be a nice result, failing that a Notts win.

This sounds absolutely shit so far. How we aren't losing yet is anyone's guess.

Dominate. Can't score. Concede sloppy goal. Rinse and repeat.

Pretty easy win in the end, 1-0 flattered them. Colchester were so bad though, worst team i've seen all season by miles and we played Crewe at their height of their incompetence.
