Can't remember the reason why my third one didn't go ahead. I vaguely remember it but something obviously came up. Oh well, I think my first one was good but the second one was probably a bit average. I think in the middle of all of the games, it got a bit stale where not much would really happen and it would just be going through the motions.

Yeah, nobody really got into it with the later games. Plus killers tended to get a tactic of "lets kill off the most vocal people" to kill the game off a bit... a great tactic for actually winning the game, but made it a lot less exciting.

We should have done a NOTW hall of fame, like sheep has. The first nominee:

THE BISON. All who remember his legendary performance know why.

The Hall of Fame would just be The Bison. Greatest player of all time.

If anyone remembers any features of previous games that they liked/didn't like, do make them known.

I think mostly it's just a case of sticking with the obvious stuff really. The seer/angel and what not.

Some questions for you though:

1) Have you decided on a theme yet? Or the roles? If so, what sort of theme are you thinking you'll go for?!

2) Are there any changes/innovations you're looking to bring to it? I ask because while I love the idea of bringing new stuff in, I still think that for now at least, the first game ought to be a bit vanilla really. We're going to have a lot of new players this time I reckon and we don't want the learning curve too steep just yet I reckon. Though of course it's your game, so if you do intend to put anything new in there, then fair play.

3) How many roles/places/characters will there be? Are you planning to just stick with the 20? We had 25 in the game show marathon and that's just the people who made it through the word search bit. I reckon we've got a bigger pool of people who are into these nerdy forum games now... not sure 20 will be enough, some people may end up missing out!

4) Most importantly, any idea yet on when this will run? As I'm sure everybody knows because I won't stop banging on about it, I'm off on holiday for a long time in just over a month. This had better not run while I'm away or so help me God, people are gonna die.

1. There is a setting/theme that I'm working on but there could still be changes.

2. There are a couple of small changes that I've got planned. A few characters with one off abilities that has happened before and a couple of things that could be triggered if certain things happen in the game but I'm not planning anything major as I do think the game runs best when it is kept simple.

3. There will be roughly 30 roles which don't need to all be filled as I can make adjustments and if there is loads of interest then I haven't ruled out going above 30 but I wouldn't want to go too far above that in case it becomes unwieldy.

4. I haven't decided yet. Rammy's GameShow Marathon still has a fair bit to run by the looks of things and I won't set a date until that has finished. The date will be dictated by when I've got time to get it started. I don't know how many games Rammy has still to come but it looks like we've still got a fair bit of that to come so I can't imagine that it will get started before April, probably looking at mid-April but that could change.

Mid April sounds good to me, that's when I'm back! :D

Though something has just occured to me... if you intend on running this as soon as the game show marathon ends, I'm going to end up either missing out on the end of that or missing out on this... unless there's like a 24 or so day gap between them :dk:

Unless the J5 get elimianted from the gameshow marathon... but at the rate we're going, I just don't see that happening

(Every sentence must now finish with a smiley and if you don't like it... Bring it on :box:)

It won't be straight after the game show marathon. It will probably be at least 2 weeks after, possibly longer. Don't think starting it the minute the game show marathon finishes would be the best idea.

The ones I played on another forum the narrator put little clues about the wearwolves into the posts where a killing had happened.

Eg: there could be a milk carton mentioned in the text which would lead people to Rammy. That would be to obvious but just to give you a idea. Some clues were dummys or just coincidence.

Added a bit of a detective angle to it.

In the early hours of the morning TomPNE94, the town drunk, stumbled upon a disturbing sight. At first, he was sure he was hallucinating in his inebriated state but after rubbing his eyes and pinching himself, he knew it to be real. Mayor Bison was dead. Not only that but completely ripped to shreds, his remains forming a tick shape at the foot of the Town Hall's steps. Who would commit such atrocities? This once quiet, nondescript community now have to step up to challenge of identifying the treacherous amongst their ranks before facing a similar fate. But first, a new mayor must be appointed...

Rules change/roles are added but here are the basics copied from the first NOTW:
I'll run over the basic rules quickly, but if for any reason you are in any doubt what so ever on anything, feel free to pm or ask me for clarification. In this game, there are going to be 19 participants. You each assume a role of a fictional character in a village, 3 of you shall be werewolves on top of that. The role of werewolf will be completely randomly assigned, and it will be completely hidden from everyone - It will be revealed to you if you are a (un)lucky villager or a beast of the night via PM!
The game works in day and night cycles. During the day, the villagers vote amongst themselves in this thread, by speaking, asking questions or whatever you may have to say, on who they believe to be a wolf, and thus who they will lynch. At the end of the day, the person with the most votes is hanged, and it is revealed if they were wolf or human.
During the night, there is to be no talking amongst the villagers in the thread, and the wolves will PM me their choices of who to kill, with 3 names in order. 1st will be worth 3 points, 2nd 2, and 3rd 1, and which ever person has the most points from the 3 wolves combined votes, will be killed. That person is then out of the game completely and is not permitted to talk in this thread until the game is over, regarding any matter at all, you must just observe.
Wolves must also vote during the day, as during the day, they are just normal villagers.

Those are the basic rules, alright so far? It's not complicated if you pay attention.

On top of this, added rules are:
-There is a mayor position to be voted upon by the villagers, whoever gets the most votes becomes mayor (whether he be wolf or human is another matter entirely....). The mayor gets the deciding vote if the votes are tied for who to lynch, if he or she doesn't respond in time, I will randomly choose. If the mayor is lynched, or killed by werewolf attack, then a new mayor is elected the next day.
-There is a position of Seer to be allocated to a villager at random, again to be completely unknown to the rest though. This person can PM me once every day, asking the nature of a specific villager - i.e. werewolf or human. I will answer completely honestly, and then it is the seers decision if they want to risk being found out as the Seer (and being werewolf bait almost definately) to save/condemn a player, or to keep quiet and try and sway the votes through charismatic and logical thinking perhaps.
-Please do not, under any circumstances try to ruin the game in anyway. Taking a screen shot to prove your innocence, or prove something else is forbidden, and ruins the spirit of the game. You can PM each other, but I'll simply have to trust that no one cheats. Do not reveal your aims, or goals or anything.
-You can say whatever the hell you want, otherwise! In this thread, it makes the game far, far, far more interesting if you stay in character, and you are actively encouraged to lie at times. There is no penalty other than perhaps a possible lynching! If you want to pretend to be the seer, so be it. If you want to say the seer contacted you, and said something, so be it. The game is about deception.
-Gametime day will last for 2 days in real time, where upon the voting and general talking in this thread will be closed at 9pm (or thereabouts), after that it is officially night time. Daytime is reintroduced the moment I announce the nighttime murder.
-Please, no outsiders to the game to post in this thread.
-Put your votes in bold, or I will miss them. Your last vote before deadline is the one that I will count, however, please try to keep it to one vote. :)

Winning
If the villagers are reduced to an equal number of werewolves, i.e. 3 villagers, 3 wolves, then the wolves win.
The villagers must eliminate all 3 wolves however, to succeed.
There are points allocated however, for personal gain as well. You may, or may not be assigned a personal goal which you can choose to achieve or not, it only affects your personal tally. Survivors of the winning team will earn +2 points. Every person who correctly voted for a lynch on a wolf will get +1 point, and as I said, there are also personal goals for some people.

I'm suffering from this too. When I didn't have a life I was winning TFF Party, The Mole and TFF Wars (Off the back of Spidey). Now I'm just making up the numbers.

Try this Tom ;)

You're all gonna get a warning if you continue. You've had your fun, now get a grip and stop. It's not funny, and it's not clever.
