Hi,
So I am a Third year student at Southampton Solent University currently undertaking my dissertation looking into the effects of commercialisation on football fans. As part of my research I am collecting primary data via a online survey.
The survey is completely anonymous, if you would wish to take part please follow the link below I would really appreciate it.

Any further feedback would also be appreciated,
Thank you very much

Hate surveys where you can't leave a comment. Something like commercialisation of football is far too complex to reduce to one tick box without further clarification. In my opinion a lot of the answers have a "but..." attached to them.

Also, Football Studies is a real genuine degree? U wot m8?

not a very good survey

for example

Do you feel that commercialisation has brought more negatives than positives to the professional game?

a 'do you' question requires a yes/no response, not an agree/disagree one. if u want an agree/disagree it would have to be a statement. i mean it's pretty clear but you're at a uni it kinda does matter

like this

Do you feel that commercialisation has negatively affected the experience of being a fan?

asking if u agree with a question is all manner of confusing, it should be better

plus some of the questions are unclear even disregarding the answer/question format conflation

e.g.

How frequently do you watch your team play live in the stadium a season?

home stadium or all stadiums?

Just an initial part of the primary research, Interviews conducted later will hopefully clarify the 'but'
And yeah you can literally get a degree in anything I guess

Mainly assesses the Social sciences of football; Race, Homosexuality, Influences on player migrations, how football reflects society as a whole and how in turn football can re shape the opinions of society.
The business side is more straightforward, football clubs are businesses. They're quite an interesting case study really when looking from a business persepctive
In all honesty its a fun degree, who knows where it will lead. Many potential avenues

I would like to know what people have responded to the half-time show question positively. And then slap them.

Thank you to everyone who took part in the survey. Your responses helped a lot.
As an extension of this research question, if you would like to, please feel free to comment further on 'the commercialisation of football and the effects it has had on fans'
I would love to hear your opinions on anything related to this topic, in particular any elaboration on the questions in the survey
thanks
