I was shocked. I put £15 down expecting change as most are in the region of £12 (think it's just us and Wealdstone that are £10, although I could be wrong). Was shocked when I didn't get change! Ho hum.

Looking forward to returning next season though. And Bath - hopefully we get them on a Saturday this time. Been Tuesday nights the last two seasons.

Just hope we get Dartford/Maidstone at home after Christmas so our new stand is completed. Will be a ballache beforehand as our capacity will decrease to less than 3,000 I'd imagine.

Just looked at the Conference South table for the first time in ages... thanks for Staines Town, love Wheatsheaf Park! But if Farnborough end up in the Isthmian I will hold you all accountable.

We're £12 unfortunately. Yourselves, Maidenhead and Hemel charge £10.

Hayes & Yeading charge £12 to watch a game at York Road, it's a tenner for Maidenhead.

Ah. Thought I paid £10 somewhere recently!

£12 is about right for this league I think. Anything more is stupid.

We have also signed Alex Osborn for a further year. Strange one this one.

Highlights from Saturday. Cracking FK from Sean Lucien for our opener, shocking goalkeeping for our 2nd, defending for our 3rd is pub league standard.

Yeah, Maidenhead have been rotten in the second half of the season. Nearly all of the players are out of contract in the summer and I think a lot will be looking for new clubs. New manager in, new players for a new season.

I remember them days. Having to practically rebuild the whole squad in the summer. Horrible.

Maidenhead have had the same manager for nearly ten years. It feels like the time for a change. I guess it'll all start changing after the County Cup game in early May.

Well, well, well.

Jamie Day sacked. Although I am shocked, I am not disappointed. We were absolutely terrible for the last three months of the season.

From what I have heard, he was shit behind the seasons and his plans for the squad were what pushed us into sacking him.

Wow, that's an interesting one.

Who would you look to to replace him?

The timing of the decision is just strange, sign 3 or 4 players up for new deals next season and then sack the manager. What if the incumbent doesn't want them at the club?

Very strange. Expected great things of Jamie when he went there. Strange timing too.

I expect a swift return to Welling?

Or Braintree...

Southern Shayman - that's the obvious answer and whilst money isn't in short supply at Ebbsfleet, it's still money up the wall.

Day and Braintree would be a match made in tinpot heaven.

Devonshire would also be unbelievably good for Ebbsfleet, champions next season if they hire him.

Depends on the clause in the contract rather than the time left on it.

Strange timing what with letting him sign the players he did to new contracts but I can imagine this is the owner saying "I've had enough of my money going to complete waste - I want results." Brown was given longer than he should have been and perhaps Day wasn't given long enough.

The problem I have had with the last two appointments is that nobody was actually interviewed for the position. Brown was Varney's man from day one while Day was just handed the job out of the 90+ (reported in the NLP and local rag - not just a figure I have plucked out of thin air) applicants. This time there won't be as many applicants but we need to have a serious look at those that do apply and we need to wittle it down to 4 or 5 strong candidates and interview them thoroughly.

Whilst I wasn't convinced with us appointing Day, I was happy to give him time. At least any new man coming in will have enough time to build a squad... Can't imagine the likes of Alex Osborn, Tyrone Marsh, etc. Being kept on under a new management unless we go down the route of appointing Daryl McMahon (I fucking hope not)...

Terry Brown would have been my choice from day one but it wasn't to be. Will he get sacked by Margate if they don't go up? Could we tempt him if he does indeed stay with them? I don't know. Wouldn't mind Devonshire though.

The results since Day took over have been spectacularly average but the performances have been shocking and showed no signs of getting better. I believes it would get better next season with a few quality additions but by all accounts he wasn't planning to strengthen...

Hardly surprising given how far off the playoffs you are with the resources at your disposal. Below Concord Rangers FFS!

With the pull Ebbsfleet have you'd like to think that it'll be third time lucky and they get someone in who can deliver the success thats required. If not theres always Sol Campbell/Teddy Sheringham ;) .

How does Day's record stand up against Brown's?

Don't even talk about Concord fucking Rangers. Please. Along with Wealdstone (except for Aberstone), I'm starting to despite them more than fucking Dover and Dartford!

We simply have to get this right. I think we will. The Dr is fed up of his money being wasted.

It's definitely something gone on behind the scenes. Notice in the article Day wasn't thanked for his efforts like most others are when sacked...

Not sure on Brown's record but under Day we won just 7 out of 20. Drawing 4 and losing 9. Performances just got worse and players didn't give a fuck, bar Bonner and Cunnington.

Sutton have sold 200 of their heavily subsidised STs and Weston have slashed their ST and matchday prices for next season. Good on the pair of them.

Luton have just tweeted that Taylor Miles is a trialist for them in a development game today, he's been superb for Concord this season.

Daryl McMahon has been released from his contract at Boreham Wood and will take charge of our game on Saturday alongside Steve Gritt.

McMahon is supposedly becoming our Academy Manager full time next season, so I guess that would rule out him being First Team Manager. I have a good feeling about this. He is an exciting, up and coming young coach. I'm confident we will get somebody with experience and possibly have McMahon as number two.

And that's before the club has begun it's main advertising push.

A couple of other bits and bobs
We're not having a full-time reserve team next season. There will be an under-19's team, an academy team and friendly matches
We've announced a ground share with Sutton Common Rovers FC of the CCL. They've been playing out of the borough for the last 8 years (as Mole Valley SCR), but will be at GGL for next season on our 3G pitch
Our first pre-season friendly has been announced. Away to Jersey.

Have we covered this yet?

Dartford have rolled out every non league clubs favourite, the 'Five Year Plan' in which they've stated the aim to go full-time. http://www.kentonline.co.uk/dartford/sport/five-year-plan-for-darts-35599/

Meanwhile, possibly coming to a ground near you soon, Margate will be looking to go full-time should they win promotion through the play-offs. http://www.thanetgazette.co.uk/Margate-considering-time/story-26380007-detail/story.html

Ebbsfleet fans, how wuld you feel about Andy Hessenthaler as manager?
He obviously knows Kedwell, Fish and Rooney etc.
Reckon he would be perfect for you if you could get him.

Oh Christ. Margate doesn't surprise me at all but I'd have thought Darts would have more sense. Less clubs should be full time, not more!

I personally wouldn't want him.

We have had 94 applicants (at last count) for the job already. Of course not all will be serious.. but fucking hell. More than last time.

I did have a chuckle at the five year plan for Dartford.
