I'm holding my opinion until I see him. Remember you played him in a team that used to pump it long to the strikers. He took Fleetwood up and Accrington wanted to keep him last season, can't be that bad..
Yeah but he had a major knee injury between Fleetwood and coming to us. And we did try to play under Hockaday, in fact it was actually Barry who was one of the main culprits for pumping it long because he so often went for the 40 yard cross-field glory ball.

I would be reporting his new club to The FA, as they are not allowed to directly approach a player who has a contract at another club, but quite clearly they have spoken to him and offered him a deal to move again.
What is the point in contracts in football these days. Pointless, most are broken and the players now seem to have all the power, then use that power as and when it suits them. Those paying their wages are powerless, despite contracts being in place. They say it works both ways, but i only see things going one way these days.
I am glad our club have been amicable & professional with him, but it grates with me as to how it has come about.

Well it doesn't mention his contract anywhere in that article - he might have had a get-out clause if a FL club came in. No suggestion that the club were screwed over in that article.

We've signed right back Nick Arnold from Whitehawk... Anyone know anything about him??
We signed him a couple of years ago just after the start of the new season, but Garry Hill obviously wasn't impressed, and Arnold left a couple of months later to join Whitehawk. Think I'm right in saying he only made a couple of sub appearances for us in those two months, so he probably wasn't on the pitch for more than a total of 20-30 minutes.

Because newspapers never want to print anything that may be deemed Libellous....

Delighted with the Jalal signing, solid keeper with experience. The defence on paper looks streets ahead of last years now, really impressed. Hopefully Riley can stay fit, but if not we have Curtis Tilt waiting for his chance.

We've signed striker Adam Marriott on a one-year deal following his release from Stevenage. Spent most of the last 2 years injured by the looks of it!

I love Yan! For some reason his song here was about being building a house and being polish even though he was born around here :brill:

Performance related contract though which is a good idea. Danny Cowley reckons we wouldn't have got him without his injury past. Decent enough according to the Stevenage forum so hopefully now that he flew through his medical, he will repay the faith in him by scoring lots of goals.

Klukowski amd Nti? I thought York didnt have any money?

Good players. I'd have happily had both of those here.

York, we've signed Luke Summerfield. He sounds terrible. Please shed some light.

Delighted is a strong word. I'd have been delighted had we signed Taylor. As it is I'm satisfied that we've signed Jalal.

Summerfield is very good player but also the most inconsistent player I've seen, think he will be good for you if you have a strong player with him,but it's rumoured you are after berrett as well, they certainly don't work together and formed an awful pairing hence why we went down

Nti wouldn't cost much it's just because he's under 24 years of age so it will be some compensation.

I definitely don't buy into the opinion that Taylor is one of the best keepers in this league, he was just an improvement on Belford and people became more accepting of Taylor's shortcomings because of that reason..

Yeah Nti should be a steady signing at this level. We had him on trial 2 summers ago under Wilkin and he didn't sign him, he could have been a handy player to have, especially with his pace and power.

If you don't particularly rate Taylor, then I wouldn't get too excited by Jalal. Rhys is a much better keeper of the two.
Saying that, I still think Jalal is a solid keeper for this level and will do a decent job for you. You will get annoyed though when he decides to chuck the ball in his own net in 5 or 6 of the away games.
