Oh you're one of these people who reads something into pre-season....that's interesting.

Nope I am one of those people that have an opinion on how a player plays the whole time. It's quite simple, I think people overlook the things he does well and only focus on the things he doesn't, and he isn't alone in that. You could say the same about any other player, but they seem like tethlon compared to Alan.

Alan Power is a top quality player, possibly one of the best ever to play for Lincoln. I fully expect him to be made captain, be an ever present in the team and be rightly seen by all supporters as a club legend.

The St Andrews/Whatever sponsor name it's got stand will also be officially renamed "The Alan Power Stand" and a statue of said player will be erected on South Park Avenue, replacing the statue of Cartman which currently stands there.

Anyone disagreeing with this clearly knows nothing about football, and are not fit to call themselves an Imp.

Ex-Alty keeper Tim Deasy and Scunthorpe left back Marcus Williams both sign deals.
Dave Syers still training with us but no news of signing as yet.

Oh dear :ffs:

As long as your first choice keeper doesn't get injured you'll be fine...

As for FGR. Sounds like a very good player, the sort of player who costs a lot of money.

If FGR don't go up this year they should just fold.
Is that the Coughlin that played for you?
As for Swampy's massive outlay at FGR, surely he's got a along way to match the money that Kleanthous has put into Barnet.

We've signed Mitch Hancox after he trialled with us earlier in pre-season.

Just so you know, he ended up as our 3rd choice keeper last season behind a loanee and the guy who was brought in to be his understudy. He also had the indignity of having to drop down to play for our under 21's. Wrexham fans warned us about him, they were proved right.

Out of interest, what's so bad about him? He always seemed okay whenever he played against us, and has apparently been solid in pre-season.
He's very much second choice, and I can see us bringing in more cover if Dixon gets injured, so I'm not too concerned.

Deasy will be okay for Guiseley, but Drench is better - what happened there?

He looked decent in the game he played, before he began trialling for someone in League 2 I think? Birmingham fans are surprised he has dropped this low, so it looks like we now have two good left backs.

Drenchy started a uni course i believe, has a young family so less travelling in the North worked better for him and i assume Halifax waved bundles of dosh too :£

Yeah, Mansfield or someone like that. I thought we'd missed the chance to get hold of him but it's good that he's signed a deal now. Hopefully another striker to come as well.

Strange we've got 2 left backs of such quality signed, not sure its entirely warranted - unless Dave Fitz's injury is worse than first thought and Hancox is some short term cover and to get a longer look at him.

Still need another forward. Would be happy to give Wes Fletcher a chance on short term deal, or if someone really wants to help us and pump a shed load of cash in we can go for Tyrone Barnett!

EDIT - Or not as I've just seen he's already gone to Wimbledon!

Coughlin never seemed to like coming off his line for crosses, and had a habit of producing costly clangers on a very regular basis. If you're lucky you'll never actually get to witness this.

Just Coughlin missing as reserve keeper for us, I think.

I'd be keen to know how many fans think their team's got stronger/weaker this summer. Going purely off names I recognise, Lincoln, FGR, Tranmere, Torquay, Barrow, and maybe Gateshead and Macclesfield look like they've strengthened, but nobody else (don't know about the promoted/relegated teams).

Also, I've counted 14 players moving to league clubs from this division - that seems higher than usual, and maybe teams are more willing to take a chance on players at this level now?
