Yeah that’s a definite possibility. He’ll have Maynard or Keane as the defensive midfielder alongside him and then Jennings or a new number 10 ahead.
Could be that, could be Rooney in front of Maynard/Keane with CJennings wide left

Is there a 'Going for it' table?
Stockport must be top by a distance at the moment.

I'll be compiling the Going For It™ standings for 20/21 in due course when things are a bit more certain.

Besides, when a Proper Club is quite clearly Going For It™ hell for leather like Stockport are then it is absolutely fine.

This Stocky bloke/person is a cocky git. I hope he/she still has reason to be so come Christmas...
Cocky how?

I'm hopeful we'll be in the mix but I'll be surprised if I have us down as favourites come the start of the season.

I doubt that we have spent 75k on Rooney to play him in a different role to where he was so successful this season. A Keane/Maynard pairing is very defensive and Gannon said he wanted goals from his 8 this year in his interview on Thursday and then a few days later along comes Rooney.

Gannon seemed a bit coy on where C Jennings would play and hinted that a back 3 might be plan A this season so wouldn’t be surprised if he had to make do with a place on the bench on opening day.

You should make playoffs under challinor this time around. Big club, big budget and he's settled in now
It was all going swimmingly for Challinor at the back end of last season, but Covid has well & truly put a spanner in the works.
Our budget has rumoured to have been slashed from £700,000 to £400,000.
The chairman want a the fans to raise £200,000 per season over the next 4 to keep us afloat.
Most of the club staff have been made redundant & we've just lost two decent players.
We seem to be in a bit of a mess to be honest.

That's a decent fee for a NL Club to pay (can't be too many at that level in recent years?). Did I miss Stockport suddenly coming into money? Or have they played a coy game, saved up in the NLN and are now UNLEASHING the budget?

They’re heavily backed this season.

We were taken over in February by Mark Stott who is involved with the VITA Property Group. Speaks on investing in the infrastructure which includes a new training ground and sprucing up EP. Wants to get us up to the Championship within the next 7 years.

We finally got a takeover through from a local businessman, who has money and ambition, in Feb.

So we’re FT again and the aim is promotion.

A budget of £400,000 would be about the lowest in the division. Can't see that being the case.

We are skint, talks from all involved including Jeff keep pointing towards the impact Covid has had on us and tempering expectations when it comes to signings.

Not sure our budget will be as low as 400k but definitely reduced quite a bit. Sure Raj said he's got enough to cover this season but beyond that he isn't prepared to put more in.

We've got Rhys Oates on trial so that's a good indicator the pool of players we can afford

But that makes it worse [or better for us] when it all goes wrong

Average striker at Dagenham and stats over his career prove such. Might get 12-15 goals if starts each week over a season, one year deal suggest he might be back up.

Well I was having a pretty good day until I read that.

Jesus Christ we lose one impotent striker for potentially another, can’t wait for us to announce Jonathan Franks for a third time.

Nothing will go wrong, Stockport County never disappoint and the last 20 years never happened. Move along.

Don't think we'd be signing him as a pure no9 anyway, think that'll be Bennett's role

Another great signing. Play anywhere across the front. Was excellent either side of Danny rowe
Nice.

If you can just give Croasdale, Walker and Williams then we’ll leave current and ex Fylde players alone ;)

You don't stand a chance. Only players we let go are players we don't want. The Danny rowe situation proved that. Our owner won't let anyone go that'll weaken us. He wants out of the North at the first attempt

Agree. There's a reason he's had a million clubs down here already, he's got good technique and stuff and usually starts well at a club then tails off and ends up somewhere else quickly.

I think he edits his own Wiki as it says he's 6'4"

Was gonna say when I saw the signing pics of him on our site that he looks nowhere near 6’4.

Not if Part-Time Woking are in the league.

Can anyone even remember if they went down or were even in this league this season? I'll check again on the opening day to see if they are in here or in the National South.

So he’d rather keep unhappy players?

I thought he said he was cutting the cloth? Going off Twitter It seems he’s trying to fiddle scouts and players out of money and there is mutiny in the ranks.
