Gateshead have signed experienced midfielder Russell Penn on 1 month loan from Carlisle.

Would like to give an insight into what he's like, but honestly I don't know.

We signed him in the summer, but he's been no where near our starting 11. I saw him for about 10 minutes off the bench at Barnet a few weeks ago, but that's it.

Russell Penn that does make me chuckle a little bit. Leaves York because he didnt want to play in the National, now hes going on loan to a national league side. Suprised he didnt go back to York mind

He was ok for us, I think. Probably looked better than he was in his first loan with Doe next to him. Probably a decent signing for anyone in this league.

Really? From what I saw I thought he was a big part of Dagenham's problems... I chuckled a little bit when Eastleigh signed Essam and Obileye, I was sure that if they were Eastleigh's central defensive pairing they wouldn't go up. Now I chuckle that both have already been binned. Saying that both are probably mid Conference players.

In other news Dean Cox, that's Orient legend Dean Cox, who before his injury last season had the most assists in the Football League over the prior four seasons, Dean Cox who has rejected Northampton, MK Dons, Portsmouth this season (and Preston last), has signed for Isthmian Premier Burgess Hill Town on loan until January.
