He had a prolific time in lower non league football and did quite well at Guiseley too.

Paying £500k for Palmer is madness, but not as insane as handing a 3 and a half year contract to a 30 year old with an alright but not exactly amazing goalscoring record.

Think I said it when Tozer signed, but they’ll be a few 30+ lower league players looking at their phone the next few days praying a North Wales number comes up.. at the moment it’s the football equivalent of winning the lottery. Palmer has gone from probably starting to wonder what he was going to do post-playing, to being handed a £600k+ contract, out of the blue, just like that. Fair play!
