Just a place to keep a handy list of your club's squad now that many of them are starting to take shape for next season... also a brief list of ins and outs. I imagine we can keep a much more accurate list than BBC or Sky do. Giving player positions and if they're transfer listed / on their first pro contract would also help but isn't mandatory.

Try and keep to one post per club (which of course means we're relying on those who start them to keep them updated).

Hery is an attacking mid not defensive, isn't he?

Dunno, I hear conflicting reports. maybe best to just call him a central midfield. I kept hearing him described as defensive until Curle today described him as having attacking flair and a 'French attitude' (god help us all).

From the clips I've seen he's definitely an attack minded player. In his own interview he says he can play anywhere in midfield but he prefers the attacking role.m

Miller is another one, one minute I hear he's a right back, then a centre back, then a right back, have even heard he can play in midfield.

Just as long as there is at least someone who can play there and not just fill in there. I would guess Atkinson at the moment is our most natural right-back, though a lot of fans preferred him in a back 3.

I don't know, Lincoln fans say he played all the games at right back for them.

My instinct says Atkinson will be primarily a CB and then second choice RB, and Miller will be the first choice RB. We'll just have to wait and see.

I like that Barnet squad. I actually think you lads could be the surprise package this season.

Pains me to say that by the way because you were right irritating c*** the last time we were in the same league!

I'm a younger fan (started supporting in 2009), but have heard all about the Barnet-Carlisle rivalry in the 2004-05 season!

All of our additions have added something to the squad, particularly Dembele and Lisbie.

Just need three more and we are all set to go!

Just need a second keeper and David Stephens to sign. Not sure we can include Matty Stevens any more than we can the other seven promoted from U18s to the newly formed dev squad. An extra central mid would be handy but isn't essential

Ian Rees

Lee Angol (awaiting confirmation of contract extension)

Rees was released along with Charlie Smith and Longden back in May.

Also I think it's a near certainty that Angol won't sign a new deal. The one definite and one probably ITK posters on Outlaws have both said he's off for sure and we only offered him a deal to guarantee ourselves a fee of some sort.

I stand corrected - we've got so many players its difficult to keep track! I don't think he'll sign a new deal either which is a big disappointment, but I suppose another door is open to Banton and others.

I was going to ask about him, considering I thought he was a key player and didn't appear on the list.
We've offered a contract that he is considering. If he goes then who ever takes him will have to pay a fee due to his age. I think he knows he can accept the contract at any time but is shopping around to see if he can get a move to a bigger club

Interested to see what sort of budgets teams are operating in this division at the moment, because I'd be surprised if ours was under £2m, maybe getting close to £2.5m. looking at our squad size and the stature of players signed so far, with Craig Mackail-Smith possibly to join too.

Hopefully Brentford get a good fee for Andre Gray which would boost these coffers. £4m would equate to over £500,000 coming back to us.

Midfield is definitely getting quite crowded now. Got to say, I'm amazed how well we've done in the transfer market this summer.

Galliford is a midfielder I believe Kenny.

I reckon we'll start to see some outgoings this week, no way we start the season with a squad that big.

As for outgoings I can see Mark Onyemah going out on loan to a Conference National/South club for the majority of the season. Jake Howells looks like to be joining Cambridge. Ryan Hall had a very poor end to last season, and with a bad pre-season, I can see him being shipped out before September - I really can't see a future for him here. Luke Guttridge has struggled with injury big time in the last 18 months; he's not getting any younger and it remains to be seen how many games he's going to be available for. Andy Drury really needs to show something in the opening weeks, because last season he seemed like he only puts in 75% effort - always seems to be saving energy; but willing to give him the benefit of the doubt to show what he can do.

What's jake Howells like?

Short answer: jack of all trades, master of none.

Long answer: he's decent enough technically but completely one-paced so it's extremely rare to see him skin a full back. He didn't even look quick in non-league, his pace (or lack thereof) is extremely noticeable at this level. Good penalty taker. Very loyal, works hard. Versatile, perhaps too versatile for his own good - despite playing for us over 300 times at such a young age, he's never once nailed down a consistent place in the starting XI for any significant amount of time. His best position is left mid. He can do a job at left back but is not a long term solution there. Under various managers we toyed with the idea of moving him centrally, presumably an acknowledgement of his lack of pace, but it didn't work too well as he's a bit lightweight. He's been a squad rotation player under Still and never really looked like nailing down a place when all were fit. That said, he's a very useful sub to have due to his versatility.

I think 99.9% of Luton fans will wish him well because of his service to the club. I reckon probably 90%+ won't be overly bothered about him leaving in footballing terms though.

Saw him skin our full back countless times at your place. Although, our defence wasn't exactly... Good.

Yeah, that was probably his best performance in at least a year. Probably more a measure of Tait's limitations than Jake's qualities. If you're expecting to see that kind of performance often, you'll be sorely disappointed.

The best way that I can think of to highlight Jake Howells's mediocrity - he's been with us since he was a schoolboy, an actual Luton supporter, broke through in our darkest hour, has played over 300 games before his 24th birthday... and yet, as far as I can recall, he's never once had his own song from the fans.
