Wonder if Spear was a staunch blairite in the 90s so he could always base his entire personality on his smug satisfaction of 'backing' a winner.
Sauce? They've consistently been a point or two behind Labour in most polling, so any poll showing a three point Con lead is likely to be an outlier. Not that I'd want to facts to get in the way of your-ing or anything...
What would be different about the Conservative Party now if you'd been successful in your leadership bid?Slightly off-topic, but Malcom Rifkind is coming into my school on Thursday to give a talk. What should I ask him? Needs to be worded tactfully or will not be allowed to ask it.

Nope.if you live in south east 70k would be a challenge to be fair
Not disputing that. Doesn't mean £70k isn't a good salary wherever you live. These guys blather on about being in it out of a commitment to public service. And for some of them it's true. But the terms are clear. If you're motivated primarily by money, go and work for a bank or a tech company. If you're dedicated to public service or want to go down in history in some way, accept you'll earn less and be a politician.these guys get 100k as an absolute minimum if private sector
I'm not having it both ways. All I'm saying is that you can't excuse corruption simply because MPs could earn more elsewhere.yeh but you cant have it all ways, you either give them great credit for taking a lower wage than they can get, or you suggest wages elsewhere are too high, either way Malcolm and most MPS could earn way more.
So he's gone back on his word again then? The Tories will win again thankfully with a coalition with Rich man backward looking Farage.
Will be the greatest partnership of all time.
All Home Office departments (with the exception of some counter terrorism teams) facing substantial cuts too.http://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2015/mar/07/police-chief-hugh-orde-tory-cuts-put-public-in-danger
Scary shit. The Tories have cut the police budget by 26% since 2010 and are proposing another 20% if they're re-elected. Seriously, how can any right-minded person consider voting for them? It truly amazes me.
Don't follow this...So he's gone back on his word again then?
Sounds about right.
Shows you what they think of the Tories in the city where you reside Speary boy!Looks like another landslide guys
Never mind Johnny Prescott is being brought out of retirement![]()
He doesn't look all there Osborne, he's like a ventriloquists dummy! And to think he's in charge of the coffers of most of the United Kingdom!
