I'm essentially in control of this forum, so I'm going to come up with a few rules. No rules are going to get you banned or suspended. That's up to the admins, not to me. However I may request some post deletion if things get out of hand.

First things first, and the most important rule of all, do not derail threads with personal conflict. So for example, do not ruin the match thread for others if you're just insulting the other person constantly. If you're arguing about football, that's totally fine as this is a football forum and we want to build debate and arguments but if you're going to ruin the thread with personal conflict that has nothing to do with football, please take it to PM's.

Second, do not come into the threads just to troll and to say how much you dislike South American football. This is a Europe based forum with a few people in South or North America. Many times in the past, there has been banter with people saying that South American football is terrible. Keep that for the shoutbox and out of these threads because we're all trying to enjoy the tournament, we don't need people coming in to offer nothing to the threads and claiming that others on the forum don't care for South American football.

Lastly, banter is perfectly fine but don't cross the line like I said above.

That's about it really. I'm not restricting banter mind, just certain types like the South American football trolling, or even North American since this tournament has quite a few of those sides. The rest of the forum rules apply here as well with some slight changes for this specific forum to keep it clean and so we can all enjoy the tournament.

Are we allowed to slag it off if there's a rubbish 0-0 with no real quality?

Of course you are.

I mean people who just walk in to say South American football is shit then never come back in the thread. Or telling me that no one cares. That sort of thing that isn't needed.

I'm ok with general opinions too. If you want to say something like "I'm not a fan of the Copa America, so I probably won't be following" that's totally fine. Im referring more to the people who walk in to just bait for likes saying things like "South American football is shit, alder shot could beat Argentina" that sort of thing. This is all given some of my history in the box. Banter is 100% ok but don't cross the line.

Of course I don't have the power to delete posts but I am in control of watching the forum and could talk to the admins whether things are getting out of hand. I'm sure most people just want to enjoy the tournament. As for arguments, as I said as long as it's relating to football, it can get as heated as possible. Just don't take it to personal conflict.

I probably would be up for getting into this more than usually this season, but so close to the Euros I'm less inclined to. Will be tuning in with my mate from Kansas on Saturday morning though, for what I believe is the opener? Hoping that might ignite a bit of enthusiasm for me.

I'm not gonna be strict at all, I'll be very very lenient as I want people to have discussion and to enjoy the tournament and I believe that on its own needs a balance. That's why I started this thread. Martino made a thread to mock this one but he doesn't realize that his own thread has fuck all to do with the Copa America so it's posted in the wrong section. I won't enforce the rules there, no need to :p

Banter is 100% alright. Just don't cross the line, as in don't get other people involved in making fun of South American football through a thread. It kills the atmosphere of the thread and makes having a debate impossible. Which is why I thought it was proper to have these rules because it's happened before.

You can joke around as much as you like. I will keep saying that over and over again until people are clear banter is 100% ok. I'm just talking about the sort of banter that goes on for a long time and ends up ruining threads and peoples enjoyment of the section and tournament.

Again though, I'm lenient.
