Surprised a thread for the biggest derby known to man hasn't been started yet.

Can't see anything other than 3 points to the Janners. As much as it pains me to say it, they look nailed on for promotion whereas we continue to flatter to deceive.

Two things that must happen to give us a chance is to drop Joel Grant and to play Manny Oyeleke. Oh and I'd give my soul to see Clinton score a 98th minute winner in front of the Devonport end.

Sadly I think it will be a 3-1 loss.

3-0 Argyle, Another graham Carey wonder goal (he's scored about 3/4 of them already), and then two for Jake Jervis.

If Clinton Morrison scores even if we win 6-1 I will be depressed, he is the definition of a dickhead.

Oh and can you try and bring at least 1000 fans this time? I know you are tinpot but it is embarrassing bringing less than 1000 for a rivalry.

Would expect around 1000. It's poor but then having to put up with being subjected to abuse from all the local knuckle draggers is enough to put anyone off. Plus we all think we'll lose.

Come on Clinton. Legend.

Sounds like it's going to be a bumper crowd, well, apart from in the away end...

We'll probably get dicked on again. They look alright this year whereas we flatter to deceive. Hopefully we can fluke something with Clint Dog knocking in the winner and then jumping in with the Plymouth fans to celebrate. It's all I want.

I doubt it very much Trapdoor, even the most stupid of Argyle fans realise that your not really worth getting to excited about. Piss Pot Team, Piss Pot Fans and a Piss Pot Stadium

Bloody hell we are Plymouth Argyle not Galatasaray like some of your fans are making us out to be! I mean yes you will probably get called names but isn't that a given in football let alone in a rivalry... As with physical abuse we don't go round attacking innocent City fans...

Cornwall?
You would think with their excellent university they would be able to read a map but obviously not. It is literally the only thing that they can use to claim that Devon is theirs. (Even though Plymouth is quite obviously in Devon)

Everything else though Argyle win... Support, stadium, youth system, history, current form/team, recent results, etc. etc.

We are just a much bigger club in general, I'm not necessarily trying to insult Exeter with this statement it's just quite obvious that this is an extremely one-sided rivalry. As much as I love being much bigger than our rival in every single way I am jealous of teams like Oxford/Swindon, the Sheffield clubs and Burnley/ Blackburn as they are fairly equal in terms of size, history and fanbase. It means better banter as the only points Exeter fans seem to make are 'you won't stay top of the league' and 'Portsmouth are a bigger club than you'.

One sided rivalry? Rubbish. Both sets of fans care about it more than any other match. You virtually selling out shows that this is your most important game. Nothing worse than the "we don't care about little old Exeter" attitude. It's just covering your arse in case we manage to beat you.

Also, I will bite, your youth system is not a patch on ours.

You misinterpreted what I said, I never said that we don't care about this game, this is our biggest rivalry by far... I'm just saying this rivalry is like Manchester United having a rivalry with Burnley

Hmm I'll give you Grimes and Nicholls, but look at Lloyd Jones who is at Liverpool, Christian Walton who is at Brighton (although on loan to us now to replace McCormick as he's injured) and Sam Gallagher who is at Southampton among the players we've produced in the last few years, as well as Curtis Nelson, Reuben Reid and Gary Sawyer all coming from our academy.

Raise you Dean Moxey, George Friend, David Fox, Scott Golbourne.

Plus how many of your lot have made international appearances? Barely any... Jamie Mackie..?? You got him from us! Our academy currently has at least 2 youth internationals both of who will undoubtedly be big stars judging from the hype around them, plus matt grimes is captain of the U20s.

Lets face it, we might not be as good a first team as you shower at the moment but our academy is head and shoulders above yours. Is your academy in the premier league cup? Is it fuck... knocked out by Millwall LOL. But don't worry we are still in, playing West Ham in the next round. Should be a good match.

What so a few average Championship players? And we have produced quite a few internationals if your classing youth national teams, Christian Walton is the main goalkeeper in the U21s for England, Sam Gallaghee plays for the U19s, Lloyd Jones is in the U20s, Dan Gosling played in every age group and is currently int the Premier League...

Anyway, it would be nice if you could give one more valid reason that Exeter is a better club than Argyle in any other than the fact that Plymouth is close to Cornwall and that both our academies are fairly decent.

Like I said, your support is absolutely terrible... 850 for a rivalry, I reckon that if your ground had unlimited tickets we could bring at least 3/4k for most visits. I reckon when we play you at the end of the season if we are still top we would be able to bring 7/8k yet you cap us 1.5k (which we always sell out) where as you can't even fucking get over 1000 with an allocation of 2000.

Also, was that 'we might be as good a first team at the moment' some sort of way of trying to say that sooner or later Exeter will be better than Argyle??? The only time you've been in a higher league than us is when we were going through the roughest patch in our history while in administration where as Exeter were having the best time on their history while in League 1.

Lets be honest, in 5 years time we will be in the Championship while you are still where you belong in League 2 or non-league

Not sure why you're trying to carry this on, your normal fans, and everyone in the Devon, all achknowledge that we have the superior youth set up. We currently have 3 youth players being called up by England & Wales at their respective age groups, one of whom our very succesful head of youth development claims he is one of the best players for his age in the country. Last year we had 2 England u20 call ups while they were both still on our books, something no one in this division could not claim. Last season we had 9 players from our academy feature for us in first team competitive games. A year prior we reached the under 21 premier league cup quarter finals and in all honesty should have won the match. We were the only academy not at category 2 to reach that stage. A recent inspection at our youth set up claimed that we are actually operating at a category 2 standard and the only reason we are officially at that stage is down to our number of coaches and infrastructure in place (but don't you guys train with Torquay and not even have your own training ground?). Also, when the Torquay academy closed down and all their players had trials at Plymouth and Exeter we highlighted about 7 key players who were the best from the selection, needless to say we got all the ones we targeted as they were aware that if you want game time and a better chance of progression in the game then we are the obvious choice. You and Yeovil picked up the lot we weren't interested in as you're just operating at a standard far below ourselves. Our academy has produced us over £2million in the past 5 years, has yours even done that in your history? Having players poached by other clubs at 16 for a nominal fee makes you very, very little unless they go on to make a number of appearences for the club that signs them. Claiming success for players like Gallagher and Jones highlights how little your academy does. You didn't develop them, Southampton and Liverpool had them in their youth squads and did the key developing of them.

Fine your team is better, you have more fans and a better stadium, congratulations. But in terms of what your academy does in comparison to ours, it really isn't close.

And yet you're still slumming it in L2.

Oh and your youth system is better than ours? Don't think so. In recent years we've sold Moxey, Friend, seaborne and Grimes for the best part of £2.5M

Currently we have Tom Nichols who will go for decent money some day soon. 22 goals in his first full season and a bit. Moore-Taylor is also decent. And we have a couple of youngsters representing their country at u16 level.

Okay youth maybe not as good ;)... But let's be honest you are probably not going to get far with that money, Exeter isn't a big enough club.
