I don't really get why it's an issue - if she auditioned and they thought she could play a 14 year old in that then what does it matter what her real age is? Not sure if they've dropped her for fibbing or being too old...

Used to enjoy watching Corrie when I was younger. It was quite sad, really! John Stape, what a hero.

They must have known her real age. I reckon they are trying to publicly save face and probably offered her a leading role in a few Granada productions if she keeps quiet.

Really sad news about Anne Kirkbride. As someone who remembers Deirdre as the weatherfield one nearly 20 years it has shocked me.
