Different type of midfielders completely, but Barkley is much more inconsistent than Coutinho. Ross has a good shot and is good/powerful at running with the ball but hr goes missing a lot and to me he seems to have little to no game intelligence. Maybe that will come.

Coutinho is Liverpool's best player and can be genuinely world-class one day if he can add goals to his game and continue to improve.

I see Barkley as a bit of a luxury player at the moment. Someone who is on the edge of games the majority of times but has the ability to change any game in a moment with a piece of brilliance only few are capable of. For our national teams sake I hope he kicks on and finds more consistency in his game, and that goes for Oxlade-Chamberlain too.

Why are people obsessed with comparing players that are completely different to each other? Barkley is obviously much more of a powerful player, and quicker, while Coutinho is much better technically and generally uses the ball much better.

A much better and fair comparison to Coutinho would be someone like Santi Carzorla.

I know i wouldn't start such a thread it's just sad..........but being as it is here i might as well respond to your post. I agree Barkley is more powerful but he also scores more and creates more goals. Countinho has scored 1 flukey goal and Ross has scored 2 and created 4........do the maths !

I voted for Barkley ( i know i know) he looks unplayable at times and his consistency is improving. I can't see Countiho improving more than the level he is, he looks good in a bad bunch............but thank god we have him.

Please let him stay for at least the end of season.

Only judging by the games I'm seen them play in the flesh I would go Coutinho.
Just think the lad oozes class. I think Barkley is a good player, but wouldn't get the same rep if he wasn't English.

Coutinho must be better than Ronaldo in the games i don't watch him in to balance out the games i've seen him in because every game i've seen him play he's looked on about the level of Cleverley on a poor day.
