What's all this 'become' nonsense? I think any fair minded football fan can see that PC is already the greatest player to grace the Premier league. And if football existed before '92, which I'm pretty confident it didn't, he'd be the best player to ever to grace the English game.
So, reading that back, he actually is the best ever player to grace the English game, and therefore the best player in the history of sport, and the greatest human being in living memory.

Ronaldo and De Gea soon.

Ronaldo took about 3 years to start to be idolised and played at United for 6 seasons, winning everything in that time. I wouldn't exactly call that abrupt. Ronaldo played for United just a little less longet than Torres and Suarez did for you combined. One of those players left you for league rivals and the other wanted to a year before actually leaving.

Your other example is a prediction. Says it all.

Who wouldn't take 50 million for already finished player? Ronaldo wanted to leave United way earlier too. And it is more like United really didn't have any good players at the club that Madrid or Barca wanted. Apart from Ronaldo when was the last time any of those club came for your player and bid in insane amount of money. Says it all.

You lot were crying when Torres left, you're now revising history because it's convenient. Unfortunately people have memories.

No good players but we were winning titles and reaching CL finals.

I can think of 7 better CAM's I'm the premier league. Oscar, Eriksen, Hazard, Ozil, Ramsey, Rooney, Silva... I'm sure there are a few more.

Also that's just now, over the next few years Coutinho could definitely equal or surpass most of those players - maybe all of them - and become the best of the best like Neymar said...

Gerrard once said Joe Cole could do whatever Messi could do and better.

You obviously didn't see Atletico much last season, or indeed yesterday. [Maybe only when you got hammered from them in the CL]

Supremely talented player but lacks end product. Still has a lot of work to do.

Both him and Sterling are notoriously inconsistent. Although i guess that's understandable at their age.

I'm starting to think our fanbase is worse than almost any other when it comes to mixing up form and current/potential ability. As soon as a Liverpool player hits form, the hype goes over the top and he's the next best thing. Then, as soon as the form drops, it's reverse. It's as if we never have good players, they're either awesome or useless.

Just look at RAWK it tells you all you need to know about Liverpool fans.I agree with your post but every club has it's whoppers but you do seem to have more than most i agree. The best thing is yesterday was the SKY build up to ' stevie's last derby' you had Carragher and Redknapp as the pundits and Alan Parry as commentar, all three devoted reds and you still wonder why people hate your club.

something something Lucas Leiva
I've always rated him, as you know. Funny that the end to our winning streak coincided with Lucas Leiva limping off.

I doubt the club has anything at all to do with devoted reds being hired by Sky; so if people hate the club, and not Sky, because of that, then that's a bit weird. Unless it's a conspiracy of course, it could very well be.

Hope Leiva is back midweek, this Spurs game is massive and the form they are showing just now is pretty scary. Liverpool will have to be at it from the off.

He's out for a month, apparently.
