1. Colchester Pl 3 Pts 6 GD +3
2. Carlisle Pl 3 Pts 4 GD -1
3. Cambridge Pl 2 Pts 1 GD -2

All to play for still then, but Colchester can pretty much wrap up the CUFC title with a point tomorrow, if they slip up though then it'll go down to the final game next weekend in Cumbria where all 3 teams would have a chance at glory, no doubt Sky will be in touch if that is the case.

Sadly I expect us to play the wrong XI, the wrong style for 60 minutes before coming to life when it is probably too late, and leave another game in 2017 wondering why the hell we can't just get it right from the start when it seems so painstakingly simple.

Team should be:

Norris

Halliday/Davies
Wharton
Roberts/Legge
Taylor

Dunne
Berry

Mingoia
Maris
Dunk

McDonagh

But won't be and will involve at least Carroll and O'Neil and possibly Williamson. We will probably miss a penalty as well. I'd be surprised if Baz is in the squad but you never know these days with us continuing to be coy on injuries (which I don't mind to be honest).

1-2.

Been ill since saturday and still not quite with it. Through the haze, I did enjoy Graham Daniels' co-commentary stint on tuesday , especially his tactical analysis, but his enduring positive atitude felt weird and might get a bit wearing. Anyway, Mike back for two matches on saturday then Doug should be back from his trip down under.

Once again, I'd go with Tom's team and Derry probably won't. That said, he sounded pretty pissed off with the defending of his chosen 11 on tuesday - it felt like we were floundering until Donny took their foot off the gas, at which point we could have won if we had any strikers of L2 standard. I see no reason not to expect a repeat on saturday but with our opening flurry perhaps sustained for 20 mins rather than 10 mins.

A gentle meander towards May awaits and my holiday plans are sound.

Our away form is terrible, our ridiculous injury list is even worse with Craig Slater also out for the season now and I don't really expect much. Having said that, we'll actually have a good away following for once with it all but sold out (only 60 tickets left this morning) so the more optimistic side in me hopes that a decent backing might help inspire a result of some kind.

I'll go for a 1-1 draw.

If the last year or so has taught us anything it's that you play Berry behind the striker. He's our best player and you don't move him to accommodate anyone else.

I'd be tempted to see how Maris does playing centrally but deeper - he doesn't mind putting a foot in, likes to drive forward with the ball and has decent tight control.

I'd go with:

Norris
Halliday/Davies, Legge, Wharton, Taylor
Dunne, Maris
Mingoia, Berry, Dunk
Mcdonagh

Derry will not play a side that looks anything like this.

Don't think I've ever known Colchester to bring this many fans so fair play, the many year gap obviously plays a part as neither team is precisely in full flow.

If we can keep it 0-0 after 70mins I'd fancy us providing Derry does his job, saying that without the tank, corr and with bez not quite right the chances of us scoring are pretty slim.

Anyway sneaky 1-0 win please.

Yep Berry is wasted as a centre midfielder, has to be further foreward. His strength is not in breaking up play and retaining possession, it's in hassling defenders and goalies into mistakes, arriving in the box at the right time and creating something out of nothing. Plus finishing obviously. Oh and he's crap at penalties. ;-)

I'd go:

Norris

Davies
Legge
Wharton
Taylor

Dunne
O'Neil

Mingoia
Berry
Maris

McDonagh

Dunk off the bench at half time if we're behind or Maris isn't getting into the game. Williamson or Elito on if we want to go 2 up top.

What a load of shit disguised as a football side we've become with Derry in charge. Can't even beat a side missing 15 players ffs. FRO Shaun and go manage some mid table connie side.

Oh silly me, it slipped my mind that Col U are a League 1 side after all. I think I expect too much from my club sometimes.

I didn't think Cambridge were that bad. If they'd pressed forwards bit more then a second goal would've happened.

I thought that we were pretty rubbish throughout really. It's annoying to keep banging on about injuries but it really has derailed us to be honest, I think it shows that it's half a reserve team out there being played in strange positions.

We couldn't have argued with being further behind at the break, it was an awful half and Cambridge were knocking it about nicely enough. Can't remember us creating anything of note and the goal was inevitable. Perhaps we arguably deserved a point for growing into it and applying a lot more pressure in the last 20 minutes or so but certainly didn't deserve to win it, although I think if the equalising goal had come ten minutes earlier then we could have done.

Think both teams will finish around 12-13th.
