Another big game for us (well they all are now). With Wycombe not playing we need 3 points to keep up the pressure.

I imagine Cambridge will be tough oppo and their players won’t just lay down with contracts to play for. Robbie Simpson made his first start in 13 months this week and capped a fine performance with a goal so I’d hope he starts against his old club, alongside Stockley.

It will be interesting to see how Storey deals with Ibehre and Ikpeazu (assuming they play). Both are real handfuls but Storey has proved to be a real hit since breaking into the first team with some top performances.

Also expect a decent away following from us, so safe trip to those travelling.

2-1 City. Simpson and Boateng for us.

CUFC 0-4 ECFC

We're due a good, healthy win. And we need all the goal difference help we can get at the moment, as that could be so crucial between promotion and another year in this league after losing at Wembley.

Stockley x2, Boatang & Taylor

We'll probably rotate the team again. Would like to see us try with three at the back

I envy you all your Xmas morning like keenness.

I think I'll just check how Foresta Suceava are getting on with their latest money-laundering owners.

Brightened my week to see Robbie Simpson back and on the score sheet.

I think, in the immortal words FD Roosevelt, Rush, The Fonz, Harper Lee and Martin Luther King..

Many of we fans are already "on the beach" and, although the team are not quite there, Joe "Bobble Hat" Dunne has said that he'll be rotating and experimenting in these final games of the season - to confirm ability of the squad to play in different formations and reach decisions on who's needed next season. We don't yet know if he'll be there next season but I think he's been "Acting..." long enough (10 matches) for bookies to be paying out him as the "next permanent manager."

On that basis, I'm not going to predict a team but the Grecians should have enough about them to take all 3 points - although I'm not expecting us to roll over and concede 4. Although, on second thoughts, I'd expect us to go for it, so 2-3 or 2-4 with us chasing the win seem quite feasible.

Easter is behind us. The cows should be out on the Common. Our "Acting Assistant Coach" (Mark Bonner) has been confirmed as taking up a "permanent first team coaching role" in a strange media release that was about Tom Pell moving up to take over his role as Academy Manager. I'm guessing we'll soon hear who our First Team Coach or (less likely) Manager is to be next season and get some contracts signed.

Safe journey to those travelling. I'm expecting Robbie Simpson to get a warm welcome back to the City - with Jordan Stockley also returning, one or both are bound to score.

Looking forward to this one. If City can play like we have done recently then 3 points are there for the taking. However, this is City we're talking about and Tis may tinker with the team again. Looking forward to my second visit to Cambridge.

Who on earth is Jordan Stockley?

Some hideous amalgamation of Jordon Tilson and Jayden Stockley I assume...

Crucial for us, optimistic we will scrape it, the players need to show they've got the bottle over the next 6 games. Tough 1-0 win. Stockley

Demonstration of how to lose a game thanks to your centre backs. 3 mistakes from them led to the three goals, otherwise we were in total control and should have been way out of sight - at 2-1 up we missed two great headers to put the game to bed. I guess that’s the difference between being 4th or mid table.

HUGE win today. From the commentary it sounded like we were second best for most of it and Cambridge could have put the game to bed.

Still, we have some real resilience and fought hard to get in front. That’s 20 goals for Stockley now which is fantastic.

Onto Accrington away which will be very tough but I think we can get a result there. It’s going to go to the wire I suspect and plenty of twists and turns to come.

yep a fantastic result. Sounds like we rode our luck in a big way in the first half, but upped the ante in the 2nd, and great for Jay to score. We needed that today, and my confidence levels for top three are sky high

We didn't look great but ground out the result. It seems like we only start playing football when we go behind... The first half it looked like we were just waiting around for the game to start. Going a goal down then kick-started the team because they realised they would need to actually makes done attacks to get any points.

The second Cambridge goal was one of the best goals I've seen this year.

I'm still drunk from yesterday. Some good pubs in Cambridge, makes for a fun away day.

Strange (and very entertaining) game. Although we played some great football and Exxeter also played some good stuff, they looked far from motivated promotion chasers in the first half but Accringtonesque in taking their gifted half chances clinically in the second half.

Robbie got his welcome song, one of my score premonitions was right and that former U, Stockhausen, got on the score sheet.

Great to see us playing 424. Hope we might see Jabo, Uche and Barry Corr able to strut their stuff at The Abbey next season but rumours suggest that Uche and his agent are chasing the money and the other two would be a big injury gamble at this stage of their careers.

For their way of playing and general approach, I don't begrudge the Grecians their 3 points and chance to duck the play-off lottery. Now can I motivate myself to go to a meaningless fixture at Satanage? - Probably not.

Stockhausen

I should still be pretty pissed off by the way we lost that game by now, 22 hours later, but it's Exeter so I don't really mind that much tbh. Always thought they played the game the right way and the games between the two sides are always entertaining, though they beat us both times this season, undeservedly so IMO, but who cares. It's Exeter and not some cheating scumbags.
