To be fair I doubt we'll face a keeper like the lad Stuckmann on Saturday! Any other keeper and we'd have scored 7!

Absolutely! Still, we did miss chances in the other games though and although I rate Ikpeazu highly I don't think he will ever be considered as a prolific goal-scorer. The positive thing though is that not many teams have the same quality as Swindon and will score a couple against us or more. I think we'll win a lot of games by the odd goal this season, along with getting a number of draws away from home.

My main worry for Saturday is tomorrow, I'd be tempted to rest a couple tomorrow with Saturday in mind as three points is more important.

Knackered from today? If we dare use that excuse if we play poorly on Saturday, then I will spontaneously combust.

That'd be the worst excuse in the history of the world. It wouldn't even make it onto Firthy's in-depth list. They're professional footballers.

Agreed, although he probably means mentally more than physically. West Brom will play the reserves but they'll still have some very good players on the pitch no doubt, the likes of Lambert, Sessegnon and Gnabry. It's still a massive ask for us to get anything from the game. Personally, although Smurf would definitely disagree, I'd prefer 3 points in the league away to Bradford on Saturday than a win this evening if I could choose.

As a seasoned Vale fan, I know all to well to not get too optimistic. I just can't see us keeping up the level and standard that we have set ourselves. If we do, I have no doubts that we can beat Bradford, however we were 'dead on our feet' last night and I fear it might catch up with us.

Win - the Barcavale train roles on, lose - Vale were tired... God knows what this result will be, City are desperate for a win but we've played a few teams these last few years off the back of them playing 120 mins and I can't remember beating any of them so I wouldn't worry about that

I said that to myself after the Gillingham game, but we battled well at Swindon, battered Doncaster and then last night speaks for itself. I think we'll be raring to go and Page will have the lads firing for Saturday after the cruel lottery of penalties denying us a memorable win. I don't think Page will allow us to become complacent and he will have us well-drilled and organised every game. Inevitably, we will encounter a sticky patch, may make some mistakes that have been few and far between so far this season, and will lose games. It's how we react to losing a game that I'm more interested to see. Obviously I don't want us to lose any game, and would prefer that scenario to not happen, but it clearly will at some point.

If we keep playing the way we are, be a bit more ruthless in front of goal, and stay as resolute at the back as we have been thus far, we will be very, very hard to beat this season and I cannot see us conceding more than 2 goals in a game at present. Swindon's goals had a little fortune to them with a sliced clearance and a couple of deflections, Gillingham's came courtesy of a backpass, and neither Crewe, Burnley, Doncaster or West Brom managed to score past us. 4 clean sheets in 6 league and cup games (with 120 mins at WBA) is an extraordinary achievement for us given we only kept 6 clean sheets in the entirety of last season. Page deserves an enormous amount of credit for that.

Page has done wonders and deserves huge credit, even players like Dickinson and Duffy who were maligned last season are in great form (although I believe it turns out Duffy had personal problems).

Just got to enjoy this whilst it lasts and see where it takes us, but to keep clean sheets against a side in the Premiership for 120 minutes with an England striker and record signing (Rondon although he was dire) up top and a side in the Prem last season is a huge advance on last season.

You wont be welcome amongst other Vale fans on here then.

I'd say meet me for a pre-match drink on Saturday, but the shivering c*** probably isn't even attending.

Really don't get the theme of people online wanting to settle their differences over a drink, but weird really. Does anyone want to meet me for a drink to discuss it?

Is that aimed at me? Of course I'm going you square. Bought my tickets two weeks ago.
