There is a story in today's papers, Man Utd and Everton are in talks for the transfer of Depay and Schneiderlin in January.

If they are not good enough for the present United side, then why would they be good enough for Everton?

Idrissa Gueye got relegated with a piss poor Aston Villa side.

Sometimes players don't suit certain clubs, sometimes they aren't used properly, sometimes it simply doesn't work out.

Schniederlin has already proven to be an excellent Premier League performer at a club of Everton's level, and were clearly better than Everton during part of that time, with Schneiderlin being a big part of that.

Depay was incredibly highly rated when he signed, so Koeman & Everton may see that potential there to be tapped. Deulofeu was in the La Liga worst XI before Everton signed him back after all. Wilfred Zaha's looking a good player after leaving United whilst disappointing as a young lad.

Also, Everton aren't good enough to be turning their noses up at players with their talent....

What is it about them that is not impressing Mourinho?

I posted this in the transfer section, you can have Depay but I'd rather hold onto Schneiderlin - it doesn't seem Jose likes him at all, though.

Schneiderlin hasn't been given a fair go at impressing Jose in matches so he either doesn't like his attitude, doesn't think he trains well or knows enough about him from his stints at previous clubs to know that he doesn't see a place for him here.

Depay just isn't good enough and hasn't adapted to being a smaller fish at a bigger club in a punishing league after being the main man in a weak league. Perhaps he'd regain some form at Everton.

Schneiderlin would be a very good pick up for Everton. Upgrades on McCarthy and would fit well with gueye, would be a very strong midfield pair for them.

Personally wouldn't sniff near Depay now, but could see the reasoning for them to be interested.

I will happily take that blame! ;)

I think Depay is a bust. He can be an Alexis or Hazard level attacker in a slower paced game, but he's not shown he can produce at Premier League intensity, or in a side where more of an all-around game is demanded because he isn't the star.

Schneiderlin would be a great signing for most PL clubs. He deserves more chances in that United midfield.

If we had any ambition left, we'd do everything possible to bring Schneiderlin back here. He's class and we should have the money lying around for it, but it will never happen. :(

For Depay, see Ryan Babel.

Koeman's interview on Sky suggests a major clearout over the next year.I hope he sees Depay and Schneiderlin as squad players and not marque signings. Just spend wisely Ronald!!

Such a ridiculous way to judge players, if they are not good enough for x they can't be good enough for us.
