Think Derby struggling badly with injuries in key positions !

They were but Martin et al have been back for a while now.

Also, when you can afford to bring in Bent, Ince and Lingard to cover for key players, there is no excuse for that sort of downturn in form.

Agree with that ! Don't think they are good enough to go up now based on current form, other teams in playoffs are in much better form and seem to have more about them all over pitch.

oh wow, Derby have absolutely robbed Brentford. How unfair is that, if they do get something from this.

Absolutely gutted. Deserved to win this by several goals. Story of our season, same thing happened against Forest on the weekend, couldn't take our chances, while the opposition score from their few chances.

If Andre Gray didn't waste every f**king chance that comes his way, we'd have sailed through this league.

Gutted. Absolutely robbed. Doubt we'll be able to sneak in now.

Got to win all 4 games now. What a terrible goal to concede.

Sorry Brentford. That was the worst game we have played, by a mile, all season. How we got an equaliser I will never know.

Awful. We would have no chance in the PO's based on that. To be fair though we've had our fair share of last min winners/equalisers including the reverse fixture. That's football sadly. Would like your team up, different from most teams and you certainly played well enough, but you can't take chances at all.

I wish I was a brentford fan. Enjoyable team to watch. Played the right way. They'll be gutted to draw but they must be a good bet for a play off place - probably at our expense of we don't buck our ideas up.

To sum us up - shit. Don't like bent despite the goals as our team are based around possession (although we didn't play like it today) and without more to his game we suffer as a team. Brentford should have stuck a couple more past us.

Pritchard is a wonderful player.

Brentford remind me of us last season. When mclaren leaves in the summer id happily take warbatton to get us playing again. Just a shame we wil not have Hughes as hell be gone.

How the hell did we get something out of that?!?

Brentford should have won that comfortably. As Mansfield_Ram says, they remind me of how we played last season. We've never looked anything like that this season, which I think is why even when we were top two I wasn't really enjoying this season.

We look devoid of any confidence, and unless something miraculous happens, we don't stand a chance of winning the playoffs should we even make them. In fact, I think I'd rather we missed out.

Martin and Bent are back, but we're still missing all our holding midfielders which is key to how we like to play. Mascarell, Thorne, Eustace, Buxton, Shotton, Christie all injured, whilst Hughes was suspended.

We're lacking confidence, and trying to find a formation that works.

That was Birmingham-esque in the stakes of robbery. It wasn't even a chance that, such a shite miss hit shot but you can't expect to give Darren Bent an open goal 4 yards out and get away with it. The mans lethal.

We were awful, Brentford were very good. After the joy we had in the first 15 mins I was surprised we sat off Brentford a little but they also deserve credit for taking the sting out of our start.
Brentford better in every single department, wouldn't have had any complaints if we'd have lost 4-0 today.

As far as we go.. We need our defenders back fit ASAP. Will Hughes obviously a massive miss too. Just our luck really, we get Bent and Martin back but lose all our defenders. That back four is horrific!
Steve's trying to get a system to work but it's just not happening.

Been saying this for weeks but we need a settled team with our best players back or we'll struggle to make the play offs nevermind try and win them.

We are so shit at finishing off our chances, been saying it all season and it cost us big time today. It would be harsh to moan at Andre Gray about that though, considering this is his first season any higher than the conference! 16 goals from him is a great return.

That ultimately though is the difference between you and bournemouth. Wilson and kermagent vs Gray and that's the difference.

Really like Brentford. I'd prefer to be in their position now than ours as they're playing well.

Was disappointed with both our crowd today and the Brentford fans. Hardly heard them. Shame.

Pritchard is class and I hope Spurs play him next season.

We've been saying all season how many chances you waste. Only team to play us off the park at Carrow Road this season and even then, you only just scraped the win through a penalty. Surprising you haven't made any real effort to address that, you'd be well in the title race had you.

Agree Gray has done so much better than anyone could have hoped, but given he wasn't expected to do very well, we left a massive hole in the side not getting a better striker in. Absolutely has to be addressed in the summer. Will be a massive blow to lose Pritchard, I would be delighted if we could hold onto the rest and add 1or 2 top quality players. Such a shame Warbs pulled the plug on Djuricin.

We did make a real effort to address that. There were some quality players lined up in Jan that were set to sign until Warbs pulled the plug on the deals. Really frustrating that he did that as we would be comfortably in the scrap for automatics and not playoffs if he hadn't imo.

I reckon Jota will probably be off too if we don't go up.

You don't really have to worry about players being off this season I don't think. Last season when we were in a similar situation we were hoping we would keep most of our players and apart from a couple loanees back we were find, so I imagine you'll find a similar situation.

After this season though I'm concerned who will go and who will stay. I think all this season the right knit togetherness shown last season has been missing and it's really showing now - Hopefully we come out of it better rather than worse.

Not sure about that for brentford. They're a small club newly promoted and with a new manager it's not a continuity or progression to know how well they'll do next year. We kept our players by bumping everyone contract for every player. Not sure Brentford will have manoeuvre to do that.

Our problem is loans and our reliance on them.

I suppose you're right - In a sense I thought it was similar how each year nobody expected the teams to do that much and sit in mid table, but both have challenged for promotion. Not sure how much revenue they gain, but considering some match days we may have 3x the attendance of them it means we get much more revenue. I think we had a £20M turnover for last season.

I don't think we'll struggle too much, we may lose a player or two but the squad as a whole shouldn't be torn apart. I mean, look at money in today's game, McCormack goes to Fulham for £11m depending on add ons, we sold Forshaw for what, £4m? If Andre Gray is going anywhere it's for a sum between £5m-£10m at least if you take into account the goals he's scored, the step-up he's made this season and how young he is.

Obviously we also have a wealthy owner who'll be working some magic financially, but sale of one or two bigger players should be enough to cover the cost of the squad and their replacements. We've a quality scouting system that's picked up players like Jota, Toral, Pritchard,Odubajo...granted not all exactly unknowns but if we've picked them up before I don't see why we can't again.

You'd be foolish to think a Premier League team or two wouldn't take a punt on our players, but I don't think there will be wholesale changes. For me, if we can keep the bulk of the squad and the likes of Diagouraga, Douglas, Odubajo, Tarkowsi and Judge then we'll still have a very good team. For me the biggest worries are losing Bidwell, Jota and Gray. Out of all three I don't think I could handle losing Bidwell. Jota is a mixed bag as I think we could get some decent money for him, Gray for me can only improve or be sold for his weight worth of gold but Bidwell, left back's don't go for a lot, I'm sure we'd make money and I'm sure Everton will have a sell on clause there too.

I'd love to be proved wrong. Gray worth 5-10m in my opinion is pure fantasy. Hughes will likely go for something between 5-10m and he is one of the most talented young players in the country. I saw nothing from Grey that would mean he's go for even a fraction of that. He may well come good next season but he should have scored against us a couple of times.

Would love Brentford to do well next season (depending of course that they can't finish this season strong) but There are too many unknowns for next season to say you may not even be challenging for survival. With FFP you'll struggle to be allowed the investment into the club unless you sell players for allot of money. Prichard stood out on Saturday and you'll struggle to get anyone with the same quality next year. Fair play though if you do

Gray is probably worth £2-4m maximum IMO. Offers something different to other strikers, but not as good as the leading Championship strikers. He's largely got the goals he has because he's played pretty much every minute. He's too inconsistent, and misses too many very simple chances for anyone to take a punt at the moment. If we had a striker like Deeney, Martin, Igahlo, Murphy, Wilson, etc instead of Gray, we would have picked up a lot more points.

Gray will get better, but he isn't there yet.

Jota on the other hand, I could see going for a lot of money. Shame he's so one footed, he'd be deadly if he could use both.

I see similarities between Gray and Lewis Grabban with us last season, same type of forward doing pretty well in their first season at this level. Norwich paid us 3M just over for him, if that's any guide.

If Gray scores close to 20 goals in his first season in the Championship after jumping from the Conference then I don't think he'll go cheap. To score 16 goals this season whilst still missing sitters and being inconsistent, he can only get better. Close to 10 is probably a bit too optimistic at the moment but if we're not pushing to sell for at least £5m I'll be disappointed, that's if a bid comes in. I'd love to keep Gray.

We may struggle but at the same time we'll be using FC Midtjylland's scouting system so I'm quietly optimistic with regards to what we can bring in over the next few years. Also I'd love to be able to bring back Chris Long from Everton on loan next season if we do stay down. I think we'll surprise people again next season, everyone I talk to seems to think we'll be picked apart and struggle or drop down a lot.

I don't think anyone will come in for Gray, just like nobody did for Martin. Don't expect them to this summer either.

I think his 16 goals is more a reflection of the number of chances that have been given to him, and less his own ability.

I am a Gray fan, but most strikers getting the chances he had would score more often.

Don't get me wrong he wastes a lot but also gets himself into a lot of positions and that's his own doing. He's done brilliantly this season, I can't wait to see what happens after he has a season or two at this level under his belt.
