Home ends sold out.not cambridges fault but 300 in a 1250 end. Could have at least sold the segregated area.

Who are these people completely unable to buy a ticket before 3pm the day before the game, but want to go and are going to go in the away end? Sound like a bunch of morons to me, hopefully they'll be easy to get removed....

I wouldn't read too much into this. I actually think a lot of people didn't think this game would sell out and the only option left is to stand with the away supporters. Most people just say this and won't be attending at all -- Possibly a couple will do this but they won't be the hooligan types.

A bit odd this - surely with your form and position the club should've anticipated a near sell out? You usually get about 8,000 anyway don't you, so not a huge amount of wiggle room.

Also, why only send us 300 tickets in advance and say that a further 700 are available on the day?

I think there's a risk that a good few U's will be put off from travelling, given the media coverage of "advance away allocation sold out" "expected sell-off crowd" etc.

Anyway, here's hoping for no idiots in the away end.

The game will finish as a home victory and we can finally put thoughts of the playoffs to bed.

They probably should have played safe and made it all ticket. I don't think they anticipated our recent results and 3rd place league position.

Prior to the last couple of weeks I think they'd have been hoping for a crowd of 9k including about 500 U's.

I don't think you'll have too much to worry about. The clubs website, Twitter and Facebook pages make it clear the match has sold out and it's talked about on the fans forums too. The local paper will almost certainly include a report tomorrow and it might be on local news and radio as well. There shouldn't be too many turning up without tickets expecting to get in. Those that do will probably just go home. I'd be surprised if many try to get in the away end and even more surprised if any cause trouble.

As for the game, you probably won't have a better chance to beat us given the 6 players we have out. We can maybe cover most of those with adequate replacments but Lockyers absence is a major loss and seriously weakens our defence.

Historically we don't play very well when we have a big crowd at the Mem so that also worries me. That has changed a little under DC so hopefully the 11 picked will rise to the challenge.

You weren't in great form when we met at the Abbey but you were still the better team for most of the opening half. I'm expecting a tough match.

I don't know whether you manager is just a generally optimistic guy but he sounds pretty confident of your chances against both us and Oxford. Win those 2 and it would be hard to bet against you for a top 7 finish.

Personally not worried about the first 11. DC has transformed a squad of 18 players (or whatever the amount of subs you're allowed these days) that can play on the first team no problem. They can all fit in and he changes tactics, formations and the squad week after week. I do worry that if Cambridge come out and play the dirty game and rough we may buckle from the lack of depth but realistically only Lockyear is out of the first team tomorrow.

I have complete faith in McChrystals ability to cover with parkes, brown and clarke/leadbitter to make our back line. As I said, we're light on the bench but first team should be able to cope.

You know what's a strange feeling though? In my time, we've never been promoted automatically and this feeling is incredible right now. I'd have been over the moon with 12th this season. However I can't help but keep thinking about the gap of us and 8th, despite being 3rd. On top of that, every game I feel like win, lose or draw and I wouldn't be surprised. Yet we keep plugging on. I guess that's the beauty (most annoying part) about Darrell Clarke, he always keeps you on edge.

Apparently rovers have withdrawn pay on the day for Cambridge fans for fears of trouble in the away end. I don't know if this is true but maybe worth advising your fans of ringing rovers/Cambridge in the morning to make sure before anyone travels down without a ticket

Our club has tweeted this morning to say that away fans can still pay on the day. The uncertainty will put a few off travelling all that way though I'd imagine!

I'd expect a fair few gas in there with you, hopefully they'll put some sort of police segregation in there once they can identify who's who, let's hope that there's no trouble
Safe trip down although hope you leave with 0 points

Result and performance confirmed we have a potential top 10 team/manager and lower mid-table squad, Bristol probably need to defend better should they falter and end up in the play-offs - but must have been great to watch for the last 2 seasons (ground/ownership issues aside).

A touch of sun burn (that wasn't the weather issue that caused me to hesitate about an open terrace ticket) may have affected my judgement but I was warmed by the welcome offered by a proper set of fans and the handshakes and thanks for the charitable 3 points as we left. It seems our Shaun was less sanguine - and I'm pleased to hear it.

Although I was a bit disappointed how open/positive we set up, rather than a more spoiling approach, I guess it was 3 points or bust and we found out a bit more about (rather than covering up) the limitations of some players against decent opposition.

Another disappointing performance, Rovers were decent, effective and clearly a better football team than us, but much like most teams we've played this season they really weren't very impresive, and we've gifted them at least the first two goals and possibly the third as well (I only saw the guy pick the ball up and score, it sure as hell seemed like a mistake from us). 3-0 probably a bit flattering but the right team won, can't argue with their form at the moment, looks like they'll be going up automatically and I'd back them to hold their own at least in the division above, Clarke is clearly a very good manager.

Defence has been much improved but yesterday they were collectively poor yesterday, uncharacteristic mistake from Norris, the two full backs having improved recently were back to "normal", and little impact (apart from a cracking OG) from the two centre halves.

Ismail is going to blow hot and cold from one week to the next and yesterday was freezing. Berry again very quiet, Dunk probably needs a rest to recharge his batteries as he still looks a bit flat. Spencer and Williamson were trying but had little to work off.

At the end of the day where we are in the league now is pretty much exactly the right spot for this group of players, I still feel like we're going in the right direction and the re-signing of Dunk means we've got 6 of our starting XI for next season currently signed on IMO which is a pretty good base to start off with, with a few others who I'd certainly keep in the squad, but we'll need to nail the permanent signings in the summer. I'd really like to see us play a bit more freely, and we've done it under Derry, but it seems to have been put on the back burner sadly, and overall our results under Derry are good but we need to cut out these horrendous defeats that we've had 4 or 5 of, we seem to win ugly and lose uglier, which isn't a great precedent. I certainly trust him to get the signings right, he's made some good moves with what limited wriggleroom he's had, and we have to remember that we are missing our #1 centre forward (and arguably our best player), but it'd be nice to have some encouraging performances to close out the season as well.

Credit to Cambridge who came to have a real go instead of parking the bus but in truth it probably played into our hands. We normally struggle more against the teams that get everyone behind the ball and play for a draw.

Nice turn and shot from Bodin for the first. The keepers a bit unfortunate because it bounced right under him but I expect he'd think he should have probably kept it out.

The second was a quality finish. Great cross from Leadbitter and Bodin did extremely well to guide a header home from that angle.

After that there were a few chances at both ends and I wasn't totally confident of 3 points until another superb finish by Taylor put the result beyond doubt.

We maybe should have had another goal and Cambridge could have had a couple on another day as well. 4-2 might have been a more reflective score given how open the game seemed at times.

I think the battle for the top 3 will go right to the final day. Hopefully we're still in the mix.

Yeah, the second goal was excellent, headers from that kind of angle require great skill. We could have scored at least a goal, but then your players also missed a couple of great chances just before the end of the first half, so in a way we were lucky we were only 2 goals behind at ht.

You say we didn't park the bus, but imo, that's what Derry should've done, at least for the first hour. I believe that when any side is playing in front of a packed house, and when playing against high flying sides, the most important thing is to frustrate the home side by sitting deep. The natives will get restless and hopefully the home side will then start to give the ball away when under no pressure. Then you go for it in the second half.

I think you lot will go up automatically this year. Imo, there is not a lot between you and Plymouth, but you've got the momentum going at the right time.

Accrington and BR to battle it out for 3rd. Plymouth's run of fixures are horrendous.
