Looking more and more likely that he is going to fail the F&PP test right now, a fair few media outlets reporting this. Mainly the Daily Fail, meanwhile Talkshite have reported that he has the funds and it is a matter of time until he is confirmed as owner.

A lot of us Villans have been sceptical as to whether he actually does have the funds to take over the club, and it is now looking more and more likely that he doesn't. Seriously hope we don't end up with Randy bloody Lerner for another season, though it would sum up the luck of Aston Villa FC in the past 6 years or so.

Hoping he does actually have the funds and passes the test, but he is looking more and more like a Carson Yeung, we really don't need two dodgy Chinese owners in Birmingham, it's not often you'll find Villans feeling sorry for Birmingham, but a lot I know (and me personally) feel sorry for the blues that they have that crook running their club. However, if he does turn out to be another Yeung, it does look likely that the FA are going to do something useful for a change!

Surely you would be better under another season of Randy Lerner than someone who's got as much money as me?

Absolutely, this is why I'd hope the FA do something useful if rumours are true. However, there were apparently two other buyers interested, so I'd hope one of those steps up in the event that this falls through due to his lack of funds.

Though now the BBC are reporting that the takeover is 'Not in doubt', essentially, no one has any fucking idea what is going on.

Makes me laugh, every club in the West Midlands is up for sale bar Stoke and Walsall. I fear it will be matter of years before we finally find an interested buyer.

It's took us 3, and he's looking like a potential crook already.

Makes me smile when fans of recently departed PL clubs cry and whinge about their recent trials and tribulations, clubs have gone through far more shit than you and don't play that card. Look at the likes of Sheff Utd, Coventry, Oldham, hell look at Wimbledon FFS.

Yes, I am aware of that, as are other fans, but you can only talk about your own club's troubles, as they are the only ones you personally experience, surely?

I'm sure you didn't moan at all when relegated to League One then, no? Because let's face it, Truro FC are in a far worse position than that.

Bore off.

You bore off you silly Brummie sod. You've had a couple of years of hardship which did include the FA Cup final and spending monies clubs in the FL can only really dream of. Stop being a moaning fanny and man up. You may even begin to enjoy football again.

PS when we first came down a long time ago we had to rely on freebies, a youth team and loanees, you'll have no such issues.

From what I've read on the BBC Sport website it seems like all is going through fine. He's already moved money about to pay Lerner the initial fee and has proven that he's got funds to cover debt and also to sustain the club going forward.

Sounds to me like the media are making stories from nothing purely because the FA and FL are taking their time to ensure there are no repeats of people like Yeung

We've had 6 years. And I feel I am entitled to moan about the running of my football club, as I'm sure you and your fellow Wednesday fans would if your owner had completely abandoned the team for the past 6 years, and then the new guy he had lined up to take over looked potentially dodgy. This, coming off the back of the worst season in Aston Villa's history, and our lowest points total ever (this includes the 2 point per win seasons, and even the seasons where there were only 12 clubs in the football league ffs).

As for your PS, congratulations, but things change, and if Randy were to still be in charge I've no doubt whatsoever that we would be doing the exact same, and if this guy turns out to be as dodgy as it looks, we still may!

If I see you moaning about anything to do with your club in future, I shall revisit this conversation, until such a time, go and crawl back into whatever hole you crawled out of, you condescending prat.

As I said, my heart fucking bleeds, as for dodgy owners look at Hafiz Mammadov for us.... that could have been really eventful. Six seasons of Premier League football, multi million pound signings and a cup final, granted you've had a shocker last term but come off it fella you've had it far better than most in this league or the FL in its entirety.

I'm not being condescending I'm just not falling for the sob story, football can be brutal and unfortunately it's Villa's time for a kick in the bollocks.

Fantastic, as previously stated though, you only really feel the issues of your own club, as can clearly be seen here, you don't give a fuck about the issues we've run into, just as I don't give a fuck about Wednesday's previous issues. I don't fully understand Wednesday's former issues, just as you don't understand ours.

To sum up my main point, you would be whining yourself if our roles were reversed and Villa had spent 16 years languishing outside of the Premier League whilst Wednesday had severely fucked up due to an idiot of an owner.

I've not given a sob story, I wouldn't expect you to give a flying fuck if we went bust, as I honestly wouldn't if Wednesday did, I'd feel sorry for your fans and probably miss the club (until the inevitible rise of a phoenix, but that's a different matter), but in general wouldn't be all that heartbroken. You don't give a crap about our plight, that is perfectly clear, as I didn't give a crap about yours when you nearly got yourselves relegated to L2. Let's leave it at that, eh?

I actually have a lot of time for Villa, always saw them as a decent run club and during our demise it was one of the clubs I felt we needed to emulate and it remains one of my favourite stadiums but you're right I don't care about the issues you face as plenty of us have been through the wringer.

Hopefully Xia won't be a con man and you'll get rid of Lerner.

I don't really get the complaints of Villa fans either. So your owner stopped subsidising what was a very good team that was losing you serious amounts of money. Boo hoo. He still actually kept the club going with new signings, and fine, you've had a terrible year last time out, but you guys really seem to be a bunch of cry babies. If he hadn't given you a couple of great years under O'Neil, everything would be pretty similar to normal.

You aren't struggling with liquidation, you don't have fans shaking buckets desperately trying to raise enough cash to save the club from dropping out of existence. You sold your best players - so what? Happens every transfer window for Brentford. You had some shit managers appointed, so what? Happens to everyone.

Newcastle have had 2 relegations in the last few years, and while they were in the Premier League in between they made the largest profit on transfers of any club by miles, clear evidence of money being taken out of the club, not being reinvested, but being pocketed by the owner. Did Villa have any of that? No. Just because your owner stopped shovelling money into the club doesn't make him a terrible owner, you should be glad for the few very good years he gave you.

I just really really don't get it. You guys really don't understand what it's like to have hard times at your football club...

I'm not going through this argument again, MagpieBee, I've had it with a fair few others. There is plenty of info around as to the problems faced by the club and the absolute clusterfuck that our management has been. If you're that interested in the actual issues around the club, then check out my blogs on the matter as they will be far more informative than I can be by typing it all up here.

What Has Gone Wrong at Aston Villa (Part 1)
What Has Gone Wrong at Aston Villa (Part 2)

If you don't want to read them, then continue to believe we're all pointlessly whining bastards.

Is a 16 point season in the worst PL in history not 'hard times' for Aston Villa?

I appreciate they haven't had extremes such as buckets going round to save the club in the basement leagues, but why does that take away from the fact the last five or six seasons Villa have massively underachieved, then last season they completely faltered, and now their owner has fucked off and left the club with a potentially dodgy Chinese bloke?

You can't compare clubs like Aston Villa to some of the clubs in this league with what they've gone through... I don't think Villa fans are selling a sob story, but I can understand their frustrations given what they've been used to in the past and what is expected of a club of that size.

Since Randy Lerner took over in 2006, Villa’s net spend on player transfers has surpassed £100m. I am not sure what makes him so deplorable that some wish death on him… was there a protest against Lerner during Villa’s FA Cup run last year?

I have as much sympathy for Villa fans as what I do for Charlton's.

Try begging for pennies off other local fans to remain in existence and then come back to me and moan.

Btw this Dr Xia looks as batshit and Tan and even more likes Bond villain (pun intended).

I remember Villa fans enjoying their day out at the DW in 2013. Gave us the classic "we'll never play you again" chant. Oh how wrong they were :D

If the Villa fans find in unwelcoming here, imagine how players like Adama Traore and Jordan Ayew will feel when they have to travel to Oakwell on a freezing November night
