Not much between quite a few teams, understandably as no summer activity has happened yet, but an interesting ranking, and quite surprised we are so high given Warbs has left. Obviously still missing one team from the Prem and League 1 as well.

All odds are to 1

Derby 11
Brentford 12
Burnley 12
Bristol City 16
Ipswich 16
QPR 16
Wolves 16
Forest 18
Wednesday 18
Blackburn 20
Brighton 20
Cardiff 20
Fulham 20
Leeds 20
Huddersfield 25
Reading 25
Birmingham 28
Bolton 28
MK Dons 28
Charlton 50
Rotherham 80

Means nowt for several months. I expect the bookies to eventually extend us to 'top-half' odds as opposed to genuine playoff challengers again come July/August and that will suit us nicely.

I seem to remember last year they had you as one of the 4 or 5 favourites to go down, so it does go to show it means very little at this stage!

Probably in the right position as there's no way will we challenge, unless we have the best transfer window in Championship history. Not sure how we're behind Brighton given that we finished above them though.

My Mystic Meg prediction is that Blackburn, Forest and (sadly) Birmingham will be the front-runners next season. Brentford (equally sadly), Fulham, Cardiff, QPR and Brighton to struggle badly and several of those to go down. I reckon those are very optimistic odds for them and Bristol City.

Meanwhile, we will blame the referee for losing 11 games. Jackett will be managing a Premier League club by January 2016, we will appoint the manager of whoever is lying in 3rd position in League One who will, in four months, will take us from 14th place to 12th place, courtesy of golas by loan players from Bournemouth and a hitherto unknown player from the Senegalese second division.

Rotherham will have a squad that, by the end of the season, will have included the entire male population of four South Yorkshire postcodes and several of the bigger women. They will escape relegation by a 94th minute goal by super-sub Gary Breen, prompting wild celebrations by Steve Evans dressed as the Archbishop of York.

Agree with the majority of what you've put there but can't see Forest anywhere near the top 6. They've been consistently average for several seasons now despite occasional peaks in form. Next season will be no different.

Wont be betting on anybody until July/August when clubs have made signings.Might have a punt on us making the playoffs depending who we bring in and get rid of.Probably being overly optimistic though.

Don't know how they make these odds at this stage, until the morning of the first day of the season I wouldn't like to stick my neck out.

16/1? That's ridiculous. We were longer odds to win L1 last summer (18/1) when I put £50 on us.
We should be much longer odds.

16/1 already?

Money doesn't come into this either - we'll be allocated an average Championship budget, we've learnt from the last balls up.

As Disco said, the presumption must be that we're going to have a season kicking on from last seasons momentum - but it takes more than that to win the Championship.

I'm optimistic about our chances next season but 4th favourites, really?! Equal with QPR, Ipswich and Wolves (fancy them for the title tbh)... not a chance

Think MK are a bit low, can see them doing alright. The way they play will be well suited to the Championship

If Blackburn can keep their squad together I think they'll be a good outside bet for promotion. Unlikely as I think Rhodes and a few others might be off

Bristol City will be strong if the continue to invest, maybe bring Sam Baldock back?

Think Brentford's odds are a bit OTT, don't think they'll be as strong next season, especially with losing Pritchard and potentially Jota

Not sure why Charlton's odds are so bad, there isn't much between them and a play off push, especially if they can get a goalscorer.

Think Wolves will get playoffs, but we need to add a midfielder, striker and a replacement for Sako. If we could get Jed Wallace, JET and a striker along side Benik Afobe I'd be very confident

MK Dons will be ok, can see them getting a lot of loans to keep them above the relegation fight

Don't think Burnley / Hull / QPR will do anything next season.

Think Rotherham, Birmingham, Bolton and Huddersfield will struggle.

We're only so high up because the bookies are aware that we have a winner in charge. He's a man of his word.

I can sort of see why we are fancied, we absolutely steamrollered league 1 and historically we have always done well the season after promotion (with the notable exception of 1998/99, what a disaster that was!). There doesnt look to be any real stand out teams or money bags and I think anybody with the right additions could mount a promotion push.. So why not us?

For me, equally as important if not more important than any new signings are keeping the vultures away. Ive already heard rumours of Flint to Ipswich and Bryan to Bournemouth. This is a special group of players with a real winning mentality... And that midfield of Freeman-Bryan-Smith is the best ive ever seen at ashton gate. We've got to keep hold of them at all costs.

Do you mean Pack, Smith and Freeman?

And I wouldn't worry about outgoings, we're in no position to need to sell, and I'm confident it would take one exceptional offer for any of our key players to go.

A bit controversial but I reckon Packy might struggle up here. With the ball he's decent but I'm concerned he may lack the pace to track players when we haven't got the ball. It happened a couple of times last season IIRC and the standard up here is obviously better.
A decent back up player but I think he may be one of the ones to drop out.

Agree.

A massive fan of Pack, and have been known to stand up for him on numerous occasions, and was glad to gloat about me being correct about him, judging by his performances in the second half of the season.

But, I think we'll need to sign a new midfielder, an experienced, proven quality Championship midfielder to play alongside K Smith, someone like your Lewis McGugan's, your Henri Lansbury's (unrealistic, but just an example.)

I'm not writing him off, he'll have a part to play next season, but possibly as a squad player rather than a first team regular.
