surprised not a match thread for this game already, a fair few posters for each team.

So a pretty big game tomorrow, Mansfield looking to keep going for the top 3 and make it 6 home wins on the bounce, against Coventry who, whereas they've been on poor form of late, have a decent record against sides towards the top.

Mansfield ran out late 1-0 winners at the Ricoh with an alex macdonald screamer into the top right hand corner, and have also a good record against the top sides.

With a sold out away allocation, am hoping for 6,000 tomorrow (might be a little optimistic) and a decent atmosphere.

As for Coventry, given you've not played us at field mill for ages, the Talbot on Nottingham road is alright, the railway heading into town or the green Dragon if you wanna catch some football before the game.

Safe trip! :2thumb:

I am going to this game tomorrow if any Mansfield supporters would like to meet the two time Hall of Fame inductee (that’s twice, not once)

Will be around the ground at 2pm. As for the game, 3-0win.

The police will make it as hard as possible for Cov fans to sample the delights on the Green Dragon. Probably try and get them all in the Midland or whatever name it’s going by this week.

Have we ever played at Field Mill?

We need at least a result here. We need to play like we did in the 2nd half at Brighton. Need to start performing now. No excuses.

Our home form is really good but I’m expecting you lot to turn us over tomorrow for some reason. Hope I’m wrong as it’s a big weekend with everyone around the top 7 playing teams in the bottom half.

Mansfield probably the best team I've seen this season so expecting a very tough game. We desperately need a win or we'll start losing touch with the play offs.

If Robins starts Bayliss in the middle I can see us getting a result, if he goes with Kelly and Doyle spending the whole game without passing the half way line again we'll get turned over.

This is going to be tough game for us, I expect this to be a draw. 2-2.

Though hopefully we'll get a win and a few other results will go our way.

Mansfield fans overestimating us in this thread, we're shite. Comfortable 2-0 for Mansfield and they'll barely have to work for it.

Hugely disappointingt to drop two points today, fair play to Coventry for coming away with something but we can only blame ourselves.

We were just not at the races today, we should be sitting in third now.

Plus side is we are still on top, top form and you can’t win ‘em all. 4 points off Coventry is good this season too.

If they turn the bad form around now after a encouraging point they should get in the play-offs.

Good show Coventry, good show.

The best performance I've saw from an away side at field mill this season - truely excellent. The sending off itself I maintain was questionable (that said I'm not sure I agreed with the penalty either) and when we scored from the deflected shot afterwards many would think it's one of those games.

Not so with Coventry, they built into the game and played well, you couldn't tell which team had 10 men. Coventry had a few chances to score before the penalty and were good fare for their point.

Majorly annoying from our point of view, I think the players just expected to win, Hamilton was awful in the area with his touch despite being alright on the wing and yet again hemmings missed ANOTHER sitter - his inability to actually score (the job of a forward) despite his leading of the line - is starting to take its toll unfortunately.

Overall, results were moderate and were another point away from 8th

Just saw the Evans interview...

What a complete bitter twat. I hope the FA throw the book at him. It was a red card and the penalty looked soft from where I was. Never heard a shout for handball nor a blatant penalty as he claims.

As for the result, a point is okay considering we had ten men for 75 mins.

The FA never do anything about Evans. The only manager who can spend 90 minutes barking at the 4th official and nothing happens. Probably feeling the pressure as not going up automatically would be abject and probably the sack. A shame as otherwise Mansfield are a decent club.

He's been like for at least 20 years and the fa and the courts have had chances to stop his antics way back but didn't, sure our management coaching staff etc will get plenty yet again next week. IMHO his sidekick Raynor is even worse, a real nasty piece of work. Our goalkeeping coach has twice gone to shake at the end of both games and twice been told to fuck off by Raynor, what a charmer!

He does have a point, he never abuses the opposition players, only the officials and opposite manager

I’m not going to defend his childish actions, but I don’t think he gets special treatment.

Well that's all we get when yet another team comes away from field mill having not won - still the 1 loss this season - though coventrys point was fair.

We knew what evans was like, you know what he's like, he knows what he's like, it's how it is and he gets away with it as he's successful.

That said mark robins did himself little good when he said danny Rose goes down too easily (not an unfair accusation) but maybe he should look at some of his own players (esp for the penalty - which never was).

In short the ref officiated poorly and allowed it to spiral. Decent game ruined by the red, dare say Coventry would have won with a full compliment of players throughout the game
