A blow ahead of our game against Bromley on BT on Monday. Derby have picked up injuries to strikers and Jack Stretton who’s scored 3 in 5 games (only 2 of those were starts) will be going back.

Monday

Boreham Wood v Hartlepool United 3pm
Dagenham & Redbridge v Aldershot Town 3pm
FC Halifax Town v Weymouth 3pm
King’s Lynn Town v Altrincham 3pm
Maidenhead United v Eastleigh 3pm
Solihull Moors v Sutton United 3pm
Stockport County v Bromley 5:30pm
Wealdstone v Barnet 3pm
Woking v Notts County 3pm
Wrexham v Torquay United 3pm

Time to turn thoughts to tomorrow... we have very little chance of catching Sutton, so have to be aiming for 2nd/3rd, or at the very minimum 4th/5th - can’t see us winning 2 away play offs games and at Wembley.

Therefore we have to be looking to get all 3 points at a Woking side with little to play for. Did they actually carry out their threat to furlong half the squad if they got knocked out the trophy?

For us, Kyle Wootton will be serving a one match ban, but it couldn’t have come at a much better time - he badly needed a rest anyway, and will come back fresher for Pools next Saturday. Be interesting to see who replaces him, as we don’t really have any other targetmen. Roberts will start on the bench again too I’d expect, with another 20 or 30 mins readying him for a start at Pools too.

I’ll go for a tight 1-0 to Notts.

Interesting game for us. We play Weymouth at home after having Friday off due to Dover. Weymouth scored 2 late goals the other day against Maidenhead so obviously still got some fight about them despite nothing to play for. These are the sort of games we need to win though if we want to sneak in the playoffs. I can see us making hard work of it but just about winning 2-1.

Be a battle against Brexit Wood, as per. Not an easy one for Sutton at Solihull either but not sure the rugby club are in the best form?

We could have defender Ryan Johnson out for a while which could be a blow, he is an established part of the back 3 and the fact he's left footed helps the balance.

The equation is simple. Hope Sutton drop points and we don't. Want to win the league I'd say we probably need to win at least 7 of the 9 matches we have left to have any chance at all. More about consolidating a top 3 spot really, I'd say there's a decent shout of that at least.

You just know Gus is gonna have another worldie performance, they've been Chorleying their way through the season recently so it's gonna be another tough game, we just need to keep a healthy gap between us and the teams below with games in hand, they're invariably gonna start winning these games and the table could look very different

Armstrong aside, Ryan Johnson has been the signing of the season for me, I don't think any of us expected the impact he's made so he's gonna be a massive loss if he's out for the remainder, I like Odusina but I feel like he's got a rickett in him at least once a match.

Interesting to see who starts for us up front with Wootton out and us having sent Effiong back. Eli Sam would be the obvious, but wonder if we might try something different and bring Knight in for a first start to go with two small, quick forwards.

He's not great on the left side of the three and has been in and out the side through suspensions and Johnson's form, none of that's helped. He's still an important player mind and will be a fixture next season when Cass inevitably gets a loan deal higher up.

That lad from Rotherham (Cooper?) suspect he'll be getting more game time if Johnson is out a while.

A big test of character for us tomorrow. Fridays result at Boreham Wood was disappointing (albeit a fair result), and Solihull will be no less resolute. We are on probably our worst run of results all season (3 draws and a win in our last 4), which means getting the win would be a massive boost. However Solihull are Solihull and although they were confidently and comfortably dispatched at GGL they are always a difficult opponent.

Fortunately we have a break coming up (we were scheduled to play Dover next weekend), but a win tomorrow will make that a far less stressful break.

I would like to see this and, for probably the first this season, look to see us getting someone (Griffiths/RR/JoB/Roberts when he comes on) in the gap between their midfield and defence looking to slide the ball in behind their back line, especially as one of their CBs will be the giant Diarra, who I’m guessing may have the turning circle of the Ever Given. Let’s get a man playing on the shoulders of their defence.

The only issue is the above mentioned Diarra and the other threats from set pieces mean we may plump for Sam simply because of his height, not that he is particularly great in the air.

Sam is a mercurial winger trapped in a target man’s body, not sure I’ve ever seen him head the ball.

A much needed rest for us tomorrow as we were supposed to be playing Dover. Gives us chance to get at least one of our centre halves back fit for next week against Kings Lynn.

Some tough games for the play off hopefuls tomorrow so will be interesting to see how it plays out

The curious thing about Ardley was that we never seemed to pick up confidence from a result. So we’d score 2 in injury time at Chesterfield to win or beat Daggers with 10 men but it never seemed to translate into the next few games.

Interesting to see whether the slightly flukey win against Wrexham spurs us on to win a game we really should win at Woking, despite the loss of Wootton. I’m quite hopeful, which is always a bad sign.

Aldershot (and Boreham Wood, apparently )
Don’t know much about D&R this season, but if they press and play direct, we are f****d. Our ”strikers “have been useless recently; we are playing with Harry Pan. centre forward, which says it all really. Have pretty much lost interest, but always hope for a win, but fear it will be 2-0 loss.

We are starting to get players back fit that will hopefully help us.

Hyde is fit again now
Summerfield might be too soon for him but he may well be back at Alty..

Hoping we can stop getting an injury every second week between now and the end of the season.

Tomorrow won't be easy but its must win for us to stay in touch.

We play with some donkey called McCallum upfront, we thought Joe Quigley was bad until this guy showed up! Seriously we do not score much, 30 goals all season long so a 0-0 it is then.

Stones rag tag army of loanees, freebies and leftovers take on the cuckoos from up the road today in what would have been a ding dong battle at a raucous Vale. 3 points please and send them back to their white elephant with their tails between their legs. UTS.

Don’t care. Why should we when our chairman clearly doesn’t?

No game for us today although that was always the plan rather than what happened with Friday's match. It will be interesting to see what effect 2 weeks off, couple with everything else that's happened, has on us when we play on Saturday. We had played more games than a lot of teams so it levels things up.

Our star man Cap Roberts has lasted about ten minutes of his latest comeback before being crocked again, mate's just seen him at the local Co-op, he's not even made it up the steps onto the bus.
