This game was always going to mean more to Stones fans than Barnet, but how fitting to give them a 5-1 spanking in front of stands literally built by our fans. Just a shame we couldn't be there to fill them.

It's days like today you remember how a member of Harrow Council laughed in the face of one of our officials when they decided to back the duplicitous narcissist TK instead of their own local club, and were told that one day soon the two clubs might be 1 level apart. And here we are, peers, and walloping them with a rag tag bunch of loanees, freebies and kids. Up the fucking Stones!
I couldn’t believe how woeful they were. At 2-1 , our debutant 18 yo goalkeeper pulled off a crucial save and after that, Barnet just gave up.

We even brought on a 16 yo for his debut.

I'd like to take this opportunity to point out that we lost against Barnet 2 months ago.

I thought their midfielder Vasillou was quality, the only bright spark amongst a miserable bunch who looked like they wanted to be anywhere else other than in an amber shirt. Their demise has been astonishing, and the only consistent influence is TK. You reap what you sow.

You really have to wonder how TK thinks this season is just one he can throw in the bin and expect to pick up the pieces from afterwards.

Whilst I think this just hastens our journey to going defunct, others (less informed/more optimistic) will atleast think the ripple effect from this will last for years.

Vasillou is from our acadamy and it shows. He is the only one showing any passion and commitment amongst all the other journeymen ex League players who couldn't give a toss. Wealdstone deserve the bragging rights in this totally meaningless season. If only the vote was different and there was something to play for, you might have seen a bit more effort. As for TK, well everything has been said that can be said.

Great 3 points for us at the death. one or two of our rivals have had some late winners . Not much in the game we again had Jake Andrews on the bench. our only attacking left sided player and we have our main pllaymaker Little on the left. Another hour for Danny Wright We and we need him now as our Sunderland loanee went off with a hamstring. Our set piecy yes were poor again and Little missed target yet again. Their guy hit the post with one . Both defences were generaly on top and wrexham hiit it long far too much.

Being the only NL Chairman in the FT rich list, if TK next season suddenly decides enough is enough and ploughs 2 million into a budget, then not many teams in the NL could compete with that. Remember, the Hive is being set up for the future, and with most complete, everything would be ready for e EFL return and as TK said, forward to League 1.

No appetite for AFC Barnet? From outside looking in it seems the only way to break the dependency on TK.

It's paper wealth, not actual wealth though right? Tied up in the valuation of PEPF, which seems vastly overstated given the revenues from his businesses are actually quite small.

Stockport are very similar to us. All possession and nice patterns of play, very little turning it into clear chances. More worrying when you’ve got Rooney and Madden out there, mind.

Somebody set up an AFC Barnet website and Twitter account just over a year ago. Both seem to have disappeared.

Don't worry about Rooney, if he didn't have his brother's name nobody would think he was anything other than what he is- a bog standard non league footballer. :ds:

He won’t do that though and to be honest that would just be papering over the cracks anyway. Our attendances have been dwindling for 10+ years whilst I would bet anything on our fans average age increasing. When have you ever seen young fans at the Hive like there would be at Underhill? There’s just no appetite for NL football in the local area - which would be OK if we had a footballing identity in this neck of the woods, but we don’t, and have long missed out on the window of opportunity to make one.

If TK were to stay, the reputation of both the club and him are down at depths that they’ve never been before - and you ask the number of players, agents and club officials who have reason to be pissed off with him. Regrowth is hard enough but even more so when you buy yourself at a disadvantage when dealing with so many other individuals.

No bidder will come in to buy TK out of the Hive at his price point - he knows he sits on very decent land there. And then who would buy the club on its own, with no significant revenue streams when separated from the Hive? Where would we go?

There’s more to it beyond that which I can’t divulge unfortunately, but ultimately - we’re finished.

We don’t have enough of a passionate fanbase left to give it any traction.

Even if successful it would languish in the depths of regional football. You wouldn’t see a rise like Hereford, Wimbledon etc (all of which were larger clubs than us at the end of their time).

Just too nice from us, not got that dynamism. Say the same every time I watch us.

I repeat myself everytime I discuss the actual football on here but it'll just be a case of who can turn up for a few games in the play-offs. We need to make sure we actually get in there.

At no point has it ever felt like a promotion season. We've stuttered, struggled to create chances, have glaring weaknesses in the squad and until today not been free scoring.
I'd be amazed if we went up as champions and very surprised to go up via the playoffs.
I fancied Hartlepool before a ball was kicked and still do, or Stockport.
Pools won’t win the league.
We create a bag full of chance’s every game, but just don‘t convert enough to turn draws into wins.
Today was point in case & several other away games.

I have watched 4 National League games over this holiday weekend and have seen one goal. Do I need to reassess my life choices?

I thought when you signed Madden & won,I think it was three in a row, you’d be a big threat to us finishing second or third.
But to be honest, you didn’t look that special against us or today.

Yeah no chance, we've played as many as five games more than some teams in the playoffs, granted they still have to pick up the points but you'd imagine they're gonna gain on us.

We just need to aim for 2nd or 3rd, forget about top, we'd beat anyone at our place in a one off game.

We're no better or worse than all the teams in the mix. The only team we've played this season who I've been impressed with were Sutton. No suprise to see where they are for me.

We've got a pretty kind run in, I'm confident we'll be somewhere in the play-off shake up and then it is anybody's game because there is no outstanding team.

This is an actual post-match interview given by our longest serving player.

Harry Taylor has played at the Vale before just on the pitches outside. One summer we played a Chelsea Academy team , mainly U10 players, in a tournament at Wealdstone for an U11 tournament. Harry, Chelsea U11, and his brother Jack, who was a Chelsea U10, played in a side that my son had previously played for. The Taylor boys dad gave the ref so much grief that the ref was about to abandon the game. He relented after lots of persuasion.

I found that interview extraordinary in that he said he and some of the players would be giving their all for the rest of the season. The others, by deduction, wouldn’t.

The bloke you got from Gloucester spent most of the game telling his team mates they were shit. He may have a point, but not what you’d expect from a senior player.

Rooney is crap as a 10 and Madden is constantly coming too deep. Our top goal scorer in Reid can’t fit in the same team as Madden and now our really good Derby loanee has been recalled that means we’re short of pace in attacking areas.

The plus side is we don’t concede many goals and we’re a threat from corners but playing land of the giants Bromley we didn’t show that today.

D&R were poor today, seemed uninterested and unmotivated. Shots were o.k., looking more like a team but no real threat .Be interesting to win a few games in a row, but unlikely. Yawn..

The Taylors are both gifted footballers, although Jack much more so, and I expect him to push onto the Championship and possibly the Premier League over the next few years, and he should break through into the Ireland national team too.

Liam Daly seems to be one of those who cares, but probably too old to be an effective player for us going forward.

Harry has been a useful player for us for several years, but he has not come across well there.

The Taylor’s are both great professionals and I agree - Jack should be seeing the Championship + the PL soon. I’d also expect a ROI cap soon. He’s seriously talented.

Harry is usually a solid player and would be for any other team at this level. I disagree that he comes across badly - whilst as a fan I would always appreciate that level of honesty at a time like this but really it just highlights what was already known.

Do you know how frustrating it must be to actually give a shit and play in that mess of a team? I understand it from Daly too. Players surrounded by others who are only here because otherwise they would’ve gone through covid without a paycheck and have no pride for their own professional reputation. Why do you think so many are suspended or ‘injured’? They want the furlough paycheck and nothing more to do with the team. Harry is a player who should be on the up and has spent over a decade at this club - I would be fuming if I were him.

Jack, in his time at Chelsea was the better player than Harry, though H did have a bad injury which meant he missed nearly two seasons. He was released at the end of his recovery and his parents threw their toys out of their pram and took Jack out as well.

i think the parents had a bad rep which meant they ended up at Barnet. I thought they would do better. Jack is now obviously showing his potential.
