Eastleigh have today announced that Chris Todd has been given the managers job on a permanent basis.
His first appointment was to recruit Shaun North (ex Cheltenham, Bristol Rovers & Torquay) as his assistant.

Don't know about that, they looked pretty good against us. Todd has got them playing some nice stuff, be interesting to see if he can keep it going.

"We now look forward to Chris’s first game in charge as our official manager at Cheltenham on Saturday. I am sure he will get a great reception from both of the fans who are making the trip to the game and then subsequently when the team play their next home game against Halifax".

Corrected for them.

Usually hate when a team gets a new manager right before playing us. Worked out alright with Halifax a couple of weeks ago though so here's hoping for a repeat :D

So with 80 applications, do you really think we would go ask for the Chester manager...
He applied for the job, end of.

No, instead of the manager with experience and success in this division, out of 80 applications, you go for the one with zero experience.

Heh, ok.

He'd have to relocate and his missus has a stable job in Staffordshire, so forgive me for not believing some random suggesting he'd be interested in an obscure airport runway masquerading as a football club.

Whatever makes the #Vision look good though.

I don't believe it either. When he was with us FGR came calling and he rejected them. I also think Grimsby and Macclesfield did but not 100% sure on them. So I find it hard to believe him wanting to leave and relocate across the country.

I don't think we went quite as far as approaching him. The chairman and chief exec both wanted him to take over when we came down, but the owner decided to, not just think outside the box, but think like there wasn't even a box, and went for The King. Good choice

We did more than approach him, he came up and had a meeting with owner/chairman/vice-chairman at the time, with the latter two thinking it was a done deal.

He put in for the job at The Shay, but chairman didn't think he could make the step up. Get in. :woo:

Quite a few murmurings on Deva Chat that Burr is not the Messiah, but unfortunately he's contracted til the end of next season, so we're stuck with him unless someone comes in for him. Couldn't even fill the bench today

The murmurings are from the same people every time though and they only post after we lose. It's worth remembering we were about to make the bizarre and potentially horrendous decision to employ Gavin McCann until Burr changed his mind at the last minute.

Who would you (realistically) want instead of Burr?

Get him out, what's the worst that could happen, I mean, look how it worked out for us: Conference North Champions 2017. :ds:

If Burr was to go, he'd be guaranteed to be the next Barrow manager.

We went with the best man for the job, who has proved himself by only losing 1 game and has us playing great football.
League 2 here we come.
Burr will be mid table with Chester at this level for the next 5 years....it's a no brainer as to why he applied.

A lot of the people who I have a great deal of respect for on Deva Chat were unanimous that Saturday's defeat at Altrincham was very poor, with lack of passion being the one that worries me most.
