They dont even get close to filling the current stadium, so lets go and build a new one nearly double the size :ffs:

Suppose old Stewart can just keep giving away more & more free tickets to get people to believe they actually have some fans

Only £10mil? Small change next to our new £100m complex....

#lackofambition

In all seriousness, it looks pretty impressive. Good that the club can stay on the same site as well.

Build & they will come. It's the new way of positive thinking.
As a league 2 club, our avg gate will be above 5k, so we need 10k for the big games innit.
Let him crack on and do what he's doing, we are going the right way.
Most of you haters, are going the wrong way. I wonder why?

It's always nice to get an away attendence of 4800

The current site is everything that's wrong with Eastleigh's ground, going last year on the train I had to take the most obscure route through a country park along mud paths and then up a hill with no paths at all or lighting.

The whole place was just a ramshackle mess.

It's quite a decent looking stadium, though I'd be sceptical even in L2 that attendances will more than quadrupled.

Btw where are AFC Stoneham being re-housed?

The clue is those white fluffy things dotted around the exterior. They're clouds. It all pie in the fucking sky. They'll be back in Dog & Duck in 3 years where they belong. Maidstone, Grays, Rushden, Histon, Weymouth, Dartford, Salisbury where are they now. :£

On the way back up & actually living within our means now.....renting the 3G pitch out pretty much every day of the week helps a lot

Also with our ground smack bang in the middle of town, i think we should continue to get good crowds

Unless our owners suddenly go full retard, sell the ground without a replacement & move the team 20+ miles away i think we should be ok

Twenty five years though? "They had spent vast amounts getting into the Football League and the spending continued now they were there. Running costs were huge and gates dwindled meaning the club's finances spiralled out of control" All for 3 years in the League? :dk:

Maidstone were consistently getting 2,000 in the Ryman South the other year, while in our first season at that level we were pulling 1,100 and wearing blue badgeless binbags with no plan to draw fans in from the board then or since. Full credit to them, they are setting themselves up for a Conference or even football league return the right way.

As for the Vision and the drawing they nicked off some eastern Europeans and are planning to plant on top of a preexisting club's base, it looks complete artifice so far, like when that cold-calling wideboy from the local rugby tried taking over the Shay for redevelopment a couple of years ago. Good luck in your 2022/23 League Two relegation battle with AFC Flyde.

I'd be very surprised if you lot were able to average 5,000 even at the top of Lge1,never mind Lge2.
All the 'new' clubs to join the FL over the last 25 years or so have struggled at the turnstiles with the majority 'drawing' very dismal attendances.
Look at Crawley,Daggers,Burton,Fleetwood,etc...why would Eastleigh be any different, especially with Saints on your doorstep?

No denying that

Even when the club was reborn it was run like a right shambles!! We had a owner who never had the money to bring us home & he refused to sell the club.....

Also no one wanted to invest any money in the club cos said person had already gone bankrupt 2-3 times before. Heck he only sold up in the end cos the club was about to go under again with debts of 300-500k

He sells & boom people actually wanted to invest in the club. People who had refused to work with us in the past then suddenly wanted to be involved

I will be forever thankful for said person who kept the club running, but his stubbornness nearly killed us again!! Our new owners have been a god send and the whole setup is run completely different unlike in the past

This certainly isnt a shit or bust situation like Eastleigh and co

This is very true only Wycombe, Doncaster, Yeovil and ourselves have attracted anywhere near the sort of crowds to prosper in the league and none of us ever managed 5000 in league two from what I can recall.

We never averaged over 5,000 in our time in the Football League, even in League One. We had a few attendances over 6,000, and I think only ever one or two over 7,000 in a regular League game.

But then I recall attending league games at Whaddon Road with attendances around 6-800.

Wyc and Donny did.
But Donny are a traditional League club so don't count.

It's a bit light on what extra facilities this will provide for the local community.
If this ever comes off there will have to be really big investment in the local transport infrastructure.
Why don't they just buy Torquay's new stand off them, assuming Torquay are going to have this new ground built?

You may be able to build that for £10M but I seriously doubt it. Possibly if it was at a new location and someone donated the land. You definitely can't build that for £10M on your existing site as you would have demolition to do (okay demoing your existing stadium would probably eat up £50) add in the cost of a large amount of engineering work etc. and also your construction cost would be high as it would take twice as long to demo/build as opposed to building on a new site.
Surely a more reasonable solution would be to build the two sides out and install terracing on both ends until L1 is accomplished..

Gonna look ridiculous with only 400-500 people in a 6000 capacity stadium

The whole Flyde setup is even more tinpot than Eastleigh

Been keeping my eye on the Fylde progress after seeing how their fans were boasting last season only to blow the league. Pretty sure they were expecting to have the stadium ready about now, but it doesn't look even half finished.
It's a lot like the North Korea analogy and yes, they've got a "vision" on their site. Fails to mention that it's all a retaliation to the chairman not being allowed to buy Blackpool.

They're trying to sign people up to something called the 2022 Club (when they will be in the League...) at £470 a season ticket.
Here's a recent post on their forum, entitled "changes for the worse":

"Is it me or is this season a step too far?
Team chopping and changing, but no better than last year.
Volunteer staff and paid staff axed while off sick, replacements come in on big money but no improvement.
Attendances down on last season.
Membership alienating casual fans.
How will the new ground work on attendances so low?
Messrs Chell, Middleton and Agnew are puppets for the chairman.
Word is spreading that all is not well at AFC on and off the field ....
More to follow ... Watch this space! "

Would be no loss to football whatsoever.

Not really taken much notice of them to be honest but these ambitions seem wildly unrealistic.
Again, they have no population to draw from. This is the starting point for assessing a clubs potential.
Look at Rushden.

I think the idea is to nick all the disillusioned Blackpool fans, but Fleetwood already grabbed the fickle ones. The ones that are staying away from Bloomfield Road will return there as soon as the club is sold (or starts again). There aren't really any other big towns in the vicinity, and how many people are actually gonna be won over just because there's an Aldi on site?

Yeh,the area already has a long established club with good potential in Blackpool.
Fleetwood and Fylde are treading water and will ultimately find their true levels.
