Absolutely buzzing for this one, reckon Mourinho will panic and play a strong side or at least stronger than they would have. Obviously we've got barely any chance of winning which goes down the stronger side is put out, but you never know whether this will be just another unbelievable moment in this mental last year. Doubt they'll play Ibra and Pogba but it's conceivable they'll play all the other first team regulars, which will be nice to see at Sixfields.

Hope we at least try and get at them, get it wide and get it in the box for Revell to attack. Think we'll lose about 3-0 but let's hope we put up a fight and with the run they're on an early goal could put the shits up them.

3-0 United.

Robert Page was watching yesterday (naturally - and handy being a Watford legend too)

Good luck!

People said we had no chance when De Gea, Kagawa, Andersom, Hernandez and Welbeck were starting and we still smacked them 4-0.

You always have a chance, be good to see you win it, even if it is you lot. Good luck, enjoy it, don't get these days often.

John Joe to score 2 and get a red card. Hope we dont just sit back and get picked off, want to see us have a go at least.

Would like to see Zak and O'Toole back in for this. Hope we smash them, and all the plastic utd fans from Northampton that will no doubt be in the home end.

When we played them there was an old fella trying to get in the home end wearing a man Utd hat, scarf, shirt and trousers  I'm sure you'll have the same.

I hope your got a united fan near you and you take the lead, just to see the fume on their face. It's brilliant.

Best of luck.

Does Maureen put out a B team because it's "just the League Cup" or does he put out the big guns to stop his/their losing run?
I believe that we would do better against the latter...

Apparently Pogba, De Gea and Zlatan are to be rested.

Rooney up top?

Well that confirms our clean sheet then.

To be fair to him he did tend to put out strong teams in the League Cup.
As for Northampton, just don't set yourself up in the same way Shrewsbury did before their FA Cup tie against Man Utd last season.

Annoying goal for Northampton to concede but great finish from Carrick, United have started well and look comfortable.

The way Rooney fired that free kick straight into the wall to set Carrick up with the ricochet was majestic.

Is the atmosphere always as bad as this at Sixfields?

Well we had a bloody good go but ah well. They weren't bad, but to panic them enough they had to lob Ibra and Rashford on I'm happy. Feel sorry for Smith, one of our best players and he's had a stinker on the box.

Perfect. All those scouts can see just how rubbish Smith is! I don't know why anyone would want to buy him. He might as well sign a new contract now.

Really enjoyed it last night. Shame for us and Smith to concede in the manner we did, as mentioned above hopefully it puts off a few of those clubs that were looking for him.

Thought the club deserve a lot of credit with how they have dealt with the whole build up of the game etc.

Some of the UTD fans were hilarious. Pretty quite most of the game, a few of them were pointing and me and outside after we scored. I can only assume they were asking me for directions back to Surrey after the game.

On to Southend now on saturday.

Quick joke about how our best player isn't that good so I hope the football men reading this don't sign him! Ha ha!
