Poor second half but decent effort and some positives from some of the fringe lads.

Lad who got a hatrick spat at one of our players at half time which isn't good... Mad Gav gave him some retribution late on.

Lost 2-1 vs Bolton. Thought we were the better side though. Two mistakes cost us. Porter was brilliant yet again, leads the line really well, little Lowery was brilliant also, very tidy player.

First time I've seen us this season, quite happy with the the performance despite result. Should have put the game to bed and i do worry about that defence, Ng looked well out of his depth. But we looked decent for most the match and Porter could be our best signing in a while.

With or without Raynes?

Managed to get a stream on the TV in time for the second half, wish I hadn't gone to all the effort!

Can see why Mad Gav Gunning gets his nickname...

I'm a bit curious how they will do the League Cup draw tonight as I understand that the 2nd round is still seeded. If Derby had won then no doubt they would be seeded but if we'd won we wouldn't, so will Derby or Grimsby be in the seeded or unseeded pot tonight.

Now, I'm not sure if I'm imagining this or not but I think there was a similar situation a couple of years back and they actually did 2 draws as to who plays who depending on who wins the tie.

Anyone else remember something like that or have I just made that up?

Same here, pissed around all first half looking and got one at half time, annoying as first half was more competitive! Might have been different if we hadn't air kicked the cut back from Pyke a minute or two before their second when we should of scored.

I knew as soon as their lad started trying to take the piss that Mad Gav was going to absolutely nail him! Despite being a head case isn't that only his third ever red though?

As well as Gunning has done at left back at least now Denton will start Saturday so we have a proper left back in place.

Rings a bell with me that so will be dependant on who wins.

Sorry, but that is embarrassing from Brown. 'Please take our word for it and sub your player.'

Is Brown living in some sort of fantasy land? Why on earth, if the ref missed it and so did the cameras, would Leeds agree to this? Maybe Vales opponents on Saturday should claim the same about Pope or Smith and get outraged when the Vale don't sub them. Horribly niave comments.

Don't agree with that part of it however if he did spit at Davis and there's no reason for us to fabricate it then he is right to be furious, the whole thing has gone a bit petty with Leeds moaning about the rough treatment they got (yes the same Leeds that made a reputation for it!). Brown should of reported it as he has, sent to footage as he as and left it to the FA to sort out.

It is the lowest of the low to spit and if the FA can prove it then he deserves a severe ban for it but Brown has shown his inexperience there by not keeping his anger over it in check.

If there is a match involving Leeds, then there will be some controversy in their somewhere, it's been the case since the 1960's, every match I have seen the Alex play against Leeds has seen something go off on the pitch, it could be a series of fouls by Leeds, Leeds's trying top intimidate the ref, players falling over, Leeds players/manager trying to wind our fans up, it always happens. Wonder who Evans has modeled Mansfield on? :conf:

Newport in the North ???

Neither they nor West Ham can play at home so Newport have been lumped in the Northern section so they are unable to draw each other. It's stupid.

Sunderland at home, happy with that. Should be a good crowd and possibly on tv, and based on their performance tonight, a chance to progress.

So Barnsley away for us if we can get past Derby, and we should really seeing as we were absolutely battering them 0-1 until the rain kicked in...... :shifty:

Sunderland at home is about as good as it gets for us financially. There are lots of local-based fans of the two big north-east clubs so there should be a massive away following, not to mention Carlisle-based Newcastle fans with two reasons to support the home team. also a pretty good home following for a local-ish derby even though it is a weeknight. I doubt we'll sell out just because it's a midweek game, but I reckon we'll get somewhere in the 10-12,000 area, and as cufc17 says, the state they're in at the moment, it's winnable.

The police are likely to insist on separate away fans' pubs for the Sunderland game.

I would laugh for days on end if they stick the Sunderland fans in the Magpie.
