Cheltenham away next Tuesday, question is will we take more than 10 fans?

Is is the quarter final? I read earlier the draw is on Thursday
Cheltenham played Leicester kids last night in the second round, whilst all the other games were third round and we had to wait as we were drawn against Cheltenham or Leicester.

Leicester couldn't honour the fixture when everyone else played their second round games because of Champions League commitments (!) so another way the PL clubs can manipulate the competition to suit themselves.

Agreed.

As an aside, apparently Luton carried on fielding the same sort of team as previously winning 4-0 but will receive a £5k fine as a result again no doubt. So the FL can take it off the £40k for winning. It would be funny if Luton won the competition getting fined £5k every round including the final.

Still about 1,000 too many.
.Pathetic effort.

So you'll not go to all the other games in the competition but would go to Wembley? Have a word with yourself if that is the case.

I definitely wouldn't go to Wembley for this competition if we got there but went to the JPT final last year.

I'm not going to pretend I wouldn't go to Wembley...

To be fair people have done a good job at boycotting this competition so far but that will all be pointless if the Wembley final is played out in front of a 'normal' crowd for the final of this competition as this is when more eyes will be on the competition. Since th

What if two development teams make the final?

Genuine question, how will that be viewed by the EFL? Surely the crowd would be low as would TV ratings but would they care as long as its two PL development teams in the final?

Won't happen as there is only Swansea B left.

I've always been disappointed with pretty much everything we have done in this- the team, the inability to get knocked out the fucking thing, the attendances and everything else.

I will stay away from Wembley if we get there, which seems to be an inevitability at this point. Would be well up for joining the other boycotters in a London pub somewhere, as is being suggested. Kiss goodbye to the ticket money from the five others that attended the 2016 final with me as well.

The whole point of a boycott is to make people take notice and actually enforce action/change. Since the first round of fixtures in this competition there hasn't been that much publicity regarding it so if you ask me the FA, PL and EFL have got off lightly - if anything it has cost clubs more in losses no doubt encountered from opening and operating empty stadiums on matchday (and not to forget those ludicrous fines for putting out winning teams).

The only way to actually win this is to embarrass these organisations into submission by having the 'showpiece' final (bearing in mind this is the only round shown live on TV) of the competition played in an empty Wembley stadium. The sub 1000 crowds in the group stages will be soon forgotten if the biggest match of the competition is played out in front of thousands of cheering fans

Maybe they won't vote for it next time then.

You don't vote for things unless amendments are made to what was voted in previously. I fear that this could be here to stay now the governing bodies got enough votes first time around

The EFL itself reported the change as a 'pilot'. I would be staggered if 48 chairman continue to allow their teams to play in a loss making and unpopular competition without any sort of input into its continuation. Frankly, I cannot believe that they cannot vote or act to cease the contest. The 'amendment' will be to remove b teams or scrap the competition, the driving force would be those that foot the bill, and my previous post will still apply.

Yes I have been having a word with myself.

I think the point has been made. The club still stand to earn a lot of money from the competition and the confidence gained from a trip to Wembley contributed to our promotion push and inflated sales of Kemar and Callum.

My main reason for a change in stance is entirely a personal one though.
We have been spoilt in the past few years for trips to Wembley, but, I have one son who has been to Wembley and another who has not. Trips to Wembley don't come around very often so I would love to take both sons there again and this would be an opportunity to do that. Maybe they will grow up calling me a scab but I'll risk that!

I will start attending games in this competition providing they do not clash with work and of course will not attend a game with an U23 side in it even if that is at Wembley.

I think the point has been made.

Robie, I hear what you're saying and in any case I don't think I have any business telling people what they can and can't do to support their team, I can only hope they hear the points being made on the other side.

I can't really see that any point has been made, or listened to, until a change is agreed to and announced.

As of yet, I don't think we have achieved anything save for a vague statement that there might be 'changes'. This could mean anything, including more exposure for B teams.

With all due respect, most football fans have uttered something about being taken for granted by the game in the last few years. To me this is an entirely valid point. The problem is, we never give our clubs or our FA the slightest reason to value our opinions if we continually give in to their complete disregard of us.

You're going to go if you want to, and I'm not interested in faulting any reasons you have, but I can't agree our point has been made. Yet.

If coventry play Luton or Oxford in the final Wembley might actually be full that would be very depressing for the boycott.

Well somehow we've got to the semi, done our bit by beating four U23 teams on the way.
I will say with confidence that if and it's a massive if, we get there that we would take 45-50 000, we are so success starved and done nothing for thirty years that going on the reaction on our board that everyone will boycott the boycott that most Cov fans are doing, and go to the final.
Our success stats are appalling, so every Tom Dick and Barbara will go just to enjoy one happy day supporting the club. I don't do boycotts, I want to support the team, so I will definately be going with all my old mates who stopped going a couple of years back.
Win or lose it will be a great day, and if we get Bradford or Luton it will sell out

Bradford won't take many they've played there twice pretty recently. Luton might just cos it's about 30 mins away.

We wouldn't take that many this year along with the boycott it would be our third visit to Wembley in 7 years and I can't imagine us getting near to 15000 let alone the 33000 we took for the play off finals.

Well in the knockout rounds we've gone all the way to Cheltenham, then to Oxford (twice), then potentially down to Luton or Yeovil if we get through that. I'm not sure Yeovil away is worth the £50k.

You can fuck the fuck right off.

'One happy day supporting the club,' yeah, one happy day where you're also handing SISU your hard earned cash.

And no, it won't sell out (unlike you).

If we got to the final I reckon we'd take about 15,000, if that - compared to our last two visits, 33,500 and 26,500 respectively.

No ones interested, and rightly so.

Woh tiger, a little bit of anger there.
I support the lads on the pitch and on the pitch only. Others have deserted and its there decision which I respect. we are down to the last 6000 , those youngsters need our help as its not there fault we have shit owners. so what you are saying is desert my club in its greatest hour of need, not many fans of other clubs would do the same, ask them.
Ive been going for nearly fifty years and I don't need or ask for advice from fans of other clubs on what I should be doing.
If we go down to the conference North I will still be there supporting the lads who wear our shirt, give up on the club like you say,not a chance in hell chap.
SISU will be off one day and ill help pick the club back and support it like I have always done

But what is the point in all of these protests (both about the trophy and SISU) if you are just going to travel in numbers just for a day out at Wembley in a shit competition?

As I have said before, anything but a sparse crowd at Wembley will render all of the low attendances in this competition pointless as this is the game that gets in front of the cameras and is shown to a massive audience. If there are few empty seats on show then people will wonder what all the fuss has been about as the competition will seem to matter and those decision makers in the FA, EFL and PL will be rubbing their hands together
