The timings in the Torquay v Crawley game were due to our keeper being knocked unconscious and having to be stretchered of.

Thankfully he has been released from hospital with no serious injury other than concussion.

We’ve played Bolton 3 times this season and every time the goal keeper has been diabolical. Why have Bolton stuck with him, or is he just useless when he comes up against us.

I wonder why Magnus Norman isn't in the squad. Is he properly out of favour?

Similarly I'd have expected Devine to at least be on the bench as he's another who on paper is a senior squad member and could do with some game-time.

Beech confirmed after the game that McDonald has symptoms (sore throat) so is isolating and Devine is also isolating because he drives to training with him.

My point about the timings was less the insane amount of injury time (albeit that looks remarkable, too!) but more that Crawley equalise deep into injury time, Torquay think they've won it deep into injury time, Crawley equalise again deep into injury time. Torquay are two ahead again with just twelve minutes of extra time left to play and yet Crawley manage to find three goals in ten minutes to win it at the death again. Crazy, what a game.

I was spitting tacks at our full backs for the penalties. Stupid fouls to give away.

We equalised with the last kick of normal time...they kicked off and the ref blew for full time.

You're right. Bloody crazy game.

Certainly still worth a second yellow that push from the Hampton and Richmond player, but the Oldham lad made an absolute banquet of it.

Worst part of the day, was that John Yems let Lee Bradbury do the post match interview. Disappointed isn't the word.

Well didn't Division 4 do us proud, what a load of tossers we've got to support.

Only Crawley got through and then only just!
More than Crawley mate. Without checking, off the top of my head Oldham and Morecambe both got through...

2nd round draw tonight 7pm, i wonder if we will see blondie after her first round nightmare! for those of us left in who would you like to draw? and who would you want to avoid? for me any home draw would be good, but i would like to avoid lincoln and pompy away.

I'm not too fussed on home v away and any draw that gives us a good chance of progressing will be fine by me. I still want us to do well in the cup but there seems much less riding on it without the fans there.

Well it seemed like only Crawley at the time!

Others may have sneaked in by winning on penalties or lucky breakaways.

What do you mean "only just" I always knew we were going to get a 130th minute winner! :eyes:

Something that a lot of people have missed about our result was Tom Nichols scored a hat trick and assisted with two other goals. Its as though he had something against Torquay....!

Don’t insult masi51 ’s favourite player. The kid is part of the best squad in the bottom two divisions.

No he is useless week in week out. The must be something about him as he has played for England from u16 to u 20
He is on loan from Fleetwood, Alexander our other keeper is 18 and not yet ready and Gilks is 38 and not played in 18 months.
Think if Evatt sticks with him they will both be gone for Christmas.

Our keeper Tom McGill didn't move for ten fifteen minutes or so after being caught by the Torquay forward. Torquay players were the first to realise something was wrong and were waving physios on before anyone else.

Only saw a quick run through and it didn't look as though the forward left his boot in or anything. Just a bad accident.

Went off on a stretcher with his neck in a brace but still didn't look to be moving.

Very worried for him.

Casey
Amazing game of entertainment. Do either side employ a defence coach? How is the keeper? Like you say it was a bit of chaos and the striker has the right to go for the ball, but never good to see.

It's a welcome back to Hell for Crawley in round 2 (after we hopefully beat the wombles)....

Home to Brackley. Won’t be easy but about as good of a draw as we could have got.
