England C Team are off to play Ukraine in Kiev on 22nd March.

Squad is as follows:
Brandon Hall (Ebbsfleet United), Peter Crook (Harrogate Town), Sam Habergham (Braintree Town), James Bolton (FC Halifax Town), Ben Heneghan (Chester), Sean Raggett (Dover Athletic), Jack Barthram (Cheltenham Town), Jake Gallagher (Aldershot Town), Alex Woodyard (Braintree Town), Jon Nolan (Grimsby Town), Anthony Jeffrey (Forest Green Rovers), John Goddard (Woking), Billy Waters (Cheltenham Town), Keanu marsh-Brown (Forest Green Rovers), Omar Bogle (Grimsby Town), Kayden Jackson (Wrexham)

Does anybody know when they fly out? Why would the organise these fixtures at such a ridiculous time in the season when players are already playing up to 3 times a week and squads are already stretched thin due to injuries? We also have Sam Magri playing for the Malta U21s meaning he's going to miss at least the Torquay and Borehamwood games. We've already got a shortage of defenders and potentially losing arguably our two best defenders to "international duty" isn't going to do anything to help our play off push. Ludicrous.

Although we haven't got anybody called up for the England C team Zaine Francis Angol has been called up to Antigua and Barbuda squad so after the Lincoln game he will miss the next 2.

I like the idea of the England C team but why not play games during the off season?

I can also see why Magri would want to play for Malta, but it's stupid. We've had a couple get citizenship to play for Grenada or someone similar. If they had been called up for this set of fixtures we would have 3 players missing for 2 matches which would mean we probably couldn't fill a bench

Our website said Gallagher leaves to meet the squad after the Altrincham game on Saturday and will be back before we play Forest Green next Friday.

I think the only clubs affected are those playing next midweek, but I thought the Conference dont usually allow that when England C are on international duty

I presumed as much when I realised we have no midweek fixture. Still a waste of a Tuesday we could get a game played or some much needed rest considering the schedule at this time in the season.

The thing with playing them in the off season is that a lot of players are out of contract and I presume to play for England C you would have to be signed up at a non league club and with lots of players moving around between teams the squad could be picked, but by the time the games came around some of the picked players may then be ineligible to play as they may not be at non league clubs anymore.

In the past few seasons, off the top of my head, we've had Reece Styche, Eddie Oshodi, James Norwood, Chris Stokes, Matty Taylor, Jamie Turley, Keiron Forbes, Jonny Maxted, Keanu Marsh-Brown and now Anthony Jeffrey all capped by England C, so it's affected us more then most.

We've also got Dale Eve away on international duty with Bermuda this weekend, not that he would have played.

They all relished the experienced though, so don't see a problem with it. None came back injured and enjoyed the first class facilities training etc. Any sort of international experience is good for a players development imo.

Pretty sure Kieron Forbes came back injured twice. The first time was an injury that kept him out a few games but the second time he hardly played the rest of the season and was never the same again.

I understand that the Cheltenham boys are declining their chance to play. Club before country.

Yep, Waters and Barthram both withdrawn and Munns who was on standby will also not be going.

Poor. Should be proud to pull on an England shirt, whatever level.

The fact that Bogle has been picked from our team, when he's scored 1 goal since October, tells you how shit and pointless this whole thing is.

Brandon Hall demoted to our third choice keeper and then gets called up to the England C squad. They clearly don't watch the games!!

We've had a few players called up to these over the years. Our last three number ones have all been called up. Cronin, Edwards and Hall.

It's good for the players who get called up to play against players who have already, or go onto represent their country at senior level. Pointless from a fans perspective though.

Went to one of these games a few years back. V Turkey B at Princes Park. Was actually a decent watch. A lot of Turks there too with the flares.

Go on Kayden lad.

That's our most on form striker knackered for Saturday then.

Kayden Jackson has always looked fit as a fiddle to me, I doubt he'll be knackered at the weekend. Our best chance of getting in the playoffs is for him to start banging them in every game. This utterly pointless England C game against Ukraine under 20s could be one of the most important matches in the history of Wrexham AFC.

Nice one Kurtis...pity he can't even get a place on our bench, let alone the starting line up!

And well done to KMB too, who also started the game and played a key role in a briiliant result. We've provided so many quality players to England C down the years, they must be secretly hoping we stay down here for another year.

Good stuff.

Sam Habergham, Alex Woodyard & Chez Isaacs played today. Not bad for a "pub team from Essex" to have 3 players involved. There are also a further 3 players in our squad that have represented England C before, no surprise then that we are in the PO mix!
