It only happens nearly every tourney either before they play, or they bag a few wins. Its just predictable mate. ;)
don't take it so seriously mate.....don't allow your separatist tendencies to infiltrate the football.

The reason these welshies and jocks are trying to piss on our bonfire is cos they're rattled. Rattled that we're smashing it, and rattled cos they know their mobs will never get near us and that even if we don't win it this time, we're clearly on the right track back to the top.
Since when have England ever been on top other than the sixties, when Brazil should've won in '66 but for Pele being brutally hacked every game?

We Scots accept we are shite (St Juste aside but he is a knobhead) and have made peace with it years ago; and I can't speak on behalf of the Welsh, though they got further than England have in 22 years in a tournament at the Euro's so they've done ok. I am not rattled in the slightest as you will fall as you have done every tournament the last half century when it counts; we just don't need you going on about it like you are going to win it every fucking time. The media bias is ridiculous too for us neutrals, and that's part of the reason why we laugh so much when you do inevitably falter.

What do you want us to do, talk ourselves down all the time? Last few tournaments all we've done is talk ourselves down, this time we're playing some good stuff with some likeable young playes, why shouldn't we get a little bit bullish. Is that not allowed?

Have you ever been to any other major football countries during a world cup?

Lol.

I knew our neighbours were bitter but I can’t believe the genuine hurt from the fact that we have had the audacity to win a couple of games and ruin their entire summer. Think someone said earlier, it would be quite sad if it wasn’t so funny.

It’s amusing they take so much glee from the fact that England don’t win a 32 team tournament but they can never even finish in the top 2 of a group of 6 or 7.

....aw man. You have allowed yourself to be reeled right in and are so predictable when it comes to 'England'. So what if the media and the supporters are enjoying the moment, so what if some believe they can go further, so what if some (from both camps) go over the top ? Do you think it is different in any other country ? Here's a thing....you recall this embarrassment ?

We're on the march wi' Ally's Army,
We're going tae the Argentine,
And we'll really shake them up,
When we win the World Cup,
'Cos Scotland is the greatest football team,
We're representing Britain,
And we're gaunny do or die,
England cannae dae it,
'Cos they didnae qualify!

As I recall through the mists of time our media up here (and supporters) certainly were not lacking in their 'what we're going to do over there' nonsense. Enjoy it mate, give the England team your full blessing.....live life......:cool1:

It's not just the Welsh and Scottish, there's a lad at my work from n.Ireland who was slagging us off for weeks before the start....funnily enough though after we've started well, he doesn't care about us.

Beat a couple of minnows and think they can take on the world, then blow their own trumpet for days and days, whilst pretournament they had boring Gareth Southgate as manager ('what has HE done'?), no Wilshere = no creativity in midfield, and Jordan fucking Henderson.

The fall this time around in particular will be glorious to behold.

I thought Barr had announced a relaunch of the original, full-sugar Irn Bru for next week.

I'll be sitting patiently watching, rubbing my hands in glee for when the time comes where you'll drop a bollock, be it second round or further (and that would make the heartbreak all the sweeter if anything); and glorious it will be!

It's good to see that you aren't a complete stereotype, Salty.

What soft drinks do you prefer?

That's a new one on me mate.....is there some sort of connection there ? Speaking for myself, I haven't touched Irn Bru since they dropped the glass bottles and started using plastic shite.

that's the only type of bottle used when I was a lad.

Is it mandatory that every England thread follows the following pattern?

English people: hey, it's good to see the team doing well isn't it. A nice novelty, let's enjoy it while it lasts
Scottish/Welsh poster: *begins furiously composing tome about how deluded English fans are and how they'll be knocked out soon and won't that be fun*

I reckon Aber will literally explode if we somehow beat Belgium. Hugh will probably jump in the Clyde and Salty will be, well, salty.

You're posting on an England thread, don't be surprised if you see people talking about England.

Anyway, staying on topic, it's nice to go into the final group game without any sort of pressure. The luxury of being able to rest a couple of players is nice but unless someone is clearly struggling i'd keep changes to a minimum.

That's right I wish we could say the same for our last match (group match not tournament match, I hope :D )

I really look forward to the England vs Belgium match. I hope it will be a cracking match. I really hope both will go for #1 spot and that this isn't decided in the end by the fair play rating. That would be shite. Go for it, you have no real pressure anymore getting in the knockouts (unless it's pressure for you, speculating about the opponents in the knockout rounds whether you end up #1 or #2. )

After our showing in the Euros, we're not in a position to get fussy about who we play in the knock-outs.

funnily enough I have a large double strength bottle of that in the cupboard.
Yeah I always have it there, if I'm not in the mood of tea/coffee or lime with my water.
