Finishing has been woeful, decision making in the final 3rd has been terrible, set pieces generally poor.

Is that better Jockney? :fing::shifty:

Nah, only kidding. Wonderful display from England, just missing a goal or 3. Get Vardy on with around 30 minutes to go, these 2 pensioners at the back for Russia won't know whats hit them.

Another half of pressure like that with Vardy to come off the bench and we've got this.

Fair play to Rooney he has played well and stayed relatively disciplined, albeit against not much resistance.

Very promising performance. Just need a goal. Don't think anyone is having a bad game, Walker and Rooney both have stood out so far.

It's probably the best he's looked in an England shirt for a long while now.

It's a typical Hodgson formation. There's no thought to penetration through the middle or controlling the ball in there. You've got a striker and a AM as CMs basically just so you can shoehorn Rooney into the side. I predict we'll be poor until either Wilshere comes on or Rooney is taken off.

Nailed it

Yeah, I've been impressed with him. Think he'd get found out against a better team but he's well suited to a deeper role in this kind of game.

I think Lallana has been our best attacking player.

I think Lallana has been our best attacking player.

Him and Walker have been excellent down the right.

Alli showing glimpses but can't quite get the final ball right at present.

Hope we maintain that level although wouldn't mind Wilshere and Sturridge at some point when we start to tire/run out of ideas.

The problem with Lallana is he's a nearly man.

His touch and footwork are at times incredible. He just lets himself down in the final ball so many times, if he can just find a bit more composure or technique at the critical times he'd be an excellent player.

the problem with lallana is he's in a front 3, and his final ball/finishing is piss poor.

This is like watching Col U most weeks last season - playing fairly decent, plenty of chances... go behind. Let's hope not and that the half-time break doesn't disrupt the general momentum.

If Lallana adds goals to his game he'll be an excellent player. He just can't bloody finish!

Only change I'd make is Wilshere for Dier, he isn't needed with Russia sitting back and Wilshere will bring extra creativity that we could do with.

So far so good though. Very impressed with Walker and Rooney.

Surely not. He's a proven joke.

To be fair, Lallana being our best attacking player probably explains why we've looked good but impotent going forward.

bit late on that one pags.

sterling has the same issues as lallana, when 2 of your front 3 shit themselves in front of goal you're going to struggle to finish teams off. don't see why we can't partner vardy with kane and have him playing off the last man in this situation. russia haven't troubled us at all.

Perfect time to get Vardy on and give the Russian defence something to think about. Maybe Wilshere too.

No point bringing Vardy on, they're sitting too deep, they've got 7 players on the edge of their box every time we get forward.

Sturridge and Wilshere for Kane and Dier
