He embarrassed one of the best right backs of his generation.

Come back when Coutinho becomes the most expensive player in the world, is two time Premier League player of the season and scores or assists more than Bale in any season. ;)

He's only two years younger than Bale ffs.
Maicon's legs had gone then.

Coutinho is inconsistent as said; talent-wise he is on a different plateau to Bale who isn't even as good as Walcott. The transfer of him to Real was purely for publicity to make money just like the Beckham deal back then and the James one after that. All quite average players lets be honest.

Encouraging to see that other people also thought the performance was solid. Four points isn't a bad haul against two sides who had absolutely no intention of trying to win the game. But for better luck, we'd be talking about six points and two commanding performances.
Completely agree.

If I've learned anything from the Euros so far it's that some England fans will never, ever be happy.

I'm looking forward to seeing us in a more open game where we haven't got to try and break down so many men behind the ball. It clearly doesn't suit us.

Admittedly, I fear for our defence against stronger opposition but I think we'll look more potent going forward too.

Bloody hell we left that late, such a relief when that goal went in as it seemed like same old England up until then. We were poor first half and didn't take advantage of how shit Wales were, we were inevitably punished by their one real weapon they had. Second half Roy rang the changes and fair play to him for that as he got them right, we looked far more dangerous after the break and it just felt like a matter of time with Wales penned into their own half.

A more ruthless England would have won both of the group games by a few clear goals, we've made it difficult for ourselves by not taking our chances. Thought both fullbacks played well yet again, as did Dier and Lallana. It's a shame Kane isn't firing but I think he'd be better up there with a Jamie Vardy type. Massive 3 points for us and puts us in the driving seat for qualification.

Agree.

We're two or three goals away from people raving about us being the best side in the tournament. Not saying we are but if we had won both of these games as comfortably as we should have then that's how it would look.

Seems like Hodgson was furious at half-time. In his post-match interview he was asked what he said at h/t and he said he couldn't repeat it. Reckon we've seen the last of Kane in the XI this tournament.

Didn't get to see the game so can't comment too much but was disappointed to see us go with the same system as the Russia game. At least Roy was man enough to admit it wasn't working and shake things up for the 2nd half.

Having seen the goals, Hart should definitely have done better with their goal. Had plenty of time to react and should be a routine 2 handed save.
Despite seeing many claims in the box that Vardy was offside, he clearly wasn't and the officials should be commended for spotting who touched it last before Vardy and nice to see Sturridge showing signs of what we became used to pre-injury.

A win over Slovakia and suddenly all the panic and negativity following the Russia game will hopefully be gone and we should enjoy a comfortable last 16 tie looking at the potentials who we could end up with. If we get into the last 8, we should come up against teams who will actually have a go against us which could easily play into our hands so there is plenty to be optimistic about

Do you think after 135 mins of poor peFormance Woy will drop him despite serving England well up to that point? Ps why did you delete me off Facebook and make me cry.

He doesn't need to drop Kane, he needs to give him a proper strike partner or partners

I almost @d you in that post because I knew you'd be dismayed if it happened as you're a Kane fanboy. Yeah because I think he looks knackered and he wasn't doing anything, and Roy saw fit to sub him for Sturridge/Vardy so why wouldn't he stick with those after they had a far bigger impact than him? I think Kane's brilliant but you can't deny he's not got going in this tournament. Don't see why Hoggins would gamble on him any further.

I didn't delete you. You deleted yourself the day you- nah can't think of anything, I just culled everyone I didn't actually know. No offence or anything.

Yeah I think Kane's looked lost. Think he's been isolated but he's not made himself available like a top class forward would in that set up. Overawed, I think. Would not complain if he was dropped for Slovakia at least.

You kept Ian and some other Tffers, matey. i might appear humourless but I'm sill the same jockney as always. :'(

I've met them. Look, why don't we follow each other on Instagram and take it from there? I meant nothing by it. I continue to enjoy your 1FF account very much.

Let's not do this here.

Despite his fucking shocking showing at Valencia would anyone be averse to him taking over from Bodgson?
Bit of a belated response, but no, I wouldn't be averse to it.

He took the Valencia job because his mate Peter Lim was the owner and asked him to. I think the decision for him to take a club job was the right one, I just think he chose the wrong club for the wrong reasons. I think he should have cut his teeth in this country, with the right club and the right support, he could be a very successful manager I think. I would have no issue if he took over from Hodgson, whenever that may be.

Reckon starting Kane and replacing him by Vardy sometime along the game is a good plan B tbh. England look to have decent depth compared to, well, everyone.

Gary Neville isn't a manager and doesn't even want to be a manager. Fucking stupid idea.

He's got a long way to go, I was just talking to someone about who gets the job next and assuming we go English we've not got much going in the managerial department. Southgate? Surely the guys in and around the England setup are part of a bigger plan?

Disagree. If he doesnt want to become a manager why would he have taken the job at Valencia?

I too would not be unhappy if he was to be Woys predecessor

I think it is safe to say that Gary Neville has aspirations to become a manager, unless of course what happened at Valencia has put him off.

Either way though, surely we couldn't accept someone who's had one managerial role and failed badly at it as the next England manager?

Beckham wasn't in the same realm as Bale in terms of quality. Still a cracking player mind, both shit on Coutinho, the most patchy player in the Premier League. I wish he'd make his mind up, world class for a couple of weeks, useless for a month. Rinse, repeat.

i hope bilo doesn't read this factually accurate post.

The fanzone in Lens was fucking brilliant. The scenes after we scored the winner were just ridiculous - best celebrations I've ever been a part of.

Fair play to the Welsh fans as well, very gracious in defeat.

We'd have already known about it if he was Roy's predecessor, or have you come from some parallel dimension?

I wouldn't have a problem with Neville taking over when Hodgson leaves, seems to have the respect of the players and there isn't exactly a lot of options.
