The powers-that-be in Russia seem to be loving the situation.

Give the English banned hooligans their passports back so that they can have it out with the Russians whilst the rest of the fans can enjoy the occasion without fear of getting targeted. The only reason these Russian Ultras are targeting innocent people is probably because there is no competition/challengers and they are desperate for a fight.

Don't really have an opinion on hooliganism.. If two sets of people want to knock 10 shades of shit out of each other then that's up to them, it's when innocent or normal football fans get caught up it becomes unacceptable.

Seeing these Russian fans just taking the piss out of us does make me want to see what they'd do if the top boys were able to get to France.

Surely I wouldn't be the only one feeling satisfaction from seeing the Russians getting kicked the shit out off if they were to meet their match with equally rough English lads. There are only 150 of them we could outnumber them about 20 to one.

Lads from Stoke, Derby, Leicester and a few Millwall have given the Ruskies a bit of a hiding over-night by all accounts.

As an earlier poster said, I don't have much of an issue with two groups of guys wanting to duke it out with each other based on their football allegiance, but seeing groups literally jumping on lone English fans or kicking unconscious people in head does make me quite incensed.

They appear to be some sort of psychotic breed of body-building-super-hooligans. Watching the news coverage does makes me not so secretly hope they meet their match somewhere...

Russia get a suspended DQ. Wonder how much it'll take to tip it over the edge.

Nah we need their team just for our chances of topping the group

Let's say, hypothetically, Russia are disqualified. Does that mean their group stage results will all be expunged and we all get a 3-0 win? Sounds like a good deal to me!

Even if we lost to Wales and Slovakia, we'd still have a chance of making the last 16 in 3rd place.

The problem with UEFA either nullifying Russia's results or giving everyone else a 3-0 win is that it will affect the 3rd placed outcomes. Either 3rd place in Group B will have an advantage over other groups by being given a free 3-0 win or will be disadvantaged by only having 2 results to work with

Russian football clubs have hundreds of hoolies among their support, so it's a good thing nearly all of them were priced out of going to France. It could have been far worse.

I guess UEFA can only punish a team for what goes on inside the ground although in that case why were we threaten with being kicked out too?

There's a difference between being warned and actually being slapped with a fine/suspended disqualification. I'd imagine if we cause trouble in Lille against Wales, we'll get the same punishment as Russia.

I've always been puzzled at the authorities punishing the clubs/nations FAs for crowd trouble. How is it their fault that morons go abroad to follow their team and get into trouble? What are they supposed to do? Why is it their responsibility to take action?

If anything, the only people that should get fined for the violence in Marseille(both in the town and the ground) should be the local French police and the stewarding security companies.

The only way England will cause trouble on Wednesday/Thursday is if the Russians kick off again.

There will be nothing between England and Wales on a big/medium scale. Russia's antics have put both sides on alert, it'll be no more than a friendly rivalry, thank god.

Just seen a few flares up in Lille on Twitter. Looks very much like England and Wales will be standing together against the Russians for the next day or two.

Another report was 40 odd Russians finally been arrested today too.

Yeah, to a few Russian spotters.

It's kicking right off tonight, and I'd still love to be there.

Those damn Russkies have taken a photo of 'captured' England flags - one of which is Swindon Town.

Oh, the shame!

I hope the English and Welsh beat the living shit out of them in the next few days.

There shouldn't be that much trouble though as it's raining till Sunday in Northern France.
