Gullit: Croatia 1-1 Belgium (0 POINTS)
Deschamps: Croatia 2-1 Wales (5POINTS)
Klinsmann: Croatia 2-1 Belgium (0 POINTS)
Olsen: Croatia 2-1 Belgium (0 POINTS)
Zagorakis: Portugal 1-1 Belgium(2 POINTS)
Casillas: Croatia 1-1 Belgium (0 POINTS)

Scores after Portugal 2-0 Wales (2 games to go)
See future post after France/Germany game for corrected overall table.

Deschamps leapfrog Zagorakis which is very good news for the chasing pack with double points on offer in this round. I will stick up France vs Germany predictions soon.

Thank you to Veggie for the Dream Team update earlier.

Gullit: Germany 1-1 France (2 POINTS)
Deschamps: Germany 3-1 England (1 POINT)
Klinsman: Germany 2-1 France (2 POINTS)
Olsen: Germany 2-1 France (2 POINTS)
Zagorakis: Germany 2-1 France (2 POINTS)
Casillas: Spain 1-2 France (1 POINT)

Gullit will be praying for a draw and France to advance. Anything else and their bid to win Wars could be over. Everyone else will be keeping their fingers crossed for Germany (Casillas aside)

Olsen still have one edit left which was used in the final? Was it a good edit though?

Deschamps - 55
Zagorakis - 53
Gullit - 41
Casillas - 37
Olsen - 28
Klinsmann - 11

Zagorakis have played a very good first round and with no transfers, they will have to hope their big players perform again in the final. Deschamps recent upturn in form continue whilst Klinsmann continue to be the big disappointment of the game. Everyone else still has a shot of the title and it can all change with just one match.

You have until Sunday at 6.30pm to make your transfers. You maximum allowance is below.

Olsen - 5 transfers
Casillas - 4 transfers
Deschamps - 3 transfers
Gullit - 2 transfers
Klinsmann - 1 transfers
Zagorakis - 0 transfers

Realised I've made a slight scoring mistake as the points for the semi final matches, as stated in the rules, are:

(Semi final: 2 points correct team, 4 points correct result, 8 points correct score)

So I've gone back and to edit the Portugal/Wales game as well.

Gullit:
Germany 1-1 France (4 POINTS)
Deschamps: Germany 3-1 England (2 POINT)
Klinsmann: Germany 2-1 France (4 POINTS)
Olsen: Germany 2-1 France (4 POINTS)
Zagorakis: Germany 2-1 France (4 POINTS)
Casillas: Spain 1-2 France (6 POINTS)

Scores after Germany 0-2 France (1 game to go)

Zagorakis
- 29
Deschamps - 28
Gullit - 25
Casillas - 22
Olsen - 18
Klinsmann - 15

It's going down to the wire here.

Final predictions:( 3 points correct team, 5 points correct result, 10 points correct score)

Gullit: France 1-0 Belgium (3 POINTS)
Deschamps: Germany 2-1 Croatia (0 POINTS)
Klinsmann: Germany 3-1 Croatia (0 POINTS)
Olsen: Belgium 0-1 Germany (0 POINTS)
Zagorakis: Croatia 1-2 Germany (0 POINTS)
Casillas: Belgium 1-2 France (3 POINTS)

So only Gullit and Casillas can score points in the final. 3 points puts Gullit level with Deschamps. If France manage to win the final, they win the 10 points from Zagorakis. This would also propel Casillas up into 2nd place and knock Zagorakis and Deschamps down into 3rd and 4th. An awful lot at stake here.

Overall table - week 4/6

1) Team Zagorakis - 17
2) Team Olsen - 14
3) Team Gullit - 13
4) Team Casillas - 11
5) Team Klinsmann - 4
6) Team Deschamps - 3

Gullit and Zagorakis are in a right tussle in both remaining rounds so this could go either way. Casillas have half a chance themselves if they can have a storming end to the dream team game. Olsen's poor wallchart looks to have cost them a chance at the title but with their 5 transfers in the dream team, they can finish strongly to take a top 3 spot.

At the bottom, it looks like Deschamps will win the battle to avoid the wooden spoon as Klinsmann show no signs of life. Can they rescue a terrible campaign with a last hurrah with the use of their transfers? (Probably not...)

How many points for the wallchart winners?

1st) 10
2nd) 8
3rd) 6
4th) 4
5th) 2
6th) 0

Double points for the amount of foresight needed as this was the hardest round. If France win the final, Gullit and Zagorakis would have 23 overall points each which means it would all come down to who finishes highest in the dream team. Will Gullit use their two transfers wisely?

Casillas would be on 19 points if that was the case and would win overall (or joint win) if they come first in Dream Team and Zagorakis and Gullit finish 4th or lower. Which is possible since Olsen have 5 transfers. Olsen can't win now but can finish strongly and considering they've been excellent for most of the game, I would give them every hope of that.

Exciting finale.

Just wondering, if France won 2-1, would we win the task? Or do you need both teams? I know you've said before but I've completely forgotten.

Remember, you can change your captain before the final as well.

Team Zagorakis are our Grandstand champions!!! They can no longer be caught after France failed to win in 90 minutes. Well done to captain Krazy8 who chose a methodical team with Magic starring in particular. Also well done to Don Tonberry, SUTSS and Bottega Don who contributed at different times. EricSabin withdrew and MossyPNE didn't feature much but both still contributed to a team victory.

I will work out the Dream Team scores tomorrow evening (unless Veggie wants to in the day time) as they are over 120 minutes.

I'll also do a summary of the whole game and tribute to each team.

So after all the jokes at the expense of Team Deschamps Team Klinsmann managed to finish behind them.

They should be absolutely ashamed of themselves.
