I do not know who Levadia Tallinn are and I think that is a good sign.

I bet the supporters of Levadia are saying the same about Cork City

against Niederkorn from Luxembourg? Should be possible to get past the first round. Wasn't it last year when Celtic had so much problems with the (mighty) Red Imps of Gibraltar (in the CL qualifying round?).

ah, btw: DarkSithLord : You highlighted St.Joseph's from Gib but forgot to highlight Lincoln. And this after their last years heroics ;)

Midtjyllland in this 1st round, too? I remember they had a good run in 2016 where they played against ManU and even won 2-1 at home (before losing 1-5 at Old Trafford). Former HSV Captain Rafael van der Vaart is actually playing for them (if he's not retired yet).

Thanks. There must be order for a German :D.

Apropos "spotted": Found something funny in the list (at least in German)

Haugesund (NOR) v Coleraine (NIR)

Hau gesund.....in German language this would be an oxymoron: Hau (bash) Gesund (healthy) so it would be: bash someone healthy .....:D

The team from the same place that Uwe Seeler once played for a club from.
@epic: Is this even a proper sentence in english? (honest question from a non native speaker ;) )

btw: George Best once played in Cork, too (not Cork City but Cork Celtic like Uwe )

Most exciting thing of round 1 is Rangers return. Hope it's gonna to be good year for them. As you can see in schedule https://777score.com/football/tournaments/international-clubs/uefa-europa-league-577#calendar first their play tmrw will not be that easy with Progress Niedercorn. But i'm sure they had nice rest and will boss the field. :sb:

Ah, an Arsenal Fan in the Europa League thread. How are the "mighty" fallen ;) (SCNR)

The Rangers v Progres game is live on Premier Sports tomorrow for any Gers fans - Leo

Leo isn't that much interested in international matches. But maybe he'll make an exception to see the mighty Rangers against European Giants from Luxembourg

Good 2-0 win for Cork City earlier away in Tallinn. Not much else to write home about thus far,

Narrow 1-0 defeat for Bangor against Lyngdy from Denmark who are making their European debut.

How bad is scottish football?

Rangers toil to a 1-0 win against a poor Pogres side and St Johnstone lose to a novice Lithuanian side

Did anyone watch them on Premier Sports?

Isn't there a spun in Rangers beating progress 1-0 somewhere? I keep scratching my head but can't come up with a punchline...

Where's Steven when you need him?

Now that ManU is playing again in the Champions League he's ignoring the Europa League Thread (at least until the group stage of the CL is over and ManU will be playing in the EL again ) :D

Rangers knocked out in Luxembourg 2-1 on aggregate, by a part time team who to be honest were very poor themselves. Shocking on Rangers part, out of Europe already and we're barely in July. Congratulations to Progres.

That is a historically embarrassing result.

Progres has scored only one single goal in their 12 European matches before and won none of them (11 defeats and one draw)

A guid dram
Luxembourgeois? :D
4th in Luxembourgs National Division >> 3rd Scottish Premiership. Every new season a new disappointment concerning scottish teams in European competition.
Celtic are the only ones who have half a chance of getting European football. Aberdeen have been trying for years without success so the Rangers result though shocking is no real surprise, though it is very funny.

Pretty poor effort really from the British sides.

Cork City and Shamrock Rovers advance but thats it.

Aberdeen will face Siroki Brijeg of Bosnia in the second qualifying round. Have previously lost 3-0 to Hearts in the CL Second Qualifying in 2006 and have also lost to St Patricks. Aberdeen should win.....:dk:

Going to the Cork - Tallinn 2nd leg.

Did you go? What did you make of Sean Maguire? Capable of stepping up to the Championship?

I did go, and he was absolutely amazing. He was very fast and clearly knew what to do and when to do it. I think he'll do well in the Championship, by far the best player in the Irish league and wouldn't be surprised to see him playing for Ireland and/or in the Premier League in the next few years. Dooley and Sheppard were both very good as well.

Cheers, starting to build my hopes up about this guy.

We've also signed O'Connor, the Cork left back, joining us at the end of this month.
