No, not really especially when you hear Everton fans saying that he's the worst manager they've ever heard. They obviously weren't supporting the club before 2002.
Terrible performance today but we got the win. Not starting Naismith on the left was a positive, shame it's taken Martinez this long to work out we are shit when he plays there
The last two games in the League have been very good. The performance on Sunday wasnt the greatest at times, second half especially, but we got the win, and I think we are now safe, so a lot of the pressure has been lifted. We finished 5th last season because we could mix it up, we won games where we dominated and smashed the opposition, but then we also won games where we had to dig and fight. We havent done that so much this season, but Sunday was by far our ugliest win.
And to be fair to Martinez, he changed things after Stoke. Both Kone and Lukaku have started both and combined pretty well, and Osman and Gibson have come back into the side, so it has been more of a 4-4-2, and while Osman isnt a natural winger, he is experienced enough to move out there and give us the balance we've lacked all season. Lennon has come into his own in this formation too. Just our luck really then that both Lukaku and Kone went off injured on Sunday! International break now at least, but dont know yet if they'll be back for Southampton. The acid test comes in that game though as Barry will be back from suspension. There is not a chance he should come straight back in. Its an odd little stat that 3 of our last 4 League wins have come when he wasnt playing!
As a Swansea fan I have always got admiration for Roberto, but I don't think his player management is the best, especially when things aren't going well.
