Some of you may be taking the mick with these suggestions. :bg:.

:D

It's all johnnytodd's fault that many here are mocking about Everton (and I personally can't stand Ronald Koeman).

Moyes, Redknapp, Allardyce, Gerrard, Jewell, Sherwood, Pardew, De Boer are all cack!! Tuchel perhaps.

Tuchel and Klopp in the same city at the same time? Jawoll!

Didn't Tuchel have a falling out with the Dortmund players and was rather aloof which its suggested Koeman is as well.

Anyway any manager will have a tough time without a decent striker to field.

Who knows? Last week it was rumoured he'll go to china :D

btw: I've read the "Paul Jewell is available" and had to laugh. It's not the first time that I read about the availability of the "coaching legend".
I know it's a running gag here but when did it start?

I bet johnnytodd will be loving this!

This is pretty much a carbon copy of Tottenham Hotspur's season in 2013/14 or Liverpool's 2014/15 season. The failings are so similar: sell a star player for a fuckload of money, spend that money on lots of promising young talent, fail to replace said star player and have a shit season.

In fairness to Tottenham, they did actually try and replace Gareth Bale with Erik Lamela but that really didn't work out and he's now rotting on the bench. I'd be surprised though if anyone at Everton thought Wayne Rooney or Sandro would replace Lukaku. Everton have scored 7 times this season: Lukaku alone had scored 6 by this point last season. Also, Ashley Williams seems to have forgotten how to defend (similar to what Lovren and Chirches did when they joined Liverpool and Spurs respectively).

Although Everton have had a much, much tougher start this time around, the start they have had is absolutely atrocious. Only Stoke and Crystal Palace have conceded more than them, they've got more charges for crowd trouble by UEFA than they have points in Europe and only two players have scored for Everton in the league this season(Rooney and Niasse).

Who takes the blame for this then? Most definitely Ronald. You'd think after being a manager for 17 years and having seen the fate's of Liverpool and Spurs he would've actually signed somebody who could at least score 85% or so of the goals that Lukaku scored last season. Any one of Costa, Morata, Lacazette, Belotti, Icardi and Werner would've been a more sensible signing for Everton, and all of them would probably have been affordable. Admittedly, the first three would have been very hard to buy, but Belotti and Icardi at least would've been the most sensible, affordable and realistic replacements for Lukaku.

Good luck getting out of this mess Everton!

In what planet what Belotti or Icardi join Everton? They are two of the top strikers in Serie A, and Icardi is the star player of a much bigger and more prestigious club than Everton. Belotti perhaps not but given how highly rated he is going to a jobber club like Everton would be a bizarre sideways move.

Werner plays for an ambitious and wealthy Champions League club!

Everton targeted Giroud, a player who is more their level.

Everton will probably have to spend another 100 million to bring in the players they really need like a striker and commanding defender.

Suspect the fans will want a high profile name but probably won't get.

They certainly don't want Moyes back!

Inter Milan finished 7th last season... didn't even make Europe. You'd also think Belotti would've taken Everton over nothing later into the window surely?

I think the sacking is a little premature, you don't turn into a bad manager over night and he'd have turned it around, but that's modern football. Recruitment was pretty poor however in the summer in terms of what they really needed, losing Lukaku is probably what has cost Koeman. Dyche will take the job.

So....the same position as Everton.

Unlike Everton they are a huge, prestigious successful club.

And, no I don't. I don't think players are desperate to move. Torino is a biggish club, not much different to Everton, and he has a high stock and profile. He can do much better.

I'm surprised Sandro hasn't done better, but Everton fans (and English fans generally) need to be realistic that top class European prospects aren't too interested in joining their middling clubs.

Difference would be Everton are in Europe: Inter and Torino aren't. I'm not sure if Everton could pay more money in wages than Inter Milan, but they definitely could pay more than Torino pay Belotti.

Apparently Ancelotti wants the role, but only with Clement as his assistant.

That's not much of a difference given it is Europa League, and neither player would care in the slightest. Icardi is certainly a CL standard player (much more likely to get there with Inter than Everton) and Belotti might well be in future. He's very unlikely to ever get there playing for Everton.

I'm certain Everton will not pay what Icardi is on at Inter but as for Belotti, he is captain at Torino, it's his home country, if he were to move it would be to a big club in the Champions League - not mid table fodder like Everton, in an un-glamorous part of England.

Do you still think Werner would leave CL football, his home country, and RB Leipzig to go to a less successful and less ambitious club?

Make no mistake, if Everton could sign any of those players they absolutely would do. As it is, they would probably struggle to get an Inter squad player, never mind their star man and captain. That's why they went for Giroud, that's why they want for Sandro, that's why they went for Niasse, that's why they went for Traore, that's why they went for Jo etc. etc. These are not star forwards from big clubs, or exciting prospects from smaller ones (Sandro aside).

If this discussion demonstrates anything, it is how highly PL fans rate their teams and how second rate they view everyone else. Why not Aubameyang and Griezmann to Everton? Where is the line drawn?

For Belotti Everton would be a big stepping stone for him. Proving he can score goals in the Premier League would pretty much guarantee a move to a top club.

If Belotti is given a high wage by Everton, it's nowhere near impossible he will leave his home country and his captaincy at Torino behind.

Werner wouldn't sign for Everton. I shouldn't have included him in my original post.

Why not Aubemeyang or Griezmann to Everton? Simple. They play for teams in the Champions League, being payed massive salaries and are star performers their teams would simply not want to let go without a massive price tag (this is different to Torino's situation as they aren't a world class club). The line, for Everton, is drawn at teams playing in the Champions League.
