Two months ago this would have been a banker for any side, home or away. But after seeing the fight Villa put up against City, I can see this not all going Everton's way. Garde has put some belief back into the side.

Draw for me. 1-1.

Agreed, as above, 1 - 1. Home side will just scrape that result as well.

Decisive Everton victory, never in doubt. Aston Villa the worst side I've seen at Goodison in the last few years (Hodgson's Liverpool comes a close second). Lukaku and Barkley excellent once again.

Amazed that at3-0 down at half time they brought on a defensive midfielder. Seems that Garde will be going for defensive stability of the road, although how Richardson gets in at left back over Lescott I don't know

Having watched the highlights I have to say some of the football we played was astounding. The one touch play leading to the first goal was superb. Sadly for Villa I think they are finished, there was not one aspect of that side which you could call strong. Richardson was woeful all game.

This. Ive seen plenty of sides come to Goodison who arent very talented, but they make up for it in other ways. Villa had absolutely nothing. Dreadful at the back, no ambition, hopeless keeper, no fight, no threat in the slightest. Easily one of the worst sides Ive ever seen come to Goodison in the Premier League. It felt like we were playing in second gear for much of the game it was that easy, but we played some absolutely glorious stuff. The build up to all 4 goals was gorgeous.

Barkley has been much improved this season, but has still annoyed being a lazy little shit sometimes. Im guessing Martinez has had a word with him, because he was terrible at West Ham, but yesterday was the hardest Ive seen him work probably ever. And that work is all he's been missing this season. That little trio of him, Lukaku and Deulofeu is irresistible to watch right now.

It's amazing how much losing Amavi has fucked us up. We have no one else to play left back, fair enough you say Lescott, but he hasn't got the mobility to play there any more.

As awful as Villa looked, Everton were seriously impressive. Very worried about how many they'll rack up against us next week

it will be a good footballing game i'm looking forward to it, not that i'll think we'll win just for an open game.
