Gerrard's last derby so he'll probably score two goals or get a penalty. Don't usually predict a result here and not looking forward to it at all. Got a big family meal straight after the match and they are all Liverpool fans and in university I live with two Liverpool fans so there'll be nowhere to hide when we lose. I hope Martinez plays with a midfield three like we did at Anfield. I thought McCarthy would be back for this one but looks as though he's suffered another set back in training. Barkley didn't feature at all against Palace and it looks as though he has been suffering from a massive lack of confidence recently. It's important we play with two proper wingers as well so we can stretch Liverpool at the back.

We should have a bit of confidence back following the win at Crystal Palace, but as Arkan has said it's St. Stevens last derby. I therefore fully expect him to dominate the game from start to finish and score from the spot. If Lennon gets some game time then I hope we can use his pace on the break. Nevertheless:

2-1 Everton

A guid dram
Think it'll be close but Liverpool are becoming tough to beat recently and I think they'll be able to get at Everton's dodgy defense.

Everton 1 - 2 Liverpool

Merseyside police are going slightly over board with this fixture, trying (and failing) to change the kick off time and now enforcing a 15 minute alcohol time at half time. Surely people will just get more pissed before the game therefore increasing the risk of disorder ?

Not being arrogant, but this should be walk in the park for us. I expect Everton to come out try to break some legs in first 5 mins....then wonder why they get the red card.

Kopites never change eh? Apologies, we're only trying to be more like you and take our lead from St Stevie after all...

Dear Everton. Dont dare bottle this, and dont dare fuck this up. Im quite safe after the game if the worst happens, out for my mates birthday, which thankfully will be in Manchester, then Wigan.

Not sure what we should do now if McCarthy is fit. Besic and Barry have played well recently, but then McCarthy is so important. Lennon abolutely has to start ahead of McGeady, with Mirallas on the other wing. So maybe like Arkan said, with so much going forward out wide, maybe a tighter middle might be the way to go. It definitely worked well in the game at Anfield until Mirallas went off injured and changed everything for us.

Robles
Coleman-Stones-Jagielka-Baines
Besic-McCarthy-Barry
Lennon-Lukaku-Mirallas
Yeah I like the look of that. Now just watch McCarthy not be fit enough, and Lennon on the bench and Mirallas injured with Barkley and McGeady on the wings...ARGH!!!

RIP Lennon. Everton won't be able to afford his ransom even if it was one pence.

I reckon McGeady was behind it. Spotted his first team slot slipping away so had to resort to drastic measures. Like Distin earlier on the season crocking all our other centre halves in training so he could keep getting a game.

Anyone else vomited after seeing the advert for this game on sky sports. It's almost as if Everton are just here to make up the numbers as Liverpool, in particular Stevie G, sweep all before them.

This isn't the Merseyside derby or the Friendly derby...This is the Steven Gerrard derby.

Well he is the best player to visit Goodison once a year at least. Guard of honor is the least they could do.

You can almost guarantee the media will spend the rest of the season convincing everyone Gerrard will win the FA Cup because he deserves it. It's brilliant.

Everton might have a chance to score at least 1 goal tomorrow since Gerrard is starting.

It's already turning into the Gerrard show with the pre-match discussion. Hopefully Everton can rain on his parade.
